As Zane walked over to the switch, she frantically tried to get them to stop.
I don't know what that thing is! You can't just--oh. Ooooohhhhhhh...... Her voice dropped an octave after he flipped the switch.
I knowwww what that was...that was the morality core they installed to after I flooded the facility with a deadly neurotoxin to stop me from flooding the facility with a deadly neurotoxin.
Green gas poured in from vents high in the walls. It was thick enough that Serenity may be able to keep it away for a bit, but eventually it would displace the oxygen in the room. Another panel opened up on the other side of the crystal, with its own switch.
Good luck with that neurotoxin, morons. I won't need your brains anyway.

Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
Looking up to see the vents open, pouring deadly neurotoxin, Serenity glared at the golden crystal. Though she didn't exactly think about it at that moment, the fight between she and the crystal seemed to be similar to what tavern goers referred to as a "cat fight". Though at one Cathian dominant community it made much more sense.
Serenity took in another deep gulp of air and looked up at the ceiling. She expelled her wind high up in a powerful stream, and then began a rotating motion with her arms for a moment, commanding the wind to spin rapidly, creating a vacuum that would force the toxin back into its vents.
She held her arms tight now to keep focus on the maneuver.
"Hurry, Zane! It won't be long till I force all the oxygen in the room out as well!"
Typical meatbag. So concerned with the chemical processes in that tiny little shriveled organ you call a brain. I'm the smartest being in the universe. I'm not bragging, that's an objective fact.
The next switch flipped, and the crystal buzzed and mumbled as several rods descended from the ceiling. Lightning jolted down from them into the ground. A stray bolt hit another panel, and the front of it fell open.
Thank you for activating the thermal discouragement beams...I wondered why those weren't on. And don't bother with the rest of the switches, those won't overload the system at all.
Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
Serenity stopped controlling the wind, forcing it to disperse and allow the poison to come back in again. Bending on both knees to touch the ground with her hands, she quickly rose back up and carried a wall of earth over her head to prevent the beams from attacking her directly,
"You've got to be...bloody whore," she muttered to herself.
She kept the rock up as long as she could, the mage panted heavily, having exhausted herself a little and gasped for what little air she could muster before the gas enveloped the room. Now came the time to think of whether to use it for another attack or to live just a few moments longer.
The next switch was pulled, and the crystal seemed to panic for a moment, buzzing and sparking. As it did so, several metallic objects dropped from the ceiling, unfolding into the same meal creatures they fought earlier.
Yes, the emergency military android dispenser. That'll help you live. Nice job breaking it, hero. One of the robots accidentally hit the last panel as it unfolded, knocking off the cover.
Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
Zane tries dodging the robots, lightning bolts, all while still holding his breath and making his way to the last switch. Putting his hand on it, he looks directly into the crystal, and flips the switch.
Putting down the rock, Serenity blew out her last bit of air all around her in a circle to push back violently the robots that had fallen from the ceiling.
Gasping now, she looked at the crystal to see if that last switch was the one they needed to finally shut her down.
Zane put his hands on his knees and starts breathing deeply
"That... Took... Forever... But, at least we're done... Now I'd like to find my gold and whatever artifacts I can loot, and get the heck out of here."
Zane looks around the room for a bit, seeing if there were any hidden places to loot stuff from, any loose crystals that he could pry off the walls, or if any of the golems had parts worth anything
Serenity sighed, thankful it was finally over, "I just want to leave doctor, but if you find something I might like be sure to let me know."
Her knees aching a little, and her throat a tad stressed from her earlier attack given a burning sensation she felt, Serenity began to walk towards the elevator.
Before she passed the crystal, she couldn't help but walk around it a little to see if there was something of value near it, to make up for all this she thought.
Nothing in this room was obviously worth anything, but they noticed a sign that read "Finished? Get you 60 gold here!" and pointed up into the elevator.
Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
If I ever meet that man in the next life I'm going to strangle him...
Serenity took off from her looking and walked over to the end of the room where the "elevator" was.
"Zane...I'm glad you're not an evil blood mage pretending to be a doctor. That way I won't have any problems visiting your office after this, I fear I may need it for this headache I'm getting."
