"Oh, hi. Hello. My name's Ama, sir." She said to the pale butler. "I heard this was the place to come if I wanted to train in the magical arts. I'd like to see Mr. Ravenhurst...if that's possible."
::He gave a small bow and stepped back to hold the door open for the young Haisheth.::
"Very well, ma'am. You have indeed come to the right place."
::The room inside is a small entryway with another door beyond that stood open to a hall lined with shelves of books and various knickknacks.
The entryway has a bench, which the servant gestures to.::
"Please. Wait here while I see if there is someone available for you to speak with."
::With another bow he leaves through the open doorway.::
My first thought was, he lied in every word, That hoary cripple, with malicious eye Askance to watch the workings of his lie On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford Suppression of the glee, that pursed and scored Its edge, at one more victim gained thereby.
Ama looked from the bench to the back of the gentleman as he walked through the doorway. She did not take a seat. The young demoness was far too excited to be sitting still. And sure, the entryway had its charms, but that hall lined with books and various knickknacks was too enticing to leave unlooked...so she proceeded into the hall.
::The hall extended a short distance to either side and straight ahead. Each path was lined with the shelves filled with books and curios. Most looking to have come from many cultures around the world. Any number of things could be seen here from masks, statues, taxidermied animals, plates and goblets...etc.
Spaced between the shelves at regular intervals were doors, along with doors at the end of each hall.
Judging from the way the servant had moved, you think he went to your left...::

Ama was extremely intrigued by the various bits and pieces that had been accumulated, from all over the world by the looks of it; a priceless green vase, a jet black lion statuette, a tribal mask with feathers. Some objects she could hazard a guess at their origins, whereas others were a complete mystery.
The young Haisheth continued slowly down the hall, her head tilted to read the titles written on the books. As she passed each of the closed doors, Ama keep her ears open for any voices. She wouldn't open any them though. That would just be rude in someone else's house.
The blue-haired girl decided it was probably best to return to the entryway before she got caught snooping.
::As Ama passed the doors, most were silent. Beyond a few could be heard voices talking, but the closed door muffled the sound to were it was impossible to determine the words being said. They sounded conversational tho.
When she finally decided to turn around and head back to where she was left she found the way she had come cloaked in shadow.::

Ama got the feeling that this could be part of a test. The masked guy had said there might be a few. Either that or someone was trying to scare her. Good luck!
Touching the floral charm at her neck, the blue-haired demoness cast the spell entwined with the piece of jewelry, hoping to see through the sudden darkness.
Brood Blossom Pendant A quaint item with a curse removed, the Brood Pendant is not as powerful as it was initially, but it's charm comes at no cost to the wearer. - Exceptional Accessory. - Can cast Chaos Pierce Darkness once per day, modified duration of 1/2 an hour. - 1 slot.

::The shadows fade to greys as her eyes adjust to the faint bits of light. She's not able to see as clearly as she did on her path down the hall, but it was better then nothing. She was able to make out the shelves and the gaps where the doors were.
Oh yeah...and the looming figure standing at the far end of the hall, near the entryway.
Whoever it was, the shadows were still too dark to make out features...::

Ama took a cautious step closer to the mysterious figure, wondering if she was going to have to defend herself from an attack. She wanted to reach for her dagger but thought that that might be a bit of an overreaction, so instead chose to ball up her right hand into a fist.
::A voice called back, seeming to come from the darkness as a whole, and not the shape specifically.::
"Do you always rely on petty baubles for you tricks? Or are you capable of your own Workings?
The Noctis Venator shall not become an instruction manual for every piece of treasure found by random passersby."

"I'll have you know this 'petty bauble' was a well-earned reward after a run in with a troublesome man. But if you're wanting a proper demonstration then..."
The young demoness unfurled her fist and let loose her annoyance with a flick of her wrist and a quick whispered word. A few seconds passed before a tiny flame leapt from her hand...
- Fire Dart - Effect: A lick of flame shoots from the caster's hand as a tiny, burning projectile. Range: 15 feet. AOE: One target. Cast Time: Immediate. Power: Inflicts minor damage.
::She was an intriging one, this Haiseth. She reminded him of his own daughter in many ways just from this brief encounter.
The shadows fade and the man at the end of the hall can be seen clearly as being Master Ravenhurst himself. ((not gonna describe him...you know what he looks like))::
"Why have you come here?"

Ama blew a mental raspberry. Well that was embarrassing. But she knew her magical abilities needed A LOT of work. That was, after all, the whole reason she was here, seeking an audience with...well, the man who stood before her now. Or at least she thought it was Mr Ravenhurst. Shamrock hadn't given her an actual description of the Noctis leader, but there was an air of great power about him that couldn't be denied.
"I want to learn. As you've just witnessed I need a lot of help, but I know the potential is there."

Ama thought of her grandmother, her father's mother; the matriarchal Amelia Lilly. Now that woman knew about magic!
Old Amelia Lilly had been the first member of her family in many generations to have inherited an intuition for the arcane. Being able to perform a few parlor tricks may have been fine and dandy for the lesser magi, but Ama's grandmomo wanted to channel her talents into something bigger, something awe-inspiring. With no one around to show her the way, the young Amelia Lilly had decided to read every book should could about magic and train herself every day to enhance her powers.
With every passing day, Amelia Lilly felt her magical talents becoming more refined, potent and complex, until days turned to weeks, weeks to months, months to years. I won't go into details about Amelia's long life, but she did do a lot of traveling and had many adventures. She got married and had two children, who then gave her thirteen beautiful grandchildren.
But there was a sadness in Old Amelia Lilly's heart. Her husband had passed away seven years prior to her last grandchild's birth, but that had only been part of her hidden sorrow. The truth was, as they grew up, none of her family showed any sign of being magically-inclined...
...until your youngest grandchild, a blue-haired girl who had been named after her, reached the age of four. The little Amelia Lilly junior had seen her grandmomo conjure a fireball, to set the logs in the fireplace alight, and within a few minutes the little Haisheth held a tiny flame cupped within her palms. Old Amelia Lilly was so happy to finally have someone in her family that shared her gift. She made plans to mentor the girl and guide her, as she had not been guided, down the path to greatness.
But death had other plans for Old Amelia Lilly and, a few weeks after this happy revelation, Ama's grandmomo left this world for good.
Ama now suffered pangs of guilt for not having trained herself, as her grandmother had, and hoped that her grandmomo was not too disappointed in her. And if she was, then the blue-haired Haisheth girl wanted to change that and make Old Amelia Lilly proud. From this day forth, she would train as hard as she could and learn as much as she could from Mr Ravenhurst.
"I will devote my whole life to studying." There was a determination in her voice. "Even if that means I only become half as great as my grandmother."
