"You..swam under the boat?" she said, almost shocked that she did such a thing. Realizing she too did something sneaky, the lady let it go and just laughed it off. Still, she was impressed with the feat.
Margrett's words, 'live a little' had actually gotten to her and she decided to drop her clothing, neatly, by her seat.
"Alright, I suppose there's no harm in it, though I am rather chilly. Is there a drying cloth in there at least?"
She hugged herself as she waited for a reply, the wind chilling her each time it blew passed her.
Haha, yeah...I figured I'd beat you anyways. Here we go. She tossed a towel out of the room and it landed on the back of the sofa.
Looks like there's some dried meat in here. I don't know how I feel about taking it. I mean, the boat's one thing... She blinked and sighed, then poked her head out again.
Let's just say we watch the sunset, then head to my place for dinner, huh?
Serenity took the cloth and began drying herself all around. She wrung the cloth over the edge like she did with her hair and wrapped it around over her shoulders. Though it was still a bit wet, it was better than nothing.
"Oh its alright, I shouldn't be taking anymore of what's Gray's already."
She took a seat on the sofa with the towel still wrapped around her and looked back towards the cabin, "Well if you don't mind having me as a guest, I'd love to!"
The notion of watching the sunset was very romantic, and sweet of Margrett to suggest. She hadn't done anything of the sort since being with James. When she realized what she was doing, Serenity pushed back those memories of her husband, not wanting to spoil the mood by turning somber by remembering the good times they shared and eventually becoming sad over it.
Of course, Serenity. Margrett sat on the sofa as well, and, unsure as to what to do, settled for putting her arm on top of the seat. She was turned a little towards Serenity, her feet near her side of the couch.
Anytime. You're...welcome anytime. It was getting a little darker, and the sun was beginning to set.
She turned to face Margrett with a sincere look on her face topped with a welcoming smile, "Thank you, Margrett, you're always welcome at my doors as well. I'm glad you suggested coming out here, I haven't been this at peace in a long time."
Her right leg crossed over Margrett's as she turned to face her completely. Serenity turned her head to note the sun setting and how its reflection looked in the water.
"Its wonderful, isn't it? I would have never noticed wonders like this if it weren't for James."
The last comment was unintentional and she looked at Margrett apologetically, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought up my husband."
Perhaps it wasn't entirely necessary to apologize for such a thing, but Serenity felt she had too. Bringing up her husband always seemed to ruin the ambiance of a conversation, if not for the other person, it did for her.
She couldn't suppress it any longer, and allowed herself to remember days with James where they went out in secret during this time of day. They'd go to a cliff side on the peak of Highever and watch the sunset over the vast horizon. It wasn't frequent that they did this, but Serenity savored every moment of it.
The lady allowed herself to fall gently on Margrett, one to embarrass her still and two in order to get warmer. She used to do this with James, when he wasn't making an ass of himself.
"I could almost fall asleep here," she said suppressing a giggle. Regardless, she was enjoying every second of it. In a way all this was like falling in love all over again, the anxiety and romance of it all.
Only this time it was with a woman, and her friend at that. James would be laughing his arse off right now if he were watching.
She was grinning, almost ashamed of herself, "Sorry, I couldn't help it, but yes its quite comfortable, I hope I'm not a bother? Oh and my hair is still a little wet too..."
The mage placed a hand on her head and felt her hair to see how damp it was, before playing a little with it. Serenity began to feel like a little girl again.
The lady looked up at Margrett's face as the light of the setting sun reflected upon her blue skin, the orange light seeming to shine bright against it.
"You know, blue is orange's compliment." she said smiling, holding in a little laugh from saying such a thing. Serenity was beginning to sound like James, she thought. The mage withheld the desire to touch Margrett's face.
"We should do this more often then, but we'll borrow another boat. I don't want to take advantage of Grayell's generosity."
As far as she knew, Serenity was still on speaking terms with her uncle, not that they've spoken at all in many years, but she was always fond of him as compared to her father, he took the time to chat with her and take interest in whatever was going on in her life. Perhaps purchasing or even borrowing one of his boats wouldn't be out of the question.
Her smile widened a little more with Margrett's compliment.
"You must have had some special moments with your previous lovers, no?" she fell into desire and allowed a hand to play with Margrett's.
Elsa said the sunsets were better where she came from...and Joran didn't see the point. Two opposites. This is the first time, I think. That I've been able to enjoy it with someone. She leaned over and kissed the top of Serenity's head.
Her heart seemed to jump when Margrett kissed her forehead, and she exclaimed that she was glad to be here with her. A rush of heat swept over her face, her blush barely visible in the remaining light of the day.
Giving in to impulse, and to cure the hard press of her heart, Serenity sat up a little and placed a hand on Margrett's cheek. The lady moved her head close to hers, looking into her eyes and breathing a little heavily. Finally she kissed her, closing her eyes and ignoring the passing of time as her lips pressed against hers.
At first Margrett was thrown off guard. She was used to going first, taking the initiative. She was used to kisses given in lust, or pure sexual tension, but this had a sort of meaning behind it. IT was a feeling she hadn't experienced in years, and she was afraid of it. She tried to let herself go, and...mostly succeeded. She returned the kiss with a practiced style and passion, but deep in her heart she was unsure and a little scared. Her hand went to Serenity's jaw, holding it gently but firmly, maintaining a little control, but giving a little over. It felt good, that giving-over. She pulled away after a moment and rested her head against Serenity's.
"You're amazing, Margrett." the reply seemed to be automatic to Marg's own statement, but she meant it all the same.
It was a strange feeling to have again, now that their lips had parted she had time to think of her action. Was it just the heat of the moment, just a spur of lust that got the better of her, or was the ache in her heart something more? When she worked as a companion for that short time they had always told her to 'Love, but never fall in lose.'
It wasn't a difficult thing to accomplish, she never saw her clients so frequently that she would develop feelings for them, especially since it had not been long since James had been gone. But this woman was something else, she wasn't a client, she was a friend that Serenity had just made and whom she is able to see anytime she wished. They had shared themselves in bed, talked a little this evening, what is to come tomorrow?
The whole thing was all to complicated to think about at the moment, a moment she didn't want to spoil regardless of what was going on in her heart and mind. Perhaps it was just her heart beating fast that confused her, letting her forget the logic in all this.
If there was one thing she knew for certain, however, its that she loved this woman, and as a friend would do her best to support the captain in any way possible, like she would of course do for her.
Friends.. she thought, Serenity hadn't made a great many in her long years away from home. Getting to know the people of Wistvale was changing all that, especially as she grew more fond of her home and the people in it.
While she was lost in her train of thought, a little growl made itself known in the pit of her stomach. Though it was hard to see now, Serenity blushed in embarrassment.
