::A call has gone out among the Sonari for assistance. Word travels from one ear to the next until finally reaching those that reside within Wistvale. It seems the Sonari are concerned about a remote village that has not been heard from in far too long. Those that have gone to check on them have not returned.
You both have chosen to accept this call for help from your people for whatever reason you would and find yourself riding down a narrow trail that is supposed to take you to the village.::
::Dani rides along side the other Sonari she had met only breifly in town. She seemed distant, even for her kind, and had chosen to give the woman her space.
She took the time to scan the trees about them for any signs of life outside what would normally be expected. Having heard the stories of the disappearances, she wanted to be alert for any signs of trouble. And be ready for whatever came their way.
Her bow was held in one hand, an arrow notched and ready to be drawn at the first sign of trouble. Her other hand she used to guide the horse.::
"Any thoughts on what this could be?"
::She said, finally, to break the silence.::
"I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.
I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.
I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart."
It was rather unusual for her to be around her own kin. Wether or not it was a good change of circumstances, she was yet to decide as her companion was quiet untill now. Either way, dealing with this sort of thing with another Sonari, was helping her be a little bit calmer about it,
"I'm not sure what to expect to be honest, Ms.Dani. I think we should keep out of sight, and remain cautious. No point starting a fight with an unkown foe, if you know what I mean. I suspect a raid of some sort."
"Possibly something more organised? Even between us we got some decent gear that people could want." Dionne says as she takes her own bow in hand, and strings an arrow as they get closer.
::As you continue on, you find the first signs of the village ahead. A watchpost high up in one of the trees stands empty...
Further along the path comes the first building. Part of the roof has collapsed and burn marks can be seen along the edges of windows and door. Other building soon become visable with similar damage to them.
Oddly enough, there are no bodies to accompany the destruction.::
Sliding off her horse, Dionne readies up her bow in case they get ambushed. This was very strange, certanly a raid, but not one made by your every day bandits. She shares her thoughts with Dani, hoping she'd take the lead.
::Like Dionne, she dismounts as well. Loosely wrapping the reins of her horse around a nearby fence rail.::
"Well, obviously they were attacked. But by who?
Check the houses. Maybe the bodies are there. Or something else that we can use to figure out what happened here."
::The deaths of her own people should have effected her more. But she was Sonari. Used to the hard life that came with living in the wilds and all the dangers it could bring. On top of that she was aligned with the House of Galena. While not a Healer herself, she had been present for many who needed their service. And not always were they successful.
Taking her own cue, she headed for the closest home with bow half drawn and entered.
Seconds later she emerges.::
"Nothing in this one."
::She heads to the next.::
She heads into a house nearby, bow first. She was half expecting trouble at this point, it'd be strange if all other search parties didn't run into any.
"It's quiet, too quiet..." She mumbles to herself.
"Hey, I've got something that might just tell us who did this!" Dionne calls out as she closes up on the arrow head. Having a bad feeling about this, she begins scanning the area, waiting for Dani, half hoping she'd have the knowlegde required to be able to assign the arrowhead. Otherwise, they're still going around blind.
