A little child enters the wistvale gates with ease, being well known by the guards at the gates as she would often play around with her puppy awaiting for her father's return from cutting down trees from a forest nearby. She had a letter on hand as she ran down the streets looking for someone, although she did not have a certain someone in mind.
When she arrived to the marketplace, she began to get lost in the large crowd with everyone walking in different directions. One could notice that she would tug on people's clothing only if it were visible that they carried a weapon and of middle to high class status, but most would only brush her off and continue on their path.
"Excuse me... Excuse me... Sorry, sir?..."
She continued trying to get someone's attention. Either you spot the young child or she pulls on your clothing just a bit to try and get your attention.
((This is my GM trial adventure and is open to 2 players only. I do hope to keep it fast paced so I do ask that if you join to at least post once a day. Thanks! And I hope you enjoy. ))

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Argent was oblivious to the actions of the small girl lost in such a crowd. He had come here today as part of his exploration of town and to parade himself around a bit in the hopes that a merchant might have need of a protector.
Coin was getting slim, and he was begining to worry he would not have enough to last the week at his current residence.
He was scanning the stalls and about to approach a likely employer when he felt a tug at his waist. His first thought was a thief was trying to lift a coin from his belt. It would not be the first time someone had tried, and probably not the last. His free hand moved quickly to grab at the offending hand in the hopes of catching the person in the act.
His head turned next to spy the thief, only to find the little girl instead. Immediately his expression changed as his grip loosened. A smile broke through the initial harsh look as he bent at the knees to stoop closer to her level, using the butt of his spear for added support.
"Why, hello little girl. I almost took you for a thief. You should be more careful."
There was honest concern in his eyes that he hoped would overcome any inital scare he may have given the child.
"Are you lost?"
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
Shen was strolling through the markets as well, which wasn't altogether uncommon given his occupation as a vendor himself. That being the case, he knew many of the faces in the marketplace on any given day, or at least recognized them as familiar. The Haisheth with the spear however, he had not seen before.
Shen looked over some produce, watching the exchange between the newcomer and the child if only because it seemed a little unusual.
The little girl became frightened when Argent grabbed her hand quickly and then saw his mad expression on his Haisheth face. His race was a scary bed time story to little kids to scare when they misbehaved. She pulled back as her eyes slowly began to turn red and teary up until he changed his expression to a smile and spoke to her in a kind manner. With her voice a little frightened, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a shinny gold coin with an unknown insignia on it and offered it to him.
"She needs your help. Please hurry and go save her. She said she will have more of this if you go. Up by the abandoned church on the hillside she waits."
Anybody who lived in Wistvale was familiar to its location. It was a church used many years ago before it was burnt down by an orc attack and never rebuilt because it had no security over it.
Shen hid nearby and was able to over hear the whole conversation. The girl's attention begins to look about on the crowd again. One could only think that she was trying to find another taker on the favor she was asked to do.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
He wrapped his hand over hers that held the coin as he studied her face. Was there fear there beyond what he had caused? Worry? He wasn't sure, and was hoping for a bit more information.
"She? Who is 'she'?"
Holding her by the hand he began to lead her out of the middle of the crowd to a quiet corner where he could speak with her better.
"What kind of trouble is she in?"
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
Argent could not really tell if there was more fear in her then he had already given her earlier. (( Lvl 0 Intuition)) After walking her away from the crowd, and closer to Shen without even noticing him, he had gained her attention. Looking him straight in the eyes as she responded with an innocent voice, she said...
"I don't know who she is. She was at the gates and only gave me these three gold pieces.
This one is yours,... this one is mine,... and THIS one, is for one more person. "
She told me to find two men with weapons and send them to the abandoned church outside of the city because she needed help... Oh! And she said something about some people wanting to kill her."
She began to pull back as she looked again towards the crowd.
"I have to find someone else to help her. Please go. She needs your help."
When she pulls on Argent to let go one more time, she notices Shen and smiles at him.
"You sir!... Will you go too?"
Her hand offered the last gold coin.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Shen considers the idea, having overheard the conversation with the spearman. As a rule, Shen tried to display a disinterest and impatience for children, but in reality he held no such gripe. The thing that got him at this moment though, was a memory of a small girl outside of Wistvale who lost her mother because Shen did not have the means to heal her. He was oddly silent as he took the coin, he didn't sigh and he didn't bemoan the idea.
Instead, he slipped it into his pocket and then pressed his glasses further up his nose with a nod.
"Certainly. Are you to escort us, or do you have somewhere safe to wait?"
She smiled at Shen as her job was complete and now she knew she deserved her coin.
"I have to wait for papa at the gates again before he returns. He is taking me to see the horses tonight with mommy and I now have one gold coin to buy one someday. "
She held her coin up to show the two strangers before she waves goodbye to them.
"Byeeeee!!"
She runs off and they lose sight of her in the crowd.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
He was a man used to accepting payment for all kinds of tasks, but when he at first thought that the girls mother was in danger, he had no intention of taking her money. Somehow there was a difference to him between taking a job, and just doing what was right.
However, it seemed the woman in danger was not the girls mother, but indeed someone wanting to hire help. So when the girl ran off he found himself holding to the coin in his hand as his gaze fell upon the other man who had accepted the task.
"Well...
I guess that answers your question."
He says as the girl disappears into the crowd.
"You don't happen to know this church she mentioned, do you? I'm afraid I haven't been here long enough to get a good lay of the land.
Name's Argent, by the way. If we're to work together we should at least know each others names."
He offered his hand to the man with the glasses.
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
"Why yes, because the GM said so." was certainly not what Shen said.
"I am Shen. The church is easy enough to find, a run down place."
Shen took out the coin and looked over it, skeptical of their predicament. Who could blame him? Placing it away once more, he began to walk with a nod to Argent.
"Well then, we're off. What could possibly go wrong, no?"
It did not take long before both Shen and Argent found the abandoned church that the little girl spoke of back in Wistvale. Its ruins laid in a clear field with the forest not too far from it where they both stood as they spotted a very beautiful woman waiting there for them. They could tell she was half elf half human by the looks of her. She had not spotted them yet, but the two men found her very attractive from their position.
Her hand laid on the hilt of her long sword looking a little nervous as her eyes are seen scanning the woods all around her.
Where are they? That child better not have let me down. I can not wait here any longer.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Shen found it odd that their 'damsel in distress' seemed in one whole piece and what's more, had her sword unsheathed. What could possibly wrong? Oh, any number of things and so many of them might just start with a rather pretty looking half elf with a rather pointy looking sword. Still, Shen wasn't the most patient sort and was hardly concerned with her potential for harm. The woman didn't seem terribly patient either.
He said with a wink as he followed Shen to the church.
The woman certainly was attractive...for someone not Haisheth. But Argent had learned over time to not simply be sucked in by a pretty face. Particularly one wielding a longsword.
He slowed his pace as they approached, his eyes scanning the area around them. Were this woman truly in trouble, there was no telling when or where it could make its presence known.
"I have to admit...
You don't look like the sort that needs protecting."
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
When she heard Shen's voice, she immediatley drew her sword out in fear and faced them. Seeing that they were not the people she had thought, she lowered her sword and her expression of fear changed to relief.
... Don't scare me like that. You must be from Wistvale, right?
Looking at Shen, she took a step forward when she responded to him.
To answer your question sir, yes I am. It is of vital importance that I reach my destination in time. I have been delayed long enough by these people that are out to stop me. I plead for your protection from them. They will not stop until I am dead. I will pay anything once I've reached my destination. We have much to reward you with, if you accept my request.
She then turns to face Argent.
I know well enough to keep myself alive, if that's what you are referring to. To be complety honest with you, these men are not any ordinary gang of thieves. They are professional assassins with great skills and talents. I have dealt with them in the past and seen what they are capable with my own eyes. This will not be an easy task, if you do accept, but if we survive through it, there will be a great compensation for it, I can guarantee you that.
She turns around and steps away to give them time to think/talk it over when the two men hear something from a distance cutting through the wind and getting closer and louder fast.
