So coming up with ideas for new items is time consuming and laborious and really, I have created THOUSANDS in my time running games and have little desire to keep at it.
The store has a lot of great items in there, but even I look through it and feel there are things missing. That is what happens when you have the open diversity we have in our game.
So - if you don't find what you like in the store, I would ask you to suggest an item.
And I don't mean just 'hey a ring that does this would be cool' - I mean actually design the item. Grab a pic if you can, give it a name and a history, come up with the effects and even what you think is a fair price.
I will look the item, edit it if need be and negotiate a fair price. Then the item will go in the store - after you get a nice discount for creating it.
There are all manner of pics out there but they HAVE to be 100 X 100 in size. If you cannot find one, I have plenty to pick through that might do the trick.
Post any item suggestions or requests in this thread.

The Big Silence A particularly nasty weapon favored by the less scrupulous assassin types. Especially effective against spellcasters. -A garrote of thin metal wire. -Only works as a weapon if no one is aware of your presence. -Even if it fails to kill the target, they are silenced and may not cast spells, at GM discretion. -Such a weapon is illegal, but easily hidden. -$300
T'all ya fine dandies, so proud, so cocksure, prancin' abowt wi' yer head ful'a the pink stuff...come an' get me, says I! I'll be waitin', wiv' a whiff'a me ol' brimstone! I'm a grim, bloody fable, with an unhappy bloody end!

I'd like to post a request, though I can't find a suitable image for it yet, though just an image of a staff might serve.
Bodyguard Svardstav - Created by a talented gnomish smith for use by bodyguards wishing to have surreptitious access to a versatile weapon. This outwardly bland five foot length of wood, when twisted in the middle, reveals itself to be a seven foot long swordstaff, excellent for foot or mounted assailants in the hands of one skilled enough to wield it. - 2 Handed Polearm Weapon - Weapon can be used as blunt staff with blade hidden - Hidden blade is two feet long, double edged, suitable for stabbing and slashing - Blade and mechanism can only be detected by a thorough inspection - Blade extends automatically, but must be unlocked and reset manually, which cannot be done in combat - If blade is used more than three times consecutively in an adventure without being maintained the mechanism will fail and the blade must remain in locked position and exposed until the end of the adventure.

Love, like Hope, has too few letters for a word so powerful.

I like this idea, but I won't charge you that much for it by far. It has a very defined use and isn't flawless in it's effect. Here's the revamp:

Let me know if this is to your liking? I'll only charge you $100 for it as the inventor

Ok, this thing is more flair than function so I made a couple of changes. All the flair remains
There is now no drawback to it, I think that was unnecessary because really, you're just as deadly with this or any other staff. This item allows for you to have something cool though, a hidden blade.
It's also pretty cheap as it's not enchanted in any way.

I will let you have one for $100

I like it. Gonna get my tiny little hands on one of those.
Well, I figure these'll proly be way beyond what I can afford right now, but feel like I should post 'em anyway
Not sure what a good price would be... I'm bad at that stuff e.e
The Fist of The Dark - You shouldn't be afraid of the dark, you should be afraid of me - Medium gloves - Requires 1 point in Darkness magic - Unarmed attacks made with these equipped deal extra damage according to the points you have in darkness magic - The extra damage scales from minor with 1 point, to major with 5 points - Price.
Ring of the Clouded Eye - Hey, where'd my ring go? I swear it was just here... - Accessory - Requires 1 point in Darkness magic - Allows the user to quickly control the shadows in order to blind a target for a short time - The fatigue from doing so decreases with the points in Darkness, being quite taxing with 1, and almost negligible with 5 - Price.
and here's a nerfed version of the ring, if the other is beyond even what I would be okay with e.e
Ring of the Clouded Eye - Hey, where'd my ring go? I swear it was just here... - Accessory - Requires 1 point in darkness magic - Allows the user to quickly control the shadows in order to blind a target for a short time - This can be done once per adventure per point in darkness magic - The fatigue from doing so is very minor - Price.
edit: here's another item, cause hey, why not?
Band of the Night-Light - You can't hide from me... - Light helmet - Requires 1 point in darkness magic - Allows the user to see in the dark - Range of sight is 5ft per point in darkness magic - Price.
The Fist of The Dark - You shouldn't be afraid of the dark, you should be afraid of me. - Medium gloves. - Requires 1 point in Darkness magic to equip. - Unarmed attacks made with these are harder to track with the naked eye as they appear less real and more corporeal dependent on power. - This effect amplifies with each point in Dark Magic. - After combat, the user will suffer fatigue. - The degree of fatigue is higher the longer the battle and the higher the level of power. - Price 1500 gold.
Ring of the Clouded Eye - Hey, where'd my ring go? I swear it was just here... - Accessory - Requires 1 point in Darkness magic - Regardless of light, the user can blind one target for one round. - They can do this once per adventure, per point of Dark Magic. - Price 1000.
Band of the Night-Light - You can't hide from me... - Light helmet. - Requires 1 point in darkness magic. - Allows the user to see in the dark. - Range of sight is 5ft per point in darkness magic. - Price 300 gold.
You don't have the cash for these, though I would like your feedback as pricing is tricky.
The fists and the circlet seem about right, but I feel like the ring is a bit overpriced. Dark mages could already use their abilities to do that, all the ring does is let them do it a few times without the fatigue that would normally be incured -shrugs-
I've thought about it some more, and I do agree that those items were ridiculous. I'd still like the ring, but I think I'm going to maybe convert the fists to a much less powerful version that can work for light and dark... Maybe focus the metaphysical magical elements down and amplify physical attacks by half of the points in them. Or something. Beats me e.e
Ahh, I didn't realize I had worded it that way. My original thought was that since the eyeballs are kinda small, the shadow of your average humanoid would probably, when condensed, allow enough darkness to blind someone. So I was imaging it as being more of a selective focus. So you still have to have shadow, at least as much as that cast by a normal person, and the ring just makes it easier to gather and use it a few times an adventure.
I didn't ever really mean for it to mean even with absolutely no shadows, although since the wearer pretty much always would cast a shadow, unless you get creative with a spotlight or something, you could argue that even a shadow Mage could do it during daytime, with or without the ring... But yeah, so that's my thout
