Dieter saw the masked man and the purple-haired girl charge the creature, while Miroslaw readied his bow at it. Dieter knew that if each member of the party focused entirely on one creature they were entirely vulnerable to a counter-attack by seven others. Their situation was more dire than the rest of the group seemed to realize. As far as Dieter was concerned, this single attack was merely a distraction.
Watch for a counterattack, lads! Dieter took to defending the rear of the collapsing group circle, feeling through the darkness for any nearby/above creatures, with the intent of cleaving in two any who would charge from the shadows. He readied his axe, a cold sweat on his forehead and eyes sharp, looking for movement.
I like to take breaks on weekends to catch up on any practicing or school work that I have so you won't see me around then unless I did miss a post somewhere on the forum.
And lastly, as a reminder for new folks you only get 1 post per round of combat. In this instance, after everyone makes their action I will then reply how they turned out.
For this last post, Dieter, I'll count it toward the new round so that it won't go to waste, just keep that in mind for next time. _____________________________________________________________
Miroslaw's arrow hurriedly shot toward the charging spider creature (what is it with this guy and spiders?)where it buried itself in one of the monster's hind legs, causing it to howl in pain as it halted just two feet away from Dionne. The Redblade then swooped in and attempted to sweep at the monster's legs, succeeding thus thanks to the arrow.
Just as it buckled and tripped over the attack, Ama came in to jab her dagger into one of the other legs. As the monster cried out in pain, it pushed her aside with its forearm, before the Dwarf came in to bury his ax on its head. After a brief hiss the body went limp and collapsed to the ground.
"Oh what terrible morsels you are!" "Yes, quite terrible, you foul little meat's!" "Now we~oh, what is this?"
Dieter's magic found their marks after slithering around searching for the beasts. The mage could feel them all around, however, the way they came through was the least guarded.
In an instant, all the monsters made themselves known in an effort to stop the Dwarf from doing anything else with his magic.
"Sneaky mage, ugly mage, we'll feast on you first!" one in front of Dieter said.
The other spider monsters clicked their jaws in agreement with two of them crowding around the one who looked ready to attack the Dwarf.
Though they were surrounded, Redblade and Dionne knew their chances of surviving this encounter were improved after killing one, however, escape was still an available option at this point.
Seeing the spider creature that was previously a threat now crumpled to the ground did little to increase Miroslaw's love for the situation. He truly had no idea how many more were out there and was wary of taking the supposed trackers count. He remained alert, knowing full well that at least a good many other spiders would follow the solo attack.
As soon as he heard the other spider's make themselves known, he turned to face them. Another arrow was already trained immediately after loosing the last. He released two shots in quick succession, both intended for the front spider's head. He hoped to make quick work of it before it had time to strike the dwarf.

(First combat guys, gotta bumble around to get the hang... didn't realize it was once post per or that we were even in combat as soon as we were charged by the spider-thing. I don't know, didn't seem combat-y. So, this round is already taken by my last post...?)
After having dropped the first spider with a couple of attacks from the whole group, Redblade was relieved to have brought the enemies numbers down even if it was only one less. There were 7 of them left, leaving them outnumbered still. Knowing full well that they would not underestimate them once again, Redblade knew the next fight would be in more numbers if not all.
He looked up to the trees as he listened to their words, noticing that the dwarf had some type of knowledge of magic and was trying to use it on them, they seemed determined to kill him first. Three more spiders dropped from above ready to bring down the magic user. Redblade figured he had to give the dwarf more time to make a powerful attack with his magic, so he decided to distract them.
Stupid spiders. You can't even tell who is the magic user here. I will step on you all like any other pestering insect with my boot. Having killed your fellow companion here didn't teach you anything yet about us? You do not want to mess with us.
He raised his right hand pointing towards his enemies focusing on the shadows underneath the spiders as he visualized them crawling up their legs but mainly to just be as visible as possible. He knew little of dark magic, and it was even exhausting to try anything at his level of knowledge, but he tried his best to hide it.
If you really want me... Then come at me you freaks of nature!
The masked man prepares himself with a defensive stance, hoping that they would take him as bait.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Ama stumbled backwards as the spider-beast pushed her aside, but she managed to keep herself from falling over. She was relieved when she saw the dwarf's axe split open the arachnid's skull, and it's body fall lifeless. A small victory in what was likely to become an arduous battle.
Now her friend Dee was out of harms way...kinda, the creatures had chosen the dwarf as their next target. But only three of the six - or was it seven? - spiders moved into position around him and the young demoness took that as a slight advantage to her group.
The masked man was shouting abuse, in what may have been his attempt at creating a diversion, while the guy with the arrows was putting them to good use.
"Hey, chops!" She called out to the masked stranger, as she made a beeline for the arachnid on the dwarf's right. "Save your words for the stage and help that pointy dagger of yours find a nice spider neck to rest in."
At this point, Ama saw no reason to wait for danger to come to them. It was time for rapid action, not time-wasting speeches.
The young woman's cloak flapped behind her as she closed in on the side of her target. As she neared the creature, she raised her dagger - kinda like her very own spider fang - and attempted to leap onto the arachnid, aiming to drive the blade into its back.
"Well one down, seven to go." Dionne thought to herself, looking around to asses the situation. She managed to bait one out, but the odds were still agains them. Seeing Ama attacking one of the spiders, she couldn't think of anything but help a friend. One on One, didn't seem like a good idea, but two versus one?
"Let's do this!" She shouted and rushed after Ama, with her blades infront. As she closed the gap, Dionne attacked the front leg of the side that Ama was attacking, her other saved in case she needed to defend with it.
As the group of wicked arachnids prepared to attack the Dwarf, they were disrupted by the combined efforts of the group.
Miroslaw's masterful archery found their mark on the center spider's head, sending it writhing backward as it howled in pain. As its two comrades watched, in glee even, that their companion was significantly injured, Ama and Dionne came from the flank to take care of one of the foul beasties.
Ama found herself on the abdomen of the monster and when her blade found its back it too cried in pain, but before it could do something to wrestle the demon off, Dionne was not far behind to sweep its front legs. The spider knelt down in front of the beautiful warrior and immediately swiped hard at her face, only to be caught by Dionne's other sword.
Redblade's taunt did little to distract the other one in front of Dieter [no liaison] and the creature was free to attack the Dwarf. Ignoring the masked mercenary entirely, it sprang up in the air and fell straight down toward the Dwarf, intent on trapping him under its body.
However, Redblade was not completely ignored and would soon find that the four remaining monsters were just as eager to tear into his flesh.
Two of the spiders raised themselves up and pointed the ends of their abdomens at Redblade and Miroslaw before firing off a net of sticky web, effectively limiting their movement [Agility lowered by one point]
They were then attacked by one creature, each, as the monsters charged in to attack with a single swipe from their dreaded claws.
Redblade is covered by the webs that fell from above. He was pretty upset that his strategy did not go as planned, but then again he had lots to learn to become a better magician. The tables were being turned on the group and he noticed another spider coming right for him. Although he had little time to free himself from the webs, he figured his best option was to surprise the beast and counter with his own attack.
He waits for the right moment to try and dodge the attack by ducking in time to only come back up with an upper cut aiming for its jaw.

I will take momentary control of Dieter's character for the remainder of this engagement. Despite my constant threat of death, I'm not gonna let player characters go down like dogs unless they do something insanely stupid. You all aren't quite there yet.
As soon as Miroslaw launched the arrows, the webbing was slung at him. It caught him entirely by surprise and he had little time to react. The webbing covered him causing his moves to be more lethargic that he was use to.
Then, he saw the spiders charging. He knew his struggle was no longer at range. His weapon needed to switch, and fast. As swiftly as he could, he dropped his bow and moved for his claymore. The web slowed his movements to the point that he was incapable of drawing the blade entirely before the creature swiped at him.
It all happened so fast, shock went through his mind. However, he maintained a cool train of thought and quickly adapted. He attempted to rotate his upper body to have the half pulled blade stop the attack. Immediately following the unusual block, he would pull the blade the rest of the way from its sheath and lead it directly to slamming down upon the spider's head.

Seeing her work done with this one arachnid, and leaving Dionne to finish it off, Ama rolled off of the creature's back and targeted the last of the ones attacking the dwarf. But before she could make a swipe for it, the spider had sprung up into the air, ready to pin the dwarven guy beneath it.
The young demoness made a quick decision; springing forth, Ama pounced at the short man, hoping to bring him out of harms way.
Ama sprung forward and pushed Dieter out of the way just as the hybrid monster slammed to the ground. It didn't waste time, however, and immediately turned itself to follow after the two munchkins.
"Ooof!" Dieter said as he hit the ground, but the Dwarf saw he didn't have time to enjoy the dirt and pushed the daemonette aside, "Out of the way, lassy!"
As the monster lunged at them both, Dieter brought up his ax to deflect a swipe from its hideous hand. With a war cry the mage summoned an edge of darkness to coat his blade before he swiped at the spider's legs, forcing it to the ground as its stumps bled. With another slice, Dieter cleaved the head off the shoulder of the howling beast.
Another howl came from Ama's left side, as the creature that Miroslaw shot earlier came back with a vengeance charging toward the daemoness. The wound left behind from the arrow was still left square on its head, bleeding.
The Redblade and Miroslaw faced their own dangers as the monsters rushed in to try and paralyze their meal while it was caught. However, neither expected the resilience of the warriors.
Redblade took a hard knock as his foe attempted to knock him down, however the uppercut to the jaw forced it off momentarily. Miroslaw's opponent faced the same dilemma, as the odd block forced it to back off after it cut itself against his partway drawn sword. The engagement also slit some of the webbing surrounding Miroslaw.
Off by the collection of webbed husks one of the pour souls began to stir and his eyes opened to the battle before him. Slowly realizing where he was, the man began to try and break free from his cocoon.
