Venom was impressed with the cathian. It seemed he was pretty usefull after all. Seeing how Kerag found use for the soon to be dead dragon's carcass, Venom thought of something as well and figured he'd ask anyway.
I've heard that dragon skin is pretty tough. You think maybe we can make some armor out of it?
Like I said, I don't know anything about its strength or density. I'd have to see when we kill it.

"I've seen a few master hunters wear armor made of dragon skin. To make hard armor you'd have to remove the scales and tan the hide like a leather. The scales can be riveted back on then."
Ragnir picks some deer meat out of his teeth with his knife. He wrinkles his nose at a particularly nasty piece of sinew.
"You fellows have big dreams, pulling in a dragon and then harvesting its remains."

Kerag chomped down a piece of venison, shrugging at Ragnir's remark, laughing as he did so.
"Aye we dream big. Why shouldn't we? I know you have at least a few tricks up your sleeve, as you put it before, they are easy no?"
The orc rolled his head, popping his neck. He smiled.
"Of course. Ragnir said it's underbelly was softer, enough for a magic blade like this..."
Kerag pulled Amaranth from it's sheath, the black blade dully pulsating while he spoke.
"It'll drink the dragon's blood, hopefully appeasing it's hunger if for only a short while. Knights of old slew lizard-kin with enchanted weapons, though I doubt any carried a sword such as this."
He chuckled softly.
"We have much to consider however before I suggest I simply charge the bloody beast and slay him. With Charles here and Ragnir's expertise, I imagine some sort of trap could be devised, a way of gaining us the advantage. Venom and I can keep on our toes if need be, but we can't fly. No...we must take the sky from it."
His tone was contemplative, yet he made no effort to disguise how serious he considered this adventure of theirs.
"What say you?"

He didn't like the word "adventure" very much. He started to rethink this dragon thing.

Ragnir takes a sniff of the smokey air. He puts his knife in a small leather sheath and ties it to his waist. He places the whittled object into a bag. He scratches his beard and looks to the dark sky.
"Time for sleep for you all."
Ragnir starts to spread out the fire with a stick so it goes it.
"Good, a net might work if Charles can make it happen."
He found a tree he liked, putting aside his weapons and loosened his armor, immediately falling to sleep once he was comfortable laying against the trunk.
Chaz curled up again next to the fire, his tail wrapping around his body.
G'night, guys. He dreamed of dragons and metal and steam and steel. Much like his normal dreams.

When the group awakes, Ragnir is sitting by the fire in the same position he was last night, stirring the final embers. The sun is barely past the horizon. The air is damp and cold and smells like rain. A few birds and insects can be heard.
Ragnir throws dirt over the last of the fire and begins to take down the hanging material above his shelter. He rolls up the material and straps it onto his bag. He twirls his staff in his hands and watches the group.
Venom awakens to the sound of the birds chirping not too far away. He sits up and yawns as he stretches his arms. He loved to wake up to the smell of rain, and then he realized that they would more likely be traveling within it soon. He prepared his gear and waited for the others to wake up.
