She wash probably glad to meet you, big guy. She raised her head, pointing at Grayell, eyes half-lidded.
Cause...you're a....a good looking guy, you know that? Real good looking guy. Makesh you wonder what the puppiesh'll look like. She laughed at that, sinking into the water a bit.
You an' her. Cute couple. Almost makesh me wish I'd hopped on the chance I had the night before you left...al....almosht.
Grayell chuckled but when she said that last sentence, she caught his attention. She was drunk... but seemed to be honest at least. He did wonder if he'd be carrying her home though - to her home and making sure she made it in one piece. He owed her that much.
Puppies huh?
He laughed for a moment and smiled, glanced back into the treeline where a certain wolf was hiding.
That might be thinking a little too far ahead me thinks. As for me well, I'm not that good looking. I mean, Alec here has the defined features of a statue and Kiga well... sorry. I'm an old dog, beat up and worn out. You know that.
But you said it yourself Marg. You don't know what you're missing.
He grinned wide. He was a bastard to toy with her whilst she was drunk. It was harmless though and be damned if he didn't enjoy seeing her dropping the wall for a time.
If her eyes had been gleaming before they were in flames now. Kiko hadn't moved from her hiding spot, not yet. But, it was only through sheer force of will. Well, that and the desire to hear just what else Margrett might say.
Eternity
“Put some clothes on, you weird, yellow-eyed, table-dancing, werewolf-training, cryptic, stare-me-right-in-the-eyes-and-don't-even-blink wench.”
Yeah, but...god. Not like...what you have now, wolfy. Not a...romance thing. She rubbed her eyes, still leaning back.
But like...one night. You were all...handsy. Don't...don't tell me you didn't want to.
She chuckled, sliding into the water a bit. She'd taken her hat off long ago, so she dipped her head under and got her hair wet. She smiled and ran her hands through it, as if trying to style it.
I mean you...you and squid. Cel. That wash....what wash that? A fling, I guess. Maybe I toyed too much wif....wif you. And you started to not want it. She leaned back again, her smile turning strange and lopsided.
But then...you got pretty close, Gray. I dunno. Thinkin' too mush, prolly. I don't...regret it, per se. But hey. Coulda been fun. Had you not...walked out on me. Left me there all...hot and bothered. She sighed, closing her eyes.
You're fun shometimes, sir. But shometimes you're a little...cocky. Sure...sure of yourshelf. In a bad way, that ain't confidence. Maybe you think it's confidence, but when you firsht talked to me the reashon I led you on was...wanted to show you how cocky you were. MAybe that wash wrong of me. Dunno.
Grayell only laughed, but tried to refrain from an outburst. He didn't want to hurt her feelings whilst she was vulnerable. He sighed, took a breath before he attempted to make sense of her ramblings.
Margrett. You are a dear friend. That can make things complex at times. You're not a man, you're quite open... intimately and yes, we had our share of moments, awkward and heated and otherwise.
And yes, we could have taken the plunge that night. But ultimately, it would have been that one night. You've said this many times and I am fine with that.
But if you think that it matters now... well it doesn't. I mean I was flattered and yes it was incredible, but you are my friend and that is what matters more than anything else. I don't want anything to jeopardize that Margrett, I'm too damn fond of you. You're a huge pain in my ass, you've always been a completely complicated shit to me... but I don't think I'd change that. Really. You make me smile... some days. Other days I want to kick your ass in.
But don't worry about it. Maybe you were wrong, who knows.
He only shrugged, his head tilting sideways as he looked at the water.
You can call me cocky. You wouldn't like me any other way. But maybe... you know, in time well... you'll get to know me better than that. As a friend.
I dunno...I dunno if I can know you well enough to not think you're cocky, Gray. But I like you like that. If you shuddenly got humble...I dunno what I'd do with myshelf. She shook her head as if sleepy.
Maybe. I hope...I hope I don't scare Kiko off. The crazy...crazy best friend, you know. That putsh a damper on a lot of things... She looked back up, smirking drunkenly.
Though...if you don't mind me shaying...if you hadn't gotten to that I would have.
Grayell burst into laughter then and he revelled in it, it was a mock evil laughter, his head rocked back and he simply let it ride. It felt good, she'd made him laugh quite openly.
Margrett, you found me humble once. You gave me one opportunity without your own pretence and you suddenly saw me as I am. We're both not as complex as you think.
But as for Kiko...
He smiled and was still smiling very openly. He shook his head and chuckled again, flicked his wet thumb across his nose.
No. You wouldn't have. Sorry Blueberry, she's out of your league.
Grayell chuckled again, deep and soulful. She was a hoot.
Oh Marg. Not all of us can can simply throw ourselves at whoever looks like they have genitals. I never once made a move on Serenity thank you. We parted as friends and we could not have been more than that. I suppose she still thinks I am full of crap. Werewolves and so on, yeesh what a headache.
His foot nudged her leg under the water.
You're not being competitive are you? I mean ultimately, you can chase everyone I have had any interest in after the fact but ultimately... that's just emulating me don't you think? I might think you're jealous.
They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery though.
If I were chashing all your exesh I'd know a little more about you an werewolf girl. No, no. Joke...joking, moshtly. I know you and Serenity parted well...she's shomething, though. Man. She looked a little distant now.
Can you keep a shecret, Gray? A little...little shecret.
Grayell only laughed again and then pointed... at the two other people still present. Unless they'd since left.
If you tell me alone sure. But you let the peanut gallery in on it well, I can't promise you anything.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"If he's unable," Alec chuckles from his spot next to Kiga, "I'd be happy to oblige you in the keeping of secrets, however little or huge."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
