I figured a permanent thread to post questions and comments here that I miss in the chat would be nifty. That or for anyone really. We have varied time zones and most days I see something in the chat I could answer, but no one is about.
Lemme start with a couple of things floating about. If you've non idea what I am talking about, don't worry; someone does.
I am not making item powers standardized or having names. It's too big a task and really, is the adverse to what we have done in the store. Every item in the store is unique for the most part and people can create custom items because they don't want others having their nifty ability. Like the Vanguard hood. Strictly members only. You pay a little more for the privilege, but I understand people don't want to come up with something they really want to rp and then see other people decide they like it like the latest fashion. Also, pricing this would quite frankly be a giant nightmare. We have made entire crafting systems in the past and everyone has been a spectacular failure. Our store is balanced, varied and I think is swell as is.
Arrows. Not thrilled on this idea for a couple of reasons. Balance being the first. Other weapons don't use ammunition. Having a magical bow then doubled up with magical arrows makes for a balance issue I don't even want to contemplate. If we did have arrows, I couldn't abide them being unlimited, which would not coincide with say, throwing knives. You would carry a stock of them, pay dearly for them, need a quiver for them, there goes your additional slot and so on. It's a headache and complicates things a little more than I would like in a game that has thrived on simplicity. IF you would like a bow that shoots sticky arrows, either create one or order it custom. And by the way, arrows aren't light. I know this from first hand experience. By the time you pack your quiver and decide to romp around with it bouncing all over the damn place, you don't carry a lot of arrows.
There was something else but Hex made me forget it, so hit me up with any questions. Thanks If you decide you need a full blown discussion, feel free to make a thread dedicated to it.
