((Ok, my bad. I didn't think it would affect you in anyway. Won't do it again. You know he is a mage because he weilds a staff and just about everything about his wardrobe looks like it.))
Hesai's expression looked disturbed at Argent's words. If he was anxious to fight them before, he was a pitbull ready to attack on them now.
WHO ARE YOU CALLING A "BOY"?!!
After Shen finished speaking, the Haisheth had just enough of them and spun around slowly to make an attack when a mysterious voice at a distance stops him just in time from raising his swords at the pair.
This is not personal... But you can say we are hired assassins, to some degree.
The man behind the voice walks out into the open from the trees behind the Soren.
Everyone stand down. It seems they know nothing about Sarirhet.
He walks over to the Soren and stands by his side. Looking at the medic he says..
Who are you then and why are you protecting her?

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Shen doesn't look at all impressed, but at least someone yanked the dog's chain before he had to muzzle it.
"I'm a doctor actually and was seeing to a day at market when I was asked to see to a woman in need of help. We'd but met her when one of your men maimed her and as you can imagine, the resulting confusion led to this mess."
Shen slipped his hand from Argent now, deciding that now wasn't the time to enchant his newly acquired associate. He also decided that he needn't blast the mouthy Haisheth, or blind the lot of them and take off.
"Regardless, you'll understand our concern when some four men are intent on killing one woman, who's quite concerned with just that thing. I cannot fathom just how you're going to justify your actions, but am all ears.
Of course, we could get back to measuring our genitalia and spoil everyone's morning instead."
He tried hard to stiffle the laugh that wanted to come at Shen's comments. He was glad to see the reaction he got out of the other Haisheth tho. Anything he could do to set the hothead on edge would hopefully hamper his actions in combat, should it come. Angry people make stupid mistakes.
He just hoped it wouldn't come to that.
So he stayed quiet and allowed his companion to do that talking, not wanting to spoil any good it may do, and instead continued to focus on planning just how and where to strike should things go south.
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
The leader, who seemed to be Sonari, looked Shen up and down as if he were studying him while he rubbed his chin. He tried to read any expressions that might prove that Shen's words were not true, but there weren't any. This man spoke the truth it seemed.
He steps forward and extends a hand out to greet him, when the Soren behind him grabbing hold of the hilt of his sword to prepare, in the event that the two strangers might seem as a threat to his leader.
My name's Sinai, leader of this pack. We are bounty hunters sent to capture or kill this woman and anybody she is working with, and in this case... I am sure my men thought you were part of her little gang.
I must say... you don't seem like any regular medic that I've ever seen before.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
He decided now was a good time to chime in. After all, the longer they could keep these men talking, the longer the woman had to get away, should she prove to really be in need of their protection. From the sound of things, she was being tailed, but not by anyone that even their own party memebers thought was a danger to her.
Only time would tell what side he and Shen should really be on.
"So...
Just what has this woman done to earn such a bounty on her head that requires so many hunters to take her down?"
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
Content that they were at least buying the woman time and she'd likely managed to flee to the relative safety of Wistvale by now, Shen gave a half-hearted hand shake in return. Really, he wasn't fond of touching people for the sake of civility. He also echoed Argent's curiosity.
"Yes, I'd quite like to know that myself. As you say, looks can be deceiving and she didn't present herself as a threat of such magnitude. Might I ask what authority you're acting upon? I dislike prying, but you'll forgive my unease with things being the way they are."
Sinai disregarded them as enemies now and looked over to the mage after shaking hands with Shen. He figured if both strangers were working for the woman, they would have already held their ground and fought them to the death, but even now he doubted they were stupid enough to attack them being outnumbered the way they were.
Which way did they go?
The mage pointed towards the direction with his staff.
That way sir.
He takes a few steps towards that direction and then turns around to look at everybody.
Okay Hesai, you are up.
The Haisheth nods and begins to dash forward towards the trees.
Sinai looks over to Shen and Argent.
Please, come with us. Everything will be explained along the way. We can not stay here any longer. It is of utmost importance that we reach her in time. If she has already been to your home town, it is in great danger as well.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
He sidesteps towards the Haisheth and raises the haft of his spear to block his path if he can, but not in a threatening manner. He then looks to the speaker.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to hear more before I go rushing in. See, I've already expended my quota of brash action today and am loath to rush off again on the word of a stranger that it's the right thing to do and promises of enlightenment and riches later. And blind devotion just doesn't suit me.
You can tell us now, and let us make our choice."
Shrug
"Or you can not. In which case we'll still have a choice to make."
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
"I'm afraid that I'm with my friend here. I don't share your concern of urgency and cannot say I'm compelled to run after her. After all, running is just tiring and I think we've done quite well to avoid sweating all over one another thus far."
Shen folded his arms, his right hand stroking the very edge of his bladed weapon, being sure it was within quick reach. He knew quite well how to launch an attack from a passive stance.
"Given that we've little information from either party, it seems we're largely a neutral pair."
Hesai stops short as the other Haisheth blocks his path. With an unsettling look on his face, he slowly turns to stare at Argent before looking over to Sinai for an order.
Sinai shakes his head as he looks over to Hesai. It was a sign of either disappointment by the stangers reactions or an order to not do whatever he had in mind. He begins to take a few steps back towards the Soren as he speaks.
Very well, lets do this your way. If this does not pursuade you to protect your very own home, then we will be forced to do it for you, even if its having to go through you to get to that woman.
Her name is Sarirhet and there is very little that we know about her, to tell you the truth. A few villages have been attacked viciously recently, not far from here, and in those villages only a few lucky poor souls have survived to describe their attackers. It is a dark army made up of mixed elven races, one never heard of before or seen. Before the attacks on each village, this woman has been described to be seen walking through the streets, questioning people, and studying the defenses on their walls. We believe she is a scout, that reports back to someone higher, who then gives the intel received to order an attack. She was already in our grasp when she escaped somehow. She is very cunning and slippery, which is why we have been ordered to kill her. We can not let her return to her master and give our location away.
He paused to let the information sink into the two fighters from Wistvale. The Soren grips his sword ready to attack if the call was given, as the mage and the Haisheth waited for their response as well. By now the Sonari was out of range of their weapons and behind his guard, the Soren. Hesai slowly raised one of his swords to touch the spear that stopped him from advancing. All eyes were going back from Shen to Argent, seeing if they chose to believe them or fight.
What is your decision?

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
"I say your information seems terribly vague to order her execution. Your 'escaped somehow' also concerns me."
Shen was quite comfortable telling them precisely what he thought, even if it meant he wasn't about to join their man-hunt. It simply made very little sense to him and he had no desire to be a naive, if hopeful hero.
"My decision is neither to fight you, or help you. There's ample guards and other interested parties within Wistvale to quell any such attack."
Shen shrugged off the matter and without any further care, he began to pack his pipe. He apparently gave less care, as he began to walk past the group and on his way. In truth, he was not foolish as to turn his back on a potential strike, but he wasn't convinced that these men would choose to attack him for simply deciding to not partake in their quarrel.
"Good day, gentlemen. I have no quarrel with you, or the woman. It's time I had a drink and prepared for the worst. Argent?"
Shen quipped about preparations with a strong smack of cynicism. He wasn't worried about the welfare of Wistvale and headed home.
::He raised his spear and used the tip to salute the Haisheth with a wink as he started to follow Shen away from the church. He was more concerned with the town, being his new home and all, but he felt that he had enough to give the Sentinels accurate descriptions of not only the woman, but the party gathered against her. Hopefully that would be enough to give them an advantage should ANY of this flarb have a hint of truth to it.
He gave a more respectful nod to the rest of the group as he passed them.::
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
The party looked on as they walked away. They did not attack or say anything as Sinai shook his head in disappointment. Whether they believed that he was telling the truth or if things did not end well finding this woman, he was sure they would find out soon and regret this decision.
Turning around he signaled to the group to continue on their search. One by one they began to get lost in the woods towards the direction Sarirhet had escaped from. Just before Hesai entered the woods with the others, he stops short and turns around to yell over to the pair from Wistvale.
Haisheth! ... Prepare your town's defenses if we do not catch her in time... Their very lives are now in your hands.
Eventhough Hesai seemed like the type to want to start fights, the concerned look on his face showed that he cared about others. He nods to him and turns around to disappear with the others in the woods. All was quiet now for both Shen and Argent as they began to return home.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
He gave another wave without turning around as he left, just as a way to acknowledge that he heard the Haisheth.
As he walked he turned to Shen.
"Not sure who we should have believed back there. The last thing I want is to find out I'm on the wrong end of the spear, so to speak.
But I tell you one thing. I plan on giving a detailed description of the lot of them to the first ranking Sentinel I see, just to be safe.
How 'bout you?"
He would continue to walk with Shen. If nothing else happened between now and finding said Sentinel, he would do just as he stated and advise the local authority of the situation.
I was born, shortsword in my hand.
Behind a shield, I'll make my final stand.
"Yes, and that's the extent of my involvement in this farce. Wistvale is far better defended than they may be anticipating, if there's any merit to what they're saying."
Shen did the same, heading for home and really, not concerned with this matter any more. There was no gold to be had and that, was a fool's game.
Still, it seemed he'd made a friend. How very odd.
