Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Well hold on a second," Alec says holding a hand out. "I like not having to kill things, makes my gloves dirty, but is it really wise to bargain with the undead?"
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Simeon had tried his best--for the time being. The man was willing to barter... That's a start... However, the man also proved to be a vampire. Vampires dealt with forces that shouldn't be. He now--surprisingly--agreed with Grayell. Grayell. He's genuinely seems to reject his ability to use blood magic. Yet... how could he have obtained it? Is it heredita--?"
Simeon cut his thoughts short. He realized he needed to concentrate on the situation at hand. He switched the torch to his right hand. The left hand was getting tired.
The Vampire was slowly growing more annoyed at the group, Grayell in particular.
Despite your ineptitude of the beings around you, though I am undead as specified for I am not of the living, and as a vampire I am higher on the food chain when it comes to the undead, however there are more powerful undead that can hold dominance over even my kind. As for "preying" on this Wistvale you speak of, I have no interest in settling in a mortal society especially not after what happened in the last time I tried to settle in one..
He shudders at the thought he had.
At any rate, I have no desire to remain here against my will. If you wish to obtain the sigil I carry...
He said pulling a chain from around his neck with a familiar insignia on it form the drawn pattern from before
Go fetch the other from the eastern cooridoor, and watch yourself the keeper of said sigil is...well....a piece of work....
He chuckled
And don't think you will take mine out of force, I have contingencies in place.
He snapped his fingers, his amber began to glow. The lids on the good hundred sarcophagi that decorated the room slid open, the creatures that emerged seemed to be zombies, but they had the same ashen, with the exception of rotting, complexion as the mysterious Vampire host they had before them. All of the thralls seemed eager to await their master's command.
Abominations the master of this hell hole decided would be interesting to make. Vampiric Zombies, horrendus things, but they listen without hesitation. Now go, I will await your return and you will have my assistance.
he turned and walked away but turned before he vanished into the darkness, his red eyes glaring at Grayell.
And you, wild one. Since you seem hell bent on the thought of me being evil let me explain something to you: You cannot define someone as evil by their actions, rather you impart judgement on the intentions behind those actions. Do not label me as something you do not fully understand yourself.
He laughed a bit.
Ahh, learned that from an old friend. I always wonder were that Garo.....
He trailed off lost in thought, the thralls of the vampire still stood slavering, watching ever so carefully at the adventurers.
Grayell only growled as he tuned to leave, but was kind enough to flip the blood sucker off.
Bloodrats are full of shit. Bloody shit.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"See?" Alec asks the group, nudging Rue in the ribs, while pointing to the vampires. Zombies. Things. "Company. Told you."
Turning with Grayell, he looks over at the man. "Past experience with "bloodrats" then? Know of any ways to kill one surrounded by hundreds of subservient minions?"
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Simeon, not desiring to be left behind in a room full of unholy "beings", followed behind Grayell. It seemed they might try the other hall first--although, Grayell may have been serious... He may be heading for the exit.
Rue began protesting to Alec's "I-told-you-so" attitude.
"I didn't say they wouldn't -- I just thought that --" Her voice trailed off as she gave up, rolling her eyes at him and following the group out of the room. "So, off to find the other sigils then? Let's try not offend the keeper of these ones right away," she said pointedly.
Simeon raised an eyebrow as he looked at Rue. "Unfortunately, based on that vampire's reaction, I believe the other keeper will not be as civil. He seemed to imply that the other is unstable--perhaps even feral." He shrugged, "At least, that's how I understood him."
The Vampire returned to his chambers behind the statue he posed upon. He contemplated the integrity of the group he had met, would they assist him? or leave him to the misery of this place? He shook his head, moving over to an ancient chest. He opened the lid and withdrew an old belt. It was crimson and black, two blades hung upon the belt in their respective sheaths. A cherry blossom insignia stitched onto the side of the belt.
Memories of an age past......Ahh how the years have flown.... No matter, I will aid these humans in their endeavor regardless if they need it or not. I just need the other sigil...
He said, as he strapped the belt across his waist. He ran his fingers over the belt for alignment and felt another familiar stitching. Initials....."R.D.".......
He sighed, rummaging through the chest he removed a set of armor. The leather was blacker than the night, the same insignia on his belt was also stitched above the right breast plate.
The group once again traveled the long hallway, away from the Vampire and his forced upon minions. The hall was clear and quiet, almost unnerving. The came across the familiar entrance, the stairs leading to the surface and the grand door to the north of the room. All was the same with the exception of a familiar translucent blue figure standing at the mouth of the eastern hallway.

Still your rage, and silence yourself mortal. You do not have the sigil....then the Vampire still lives....that is good then....
The ghostly figure moved closer to the group the still air growing colder as he hovered closer.
Though in nature it is natural to be resentful of the Vampire who dwells here, however since he left you alive it means he still holds on to his own sense of mortality and is not fully dominated as are the other foul beings here. I care not for what reason why he kept you alive, or why he still lives but he can be of use to you all.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Soo...." Alec says, tapping his chin with a finger, "we're gonna use the vampire?....but he's trying to use us. Never try and play a player, a wise man once said." He shrugs. "That gambit never ends well for anyone."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
And your ignorance is abundant as the undead that perversely walk this sanctum. The Vampire is not one to play games mortal, He is not 'using' you in the sense you depict.
The spectre paused....the look upon his face seemed as though he was struck dumb with an epiphany.
I know his plan......yes....so simple. Make haste, obtain the sigil from the keeper in this wing and take it to the Vampire. Disagree all you like but he will help. Without him you will not be able to break the seal for it takes on of the servants to open it. With both sigils he will be able to break the wards on the northern door allowing you access.
