Having once again taken up permanent residence in Highever, Serenity has become accustomed to renting a room when visiting Wistvale at the usual tavern. It is always the same room each visit to help establish a sense of familiarity when coming 'home.'
To solidify this, the Lady of House Howle always sends a letter with some gold ahead of her to make sure it is reserved and cleaned. Well, 'some' gold would be an understatement.

After having escaped from Serenity and the Sentinels, Redblade took a second to catch his breath and think things through. He still felt horrible having let loose a darkling to attack the one of the few people that believed him. How could he trust him now, he thought to himself.
Things were getting too complicated in his life, and he was stressing out. Without a clue of what to do now, the only thing that mattered to him was the safety of this kind woman that tried to help him.
He remembered where he had heard that she spent the nights and decided to visit her to apologize and clear things up and even ask for a favor that might be too much to ask.
Arriving near the room she would rent, he scanned the area to see if there were any guards waiting for him. He remained in the shadows. After the attack on her maybe they placed security over her to keep her safe.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
There were no guards posted by Serenity's door and the rest of the hall was unpopulated. There was only the occasional sound of a shuffle behind the inn rooms and the clatter of glass from down the stairs that led to the tavern.
Red was free to make an attempt at the door without hindrance.
Redblade walks up to the door to her room. It all seemed too easy for him, which only made things seem more difficult. For a mage like her, it was most certainly a trap.
He places both hands over his mouth and blows out some magical dust towards the door and its surrounding area. He did not want to try and open the door if it was trapped.

Just when he was about to try and unlock the door, he decided to knock and see if she was already home.
*Knock knock

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
Red could hear a chair slide behind the door. A brief, tense moment of silence passed before the rogue felt a strange sensations about him. He could feel a sort of breeze around him, at first gentle, but then suddenly, as if by a large man, it pushed and shoved him through Serenity's door.
Red found himself hitting the floor boards of Serenity's room with the wind quickly dissipating. When he looked up he could see the pointy end of a rapier aimed between his eyes.
"Redblade?"
Serenity stood before him looking quite intense, as to be expected. With a wave of her hand a magical breeze closed her door shut. She was not at all calm about his presence.
"What are you doing here? And don't you dare move a hand."
Good thing he knocked, he thought to himself. Things could have went alot worse. Although his entrance left him in awe, more and more he began to notice that she was no ordinary mage. Not even his former master Alex had shown so much magic and power before.
He remained still when he responded to her.
I... I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier and to make sure you were okay.
I did not mean to cause you no harm.... It was merely an intent to hold the Sentinals back. You seem to be in a much better condition than I expected, I must say. I have never seen anybody so skilled in the arts of magic as you have shown me. At one time I studied under Master Alexander from the Nocturne... But then I lost it all.
I know I shouldn't be here, but I need a favor and I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't so urgent. Would you listen to my request? Or will you turn me in? As you can see, I did not come here to fight or do I intend in running away this time.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
With the tip of the blade still looking to pierce between his eyes, Serenity backed away one step and motioned with her sword for Red to stand. As he did, the sword would continue to train on a fatal area, this time his heart.
"Most send for me through the inn keeper. Remember that if there is to be a next time."
Day light was peering through the window and directly at a desk Serenity had been sitting at before Red's interruption; the chair had slid out of the way and documents were neatly arranged on the wood top. The room appeared to be nicer than one would expect from the humble tavern inn. It had fine linen and fixtures that one might find in a more royal accommodation, perhaps a design of Lady Howle during her spare time.
Redblade admired the atmosphere of the room. It seemed calm and just a place for anybody to call "home". It was nice and clean yet simple, but above all elegant.
Well mi'lady, I do have a bad name posted in about every single wall on this little town and I doubt that it would look good for you to be connected to me in any way.
I do apologize for the interruption.
As for what I have come to ask from you, I need a back up plan for confronting Piper when I go back to him empty handed. I feel as if he will see through my mask and know that I am betraying him.
You said earlier that you have connections in high places, and I know you can't clean my name with the Sentinals, but I need you to get word out to the Vanguards. If they want Piper, and I assume they do, have them keep watch over the house he has hid me under. Sooner or later he will come for me. When he is trapped, they can take me in as well for any laws that I have broken.
I do not want him harming anybody else. I've seen what he is capable of and although I have yet to see his full power. I know I can't do this alone.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
As Serenity listened her shoulders relaxed and eventually the sword was sheathed as she stumbled back into her desk chair. However, she had not left herself entirely defenseless. Three smooth stones, resting by the window sill, suddenly levitated and floated above Serenity's twirling fingers. She appeared as a mobster with a loaded crossbow, waiting for an excuse to pull the trigger.
"I've not forgotten how you've taken the poison in my stead, granted without knowing that it was poisoned. Still, I'd probably not be here right now were it not for you."
Her legs crossed as her violet eyes stared intently at Red. With the atmosphere between them becoming a little less tense, the rogue was able to appreciate a floral aroma coming off of Serenity, her perfume no doubt. The blouse she wore had frills going up a v pattern up to her neck from the chest. The slightest glisten from her oil application could be seen on her neck and slightly lower.
"What gave you the impression I knew the Vanguard? They are illusive rogues that keep watch over Wistvale and I leave them to that work. I never had the pleasure of a meeting or knowing who among them walk these streets."
Her eyes rolled for thought, and the expression on her face became hard to read. Red wasn't sure if she trusted him or there was no way for Serenity to help him.
"Do you have anyone you can trust outside of Wistvale? The best that I could do at this moment is smuggle you on a ship."
With a disappointed look on his face, he began to walk back towards the door.
It was only fool's hope that someone of your class and political connections would probably know someone of that group.
I do not really know anybody outside of Wistvale. This is the only home I have now, and the reason I would die defending it and the people within it. I'm a nobody who is only trying to do what is right in my heart. Piper harmed two women I have built a bond with, tho they may not know it yet nor would they still see me as a friend for joining Piper, but I do intend on avenging the pain they went through chasing after him that one night. Thats not even mentioning the countless others who have lost something because of him.
And don't think I've forgotten of the person who tried poisoning you as well. I will find him and bring him before you to deal with when the time comes.
Red places his mask on ready to make his leave as he reaches for the door knob. It was hard to turn away from a woman so attractive in every way, but he knew she was way out of his league. A man like him and the lifestyle he lived was doomed to die alone.

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
She finally put down her floating stones and rose from her seat to walk over to a pipe that stuck out of the wall. When Serenity opened the lid she spoke into it,
"Stanley? Are you there?"
An echo rose from the other end, "Yes, Ms. Serenity."
"Can you get a taxi for me? I'll be heading out." "Of course, she'll be outside in a minute."
With that, the Lady Howle picked up her rapier and began for the door.
"I have another option for you, though you may not like it. Still, I believe it to be your best chance of dealing with these forces that haunt you so. Will you take it?"
Redblade stopped before exiting the room and removed his mask, holding it barely under his chin as he thought about the offer. Where would she send him to and could he trust her, were questions that clouded his mind. He stepped back and looked over at Serenity again after a few minutes passed by, that felt like an eternity.
Why would she send him anywhere that would not be safe if she could have easily have killed him or turned him over to the Sentinels if she wanted to already.
Why would I not like this option?

"I fought the law and then I was broken out... Is that a bad thing?"
"Because you'd be dealing with a man I despise most in this world. However, he is the only one I can think of at this moment to keep you safe. Under what circumstances, I couldn't tell you."
Serenity headed out the door and motioned for Red to follow her.
Outside of the tavern a taxi led by a single horse waited with the driver standing by to open the door to his cab for Serenity. The distance they planned to travel wasn't far, but the Lady thought this would be best for Red in order to get around town without being noticed.
Once she and Red hopped in, the door closed and the driver hopped up to his seat.
"Where to, Ms. Serenity?" "The docks, specifically to The Redeemer."
Redblade may recognize the name of the Sellsword Ship and base in Wistvale.
