Ivy's aqua eyes scanned the crowds around Wistvale as she walked around listening to the hum of voices and thinking about what, or who, she was looking for. She had been around long enough that she knew who she should listen to for information about anything around town, and one of those things was information on a group of Mercenaries who went by the name of Sellswords. Ivy was planning on asking to join, so she could get more money and perhaps find out if someone had any information at all on Sera, who she hadn't seen around, nor had the girl told her she was leaving. It worried her, but she was certain her friend could take care of herself. She just wanted information for now, but that would be for later; IF she got accepted. She was unsure of where to go and who to look for, but thought the docks looked liek a good place to go to find mercenaries, so thats where she started walking towards, arriving quickly as she was rather close in the first place. "Excues me." she turned to the first person she saw. "Have you heard of the sellswords?"
::The man she stopped leered at her. His eyes traveling up and down her form in a way a child might look at their favorite special dessert. With open hunger and desire.::
"You lookin' to hire some men, Luv? Don't you worry about that lot. You don't look like you have the coin to stir them from the Chest."
::He takes a shaky step closer to you, the smell of alcohol ripe on his breath.::
"I, however, would be willing to ah...fill your needs...and for alot less than those rotters."
Ivy took a few quick steps back, one of her scowls plastered on her face and aimed at the man making advances on her. "Im not looking to hire, you filthy creep." she snapped back in a disgusted tone. "Im looking to join." She was glad she chose to look around the docks; she could use water to keep the man still if she needed to. "All I need is directions and Ill be on my way." Ivy reached around to her back and grasped her bow, slipping it off her shoulder and completely into her hand, taking yet another step back and hoping she could find the group soon.
::Two people in armor with purple cloaks take notice of whats going on and begin to head your way.
The man before you takes a look at the bow and seems about to give some kind of sarcastic comment by the twist of his mouth when he notices the advancing pair.::
"Bah! They're at the Treasured Chest!"
::He points off to your right and scurries off before the armored duo get any closer.::
Ivy frowned thoughtfully as the man left, sending a quick smile and wave to the people in the purple cloaks before she went back to thinking. Treasured chest? Was there a chest around here, or was it a bar? Ivy sighed and almost looked around to find a place to sit when she realized the cloaked people would probably know. Excited, she straightened her shoulders and back and began walking towards the pair who had been on the way over earlier. "Excuse me. Have either of you heard of the Treasured chest?"
::The cloaked pair slow, but continue to advance on Ivy as the man that accosted her runs off.
They stop as you reach each other. One takes a few steps past you and watches down the street in the direction the man fled. The other stops in front of you. His eyes take you in, but not in the way the first man had. This was more of an assessment. Like he was sizing you up in reguards to how dangerous he thought you were. He makes a gesture to your bow with his free hand, the other on his sword hilt on his waist.::
"I see you managed to run him off. But still, best you put that away, ma'am, before you start scaring the rest of the town."
"As to the Chest, I have to say you don't seem the like to be looking for work there, but yes, we've heard of it. Keep heading along the docks and you can't help but find it. Just... keep your weapons to yourself please."
Ivy nodded her understanding as the man spoke, slipping her bow back onto her back and feeling silly that she had forgotten she had not placed it back when the drunk man walked away. "Im sorry." she told him quickly so she could listen to what he was saying. The Chest was a place then? Ivy figured it was probably a bar. "Thank you, sir." she smiled happily before moving past him, keeping her eyes moving as she looked for the Treasured Chest.
::You continue down the docks in the direction that you were shown, yet none of the buildings you pass show any sign of being called the Treasured Chest.
You reach the dry dock area which marks this end of the docks, and still there is nothing of note. As you look about in the hopes of some sign of your destination, your eyes fall upon the back of a large sailing ship, where a name is tooled into the wood in large, ornate letters.::
The Treasured Chest
::It is berthed near the dry docks in an area meant for long term stowage. A small wooden walkway extends from the main docks to run along one side of the ship where a wooden ramp has been built to go up to the deck of the ship. The biggest figure you have ever seen stands at the foot of the ramp with arms crossed over his chest. All four of them...::
Ivy took a deep breath as she looked up at the figure with the four arms. That was rather intimidating, but she looked forward at him and stopped a few feet in front of him. "Excuse me. Im looking for the Sellswords. Are you part of the group?" She hoped he wouldnt just turn her away, or not bother to listen to her when she asked to join. Or crush her if he found her annoying. Ivy frowned to herself at the thought.
::The man gave her only the barest of glances before continuing to watch along the docks as if she was of no consequence at all. When he spoke, it was in a voice that was low and sounded like stone grinding together.::
"Leave your weapons."
::One arm pulled free and gestures with a hand wrapped in leather and sharp bits of metal, to a table beside him that is strewn with all manner of implements of death. Some large, some small, most deadly looking. A few quite spectacularly so...::
Ivys face dropped but she complied, slipping her beloved bow off her shoulder and gently placing it on the table and taking her knife from its hiding place under her dress and settting it next to her bow. She wasnt too sure if that was where she had to put them, but its looked like a good enough place to her. "I want to join." she informed him, feeling rather undressed without her weapons.
::He made no move or expression to indicate what he thought of this declaration, but instead took a half step to the side to make room for Ivy to ascend the rampway to the deck above.
As you near the top you can hear yelling and the sounds of steel ringing on steel. As your eyes pass above the deck of the ship so you can see what awaits you you see men sparing with weapons on the prow. In the center of the ship you see some people gathered in a line at a table. The person at the table appears to be a human male with neatly maintained brown hair and glasses. He appears to be talking to each person in turn and shuffling through piles of parchment.
There are others milling about the ship, a few with bows or crossbows slung across their backs, but none that stand out to you at the moment.
Two guards stand at the top of the ramp with polearms crossed to block your way. When you reach them, one calls out...::
Ivy eyes were on the crossbows as soon as she saw them. She found them interesting, although she preferred her own kind of bow, she still admired the crossbow. When one of the guards spoke to her, Ivys eyes snapped to his face. Her business? Finally she could get to the point and hopefully join. "Im here because I would like to join the Sellswords." she informed him, shuffling from foot to foot in her nervousness and excitement.
::The guards face quivered around the mouth as he tried to maintain a straight face. The movement crawled up to become a twitch just under his eye before he could hold it back no longer and his laughter burst forth like water from a broken dam.
He about doubled over and was using his polearm for support to keep himself on his feet and the noise was attracting the attention of the rest of the people on the ship as eyes turn to the encounter.
The other guard stepped up quickly and between much more controled laughter he says...::
