Rue looked from the spirit to her companions, then down the corridor ahead of them. She turned back to her teammates.
"If you want to fight the vampire, be my guest. Just wait until we have the sigils and are through the northern door to do it. He seems to be on our side for now so let's keep it that way, until he threatens us."
She looked back down the wing they had not yet ventured into.
"But none of that matters until we get the other sigils. Shall we?"
She half-bowed to the spirit and began to walk down the corridor, pausing to see if the others would follow.
Simeon followed. He did not enjoy violence but he enjoyed being in this place even less. "That man, thief or not, was killed by these undead and I am ready to fight back, especially if it means we can leave this place."
The high-stress situation was getting to him. They had already survived several dangerous encounters but they had still made no progress...
The group managed, and fared well down the winding halls. The exhaustion from there encounter down the passage had faded away now that zombies and ghouls were no longer an issue for now. They came upon a similar room from which the Vampire dwelled, however a more macabre scene stood before them. Corpses piled the walls, the fresh tapestry of gore and flesh accented the scent of death and decay. In the middle of the room a large....well there really is no word for it except it was absolutely un-orthodox even for the undead's standards.
It stood there, munching on the torso of who knows what. Upon seeing the stranger's in it's domain the Abomination let out a not-so-happy- roar.

Rue recoiled at the sight in front of her. The gore of a recent battle was freshly stained all around the room: bodies piled everywhere, bits of humans, she asssumed, scattered about the room, with the scent still lingering in the air. Her attention was then drawn to the grotesque creature standing in the room.
All she could think to do was exclaim, "What the hell is that?"
"Something tells me that THAT," he said motioning toward the hideous monstrosity, "is our sigil keeper. If you agree this is the case then I suggest we do it Grayell's way this time."
Simeon laid down the torch and drew his twin butterfly swords.

"Ayup," Alec says, honestly impressed at whatever cosmic horror came up with this beasty. "This," he says, pointing at it, and looking at Grayell, "this is a dread beast. Certainly."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
"Can it... Can it speak?" Rue wondered aloud as she armed her bow. Part of her didn't even want to know - she could only imagine the terrible sounds this "dread beast" could make.
Why you here? me not know you....you come feed Gorak?

"Riiight...." Alec trails off, watching the mutilated torso thump the floor. "Yeah I think we've gotta kill this one." Glancing around, he scratches a temple absently. "Think this guy's got minions?"
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Grayell looked at the monstrosity an clapped his hands, his kinship effect asserted his friendliness toward the creature.
No Gorak, we come with a message from the Master. It seems you've been a bad boy - but he wants you to show us all how hungry you are.
We're to watch you eat if that's ok - as much as you can of course. If you can eat ALL of the corpses in here - well we will hurry back to the master and tell him what a good boy you have been instead. Then you're sure to be rewarded.
The beast began to voraciously consume almost anything in sight munching away.
ENOUGH!!!!!
A disembodied voice boomed across the room.
Gorak, they are here to steal your treasure, do not let them. KILL them all and be rewarded with their corpses as a treat.
The giant's face contorted into a fierce rage it stood up again and roared bits of whatever it was eating flying across the room in a shower of gore.
YOU......NO.....STEAL.....SHINY!!!!!!
It turned to the group and with another roar put his hands together and smashed downwards impacting the ground with tremendous force sending a shockwave rippling outwards from him.
Simeon was genuinely impressed at Grayell's quick thinking and surprised by his apparent change in philosophy... however, this was quickly overshadowed by his shock and anger when that smart rhetoric was reversed. It just didn't seem fair--but then again, Simeon knew that life wasn't fair and that a giant dread beast had just sent a frightening shockwave toward them.
Simeon didn't want to waste any more time than he had to, but the was curious to try and counter the counter of Grayell's rhetoric... Show not tell. Simeon dashed toward the incoming shockwave and hurdles over it at the last second. He slowed down just before he reached the creature then slid under it--in between it's legs. Springing up from the floor, Simeon placed his hands on the creatures back and rubbed gently while speaking to it soothingly. "Hush now, Gorak. You must calm down. That was a test to remind you that you must follow your master's orders in the order he gives them to you. You need to eat all of the other corpses first--before you can go on to do other things. This will make you master very pleased with you. Only listen to me. You know I am friendly. A friend cannot be a thief. Eat the other corpses first, to show master you can be good."
Simeon hoped that the creature could sense some sort of kinship from his tone and be comforted by the hands rubbing his back. It was amazing that such a hideous creature could be so innocent and naive. He felt sorry for the being and truly wished there was a way to free it. However, he knew this creature would not be able to live outside of this environment. Any hunter or adventurer would attack or run at first sight. Also, he had just told the beast to eat all of them after it finished eating the other corpses... This might not end well.

Overcoming her shock at the grotesque creature and its immediate ravishing of the bodies around the room, Rue aimed her bow at the creature's head, shooting an arrow in the direction of each eye. She could see that Simeon was trying to reason with it, but she doubted the monster would respond to any voice but its master's.As the shockwave approaced where Rue was standing, she was too busy trying to get a good shot at the creature's head to try and avoid it. It knocked her down and when she fell, her head slammed against the hard ground. Standing back up, she tried to aim once more at the creature's head, but there seemed to be three heads instead of one. Rubbing her temples and stumbling backwards slightly, she tried to regain her bearings before attacking again.
