Serenity waved her hand in a dismissal gesture along with a little snicker, "Oh I'm sure he'll see eventually that you mean well. It is the people that put us in office, not ourselves. I'm more than sure that if you show yourself to be a true icon devoted to the betterment of our society, the people will look up to you and help you accomplish this great task that will benefit everyone."
Her small sips of the rum weren't making the contents of her first bottle disappear anytime soon, and she continued cautiously with barely half the bottle still full.
"Not that I won't work hard as well mind you, but I think you can accomplish things that I could only dream of."
Margrett looked down at the bottle a little sheepishly.
Thanks...that does mean a lot. Gray just needs a little...time to see it my way I think. She sighed, sprawling back on the seat. She looked up at the sun.
Past noon. Been out here a while. She smiled at Serenity, jerking her head at the water.
Serenity straightened herself up in her seat and looked at Margrett seriously, "I'm not sure, I never swam in an ocean before, oh the water is probably freezing..." she wasn't nervous but the thought of feeling the chill of the ocean didn't sit well with her, along with the fact that there might be other things swimming not far below them.
"Are these safe waters?"
The mage always felt confident in her abilities to protect herself with her magic, from any threat on land. Her earth magic was always with her, much like the wind. Her paranoia may be illogical she thought, but it was still there.
"Perhaps I can just watch you swim?" she chuckled nervously.
If I can handle a river, surely an ocean won't be so bad...
A little shakily, she got up from her seat and walked towards the edge of the vessel. She watched Margrett take off her shirt and blushed a little, "Ah, you don't wear a corset?"
Serenity removed her blouse to reveal a special beige corset that covered her chest area specifically. Next came her dress pants which she folded along side her blouse and set them aside. Under her pants were tight fitting bloomers that extended halfway to the knees.
The lady hugged herself, noting how cold she felt without these two sets of clothing, combined with her nerves on the idea of swimming in the ocean.
Marg did have on undergarments, but much less...covering than Serenity's. Just a strap of cloth around her chest and underpants. She gave the mage a kind of strange, amused look.
It's just a big lake. Not like there are sharks or anything...that I know of.
She winked and jumped in, diving under for a second, before popping back up.
Not that bad. Little chilly at first. Come on, don't be a spoilsport.
Serenity looked over the ship to see Margrett come up to the surface of the water. Even though she was already half naked, the lady still didn't want to do it.
Eventually she sighed and settled for getting over herself knowing that Margrett will probably never let her hear the end of it. Stepping back a bit, Serenity sprinted and vaulted over the edge and fell into the water with a splash next to Margrett.
She came up for air, "Its cold! Oh my gods its freezing!"
Serenity was a little more sensitive to cold than Margrett was. Despite the initial rush of cold water she would get used to it thanks to the training Grayell gave her.
Serenity was still shivering a bit, while working to keep herself afloat. Keeping up the exercise would eventually take her mind off the cold.
"We had a pool of water behind the manor, back home. We used it for recreation of course, but I mostly just sun bathed just over the edge. I rarely took the time to actually swim in it. That still doesn't change the fact that this water is cold!"
Eventually her shivering stopped and she began swimming back and forth in a small line to keep it that way.
"So what now, Captain of brilliant ideas?" she said sarcastically with a false glare. She took the moment to splash some water in Margrett's direction.
Serenity muffled a giggle, "Well, I don't mind a race. If we did anything else out here I might not be able to hold myself up."
She gently pushed herself away from Margrett, "Will there be any wagers involved or are we just racing for fun?" she grinned.
Serenity never gambled and didn't much care for the idea. The mage wasn't interested in gold, but the idea of putting something on the line for this race made her more willing to participate. She also just wanted to see what Margrett would come up with if she wanted to bet anything at all.
