::All was quiet in the lonely little graveyard in town. That was until the door to a stone tomb split with a loud CRACK and fell with a heavy thud to the ground. From within the moans of the dead could be heard as they tried to give voice to their hunger and the shambling bodies of corpses now animated once more began to shuffle out from the darkness and into the sun... ::

Hex took his daily walk through town. He said hi to the neighbors and happily strolled along, thinking about what new and exciting thing might happen next in his studies of rare and exotic items. He was on his way home, until he felt an odd, chilling presence. He looked around and saw nothing, but decided to wait for some sign of... Well... Anything. It didn't take long before he heard the sound of shattering rock, and looked over to the right, where the graveyard was. He ran quickly to the site and saw a small army of undead creatures rise up.
"Oh lordy... What do we have here?"
He looked around to see if anyone was there, but decided it would be best to start investigating alone. He slowly walked into the cemetery, trying to avoid contact with the living rotten corpses. He kept his guard up, and listened for any rattling bones near him so he was ready to strike with... well... Something.
Serafyna [M:30:350:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?board=cs&action=display&thread=854]Im so sorry!
Sad. So sad. These lonely little graves, with no-one to love. To care for. To remember. This was a section so old that either their descendants had forgotten them, moved on or just... didn't exist. So it was the bookworm, with her curiosity of everything, that took care of them. Even today she was here, placing a fresh flower on each grave in this forgotten patch with a gentle smile. Or at least she was...
Just as she had been passing, the slab of stone had broken open. She couldn't hold back a cry of surprise, the flowers slipping from her fingers. Her hand went to the dagger she always kept on hand, and she immediatly stepped back, crouching into a defensive position, eyes wide.
Ivy had been dozing in the branches of a tree near the graveyard, happy as can be and very relaxed too, when she suddenly heard a loud CRACK. She immediently sat up, wondering what could have made such a loud noise in a graveyard. Heaving a sigh, she quickly lowered herself down onto the ground and picked up her bow that had been resting next to the tree, before running in the direction of the noise. As she got closer, she gasped at the sight. There were...dead people, walking. And a male she hadnt met yet, and Sera. "SERA!!" She shouted as she got to the outter edge of the graveyard.
::The dead came from the tomb. First one. Then two. Now four total, and still they seemed to come, hungry and wanting flesh...
Their bodies were not those of the long dead tho. They still had flesh that oozed and hung from their bodies. And far more seemed to be coming than what would have been held inside the vault...
As the closest warm bodies, the zombies went for Hex and Sera first. Arms reaching to try and grab at them with boney fingers. Mouths gaping, wanting to bite into the soft warm flesh of their victims...::
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...

Serafyna made a strangled cry of shock and stepped back quickly. On one hand she was thrown with justified horror. On the other she was fascinated. The dead! Alive! To think what they might have seen in their lifetime... But they didnt seem too capable or interested in sharing.. too bad.. Her head turned to the side and relief flooded her features. "M- miss Iv-" she broke off as one of the.. things shambled towards her. Wide eyed she backpedaled, slashing her knife through the air with little skill and almost hoping she didn't hit anything.
Ivy watched the dead go towards her old childhood friend and the man she had never met, and the protectiveness she used to feel towards Sera flared to life once again as she nocked an arrow and aimed at the dead person closest to Sera. Aiming for its head, she let her arrow fly and began making her way towards her friend, hoping the man could take care of himself, as she wasnt going to leave Sera alone to defend herself.

Hex flinched as the bones tried to grab his arms, but having been ready, he jumped away rather quickly, falling to the ground out of shock. He didn't realize that this was going to be a problem, but alas, he wasn't the only one. There were two women in the vicinity. He thought to himself: Great. When I need a big strong man to protect me, I get two women...
He looked over to see a girl, almost glamoured by the skeletons, yet totally feared by them. He knew she couldn't have been much of a fighter if she was that timid. Skeletons were also going after one of the girls. The timid one. Being the gallant man he is, he picked up a stone and was about to throw it till he saw the girl from afar shooting the skeleton with her bow. At least we had someone of a fighting background around. He wasn't going to be the only one engaging in combat, so this might prove useful to him.
He got up and turned around to see the skeleton still trying to grab him. Entering battle, he breathed in for a few moments before stomping the ground beneath him to raise a few stones around the skeleton. The floated only for a brief moment before the tried to impale the skeleton. he used a little magic, but only to try and dismember the bones.
::The wild slashing of Sera's dagger found no mark as the zombie closed in on her. One icy hand gripped her wrist and in lunged in prepared to bite when an arrow sprouted from its head and it fell to the ground, quite dead once more.
The zombie attacking Hex moved in for the kill when he dropped to the ground. It snatched at him, boney fingers tearing at the mages clothes before being forced back as Hex rose from the ground. The stones that were lifted into the air pummeled the body of the undead creature, but it was not until they found its head and dashed it in did it too fall to rise no more.
Rest was not going to be an option though as two more zombies each came for Sera and Hex...::
Ivy didnt waste any time being happy she saved Sera this time. There were more dead things she needed to help kill, and a quick glance over at the man told her she was going to need to work rather hard to kill all of these and make sure none of them got hurt in the process. She nocked another arrow as she sprinted towards Sera. "Back up! Get back!" She shouted at her friend, aiming for yet another dead head. She let an arrow fly at another one close to Sera, before nocking another one and letting it fly towards a standing dead persons head who was going after the man.

Sera didn't hesitate to backpedal away from the zombie, tripping over a grave in the process and landing on her butt. "M- miss Ivy!" she called out, wide eyed with fear.
Any question can be answered by opening a book!

Hex turned and saw another skeleton. He braced himself for the strike, yet as soon as he was about to channel his magic, he saw an arrow fly towards the skeleton. He smiled as a fire of passion burned in his eyes, and side stepped out of the way of the arrow. He smiled and looked around to make sure there were no more imminent dangers before turning to the ladies.
"Thanks, girlie. My name's Hex. Elementalist-in-training. Nice to meet your acquaintance!" He waited to shake hands until he was sure all the skeletons were downed/no more were coming. He looked towards the archer, as he found her act of protection kind and considerate, and felt the need to repay her somehow. But not now. There would be time for that if they made it out alive.
::Ivy's shots take down two more zombies. One arrow narrowly missing Hex's head in the process. The second zombie by Sera moves in in excitement at seeing its prey on the ground. Blood foaming at its lips as its teeth bite down over and over in anticipation.
In Hex's excitement, he missed the second zombie that was close to him and as he turned back from speaking to the girls he found in alomost on top of him. Cold dead hands close on his arm and its head bends low, mouth wide to bite...::
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...

The chill of the touch of the skeleton he missed was a lapse in his judgement. In his fear and goosebumps, he entered a state of danger and quickly used the air around him to create a large wave of air and pressure to try and get the skeleton off him. Due to the quick timing, he was sporadic about it, and may have also hit the girls with his magic, but he was unsure. All he wanted to do was get the skeleton off him so he could strike it where it hurt.
"GET IT OFF ME GET IT OFF ME GET IT OFF ME!!!!!!!! GET THE FLARBING THING OFF ME!"
Serafyna hissed and instinctivly drew the dagger across her palm. This was no time to fight her own issues. For a split second her own blood distracted her, but she flicked the blood before it could affect her. In mid air it changed into several pencil-thin needles about ten inches long. She held it until it either hit or miss, scrambling back, and counted another second before releasing the magic, heart thumping in her ears. Flecks of gold touched her lime-green eyes and the fur of her tail bristled.
