Aegil rolled her eyes at the girls naiveness. "I have no use for friends. They only cause problems." She paused then added "You have the world view of a child, but one day you will discover just how cold this world can be. Just how far one can fall. How much one can lose. Or maybe not" she shrugged. "Maybe you will be lucky and stay an ignorant child forever." She almost sounded wistfull, even jelous.

Ivy shot the woman a glare. "Im not a child. i grew up making sure the boys of my village wouldnt end up killing me like they wanted, and trying to kill my best friend and i wasnt there to protect her when they almost did." she had a tormented look on her face, talking now as if to herself. "When i got there to her that night, she had killed 6 boys, the very ones who had bothered us. They had their throats ripped out and their stomachs were torn apart. I took the blame while she went to get control of garm." her eyes got more focused now and she turned back to Aegil. "Ive never been a child, never played the games children do. Never had more then one friend until recently, and it does help."

"Fascinating" she replied, dryly. "As much as its been delightful to listen to your story, perhaps it is better if I take my leave." she dusted herself and stood, her expression cold and emotionless. "Everyone has a black past, everyone has their secrets and skeletons and demons. Its who makes us as we are. Our choices. Whether we fight or run. Whether we die living in the past, or live dying for a future. You can't change what you have done, nor your... 'friend'.. But your future is still unwritten, and you still have something to fight for. So shut your mouth. Open your eyes. And keep stepping one foot in front of the other. Don't ignore the past, you still need to learn the lessons it teaches us, but do not live in it. Or you..." she closed her eyes and turned to the door. "Your no better then dead."

Ivy stood up too, and crossed her arms. "Im not going to be dead anytime soon, nor is Sera." She huffed at the woman. "And all I was trying to do was help you. I know what its kile to have no one, and I thought you might like to know someone wants to be friends."

Ivy raised an eyebrow. "Well, I sure dont see other people running to be friends with you. So I figured why not me?" She shrugged.

Ivy crossed her arms. "I am not a fool." She shot back. "Sorry for trying to be friends. I can see you really dont want any." She felt bad for the dirty woman. "But if you ever change you mind, you can always come to me." She was starting to think Aegil would never change her mind though.

It was as if she had heard the girls thoughts. "I can assure you my feelings on the matter shall not change." She turned on her heel to leave, believing this whole endeavor to be a foolhardy one.

Not sure what to do and wanting the woman to both stay and go, she said the first thing that came to her mind. "What kind of a childhood did you have?" She asked, guessing it must have been hard if Aegil spoke to her like she was.

Aegil paused, repressing a deep sigh. "I had no such thing, and I would request you do not press thematter..."She looked thoughtful and added as an afterthought. "Perhaps if I come to... trust in you... I will tell you more... however" her cold smile matched her biting tone. "I highly doubt that will ever become a possibilty." Withoutwaiting another moment she snapped her hood over her features and strode from the home, the door shutting with a noisy thump behind her.

Ivy frowned as she watched the door close harshly behind the haggard looking woman. She didn't bother going after Aegil this time, as it did indeed seem the matter was closed, at least for the time being. With a sigh, and a slight, lingering look at the shut door, Ivy turned around and walked to her bed, glad the day was finally over.
A short time after, a Soren found himself tromping through the forest, once again looking for the special herbs that he cooked into the rosy fragrance he so often wore. He was in a portion of the woods he was not entirely familiar with, in search of a closer area to find the components. After hours of searching, Miroslaw had come up with... nothing. At last, another failed pursuit of closer herbs. It seems the giant was destined to trek miles just to smell good.
Just as he was about to give up and head home he spotted something quite out of the ordinary. It was a cottage almost camouflaged into the forest. With the intricate woodwork along with the mosses and ivy that grew upon it, Miroslaw just about missed it at first glance. His first thoughts were hopes that it had been abandoned and he could claim it as his own. His second thoughts were that of fear. Despite it looking cozy, there may well have been a vicious being living inside.
Miroslaw scanned around for any presence that may be lurking about before he slowly and carefully began moving towards the cottage. As much as he tried to step carefully, his massive feet caused light earthquakes and dry twigs trembled at his coming. He never did have a knack for subtlety. When he came to the door, he would simply knock thrice and wait to see if there was an answer. His hand rest upon the hilt of his sword over his right shoulder should a monstrosity answer.

Ivy's eyes snapped open, vision blurry from having just been asleep. There was something outside...and it was loud. Her lips twitched upwards at the corner at the thought of a fight, mostly due to having been woken up so suddenly. Feet hitting the floor softly, the brunette rushed to the small spot on the wall she kept her precious bow and arrow, eyes darting to the door at the sound of knocking as she lifted the bow into her hands and grabbed an arrow, knocking, creeping to the door. She shoved her long brown hair out of her face before she grabbed the door handle and threw it open, swinging her bow up into position, knocking her arrow seconds later, fumbling a little as she still had sleep in her eyes. The tiny archer stared up at the giant in front of her and glared, eyes tired but bright and shining, and lifted an eyebrow at the man.
Miroslaw grew disappointed when he heard faint sounds from within the cottage. That told him it was certainly not vacant and thus, not up for the taking. The thoughts of him and Evelynn roaming the woods once more, quickly vanished. They were replaced by the thoughts of Evelynn being cooped up in a shack having to roam the streets for rats when Miroslaw was out. A pitiful thought.
He was so lost in the disappointment, it took him a moment to realize that he could actually have brought danger upon himself. There was no telling what may be lurking behind the door. Just as the realization came back to him, the door flung open to unveil a wee miss with a bitty bow. He was not sure whether to regard the girl as an enemy or if she had her weapon for the sake of cautious. That is when she spoke to clarify.
He moved his hand from his sword hilt nonchalantly, “Urm...” His eyes set, uneasily, on the bow that was primed to blast an arrow in him. “Well, lass, I just found your cottage here and it sparked my curiosity.” He really was not sure what else to say, except saying precisely what it was. Miroslaw made certain not to make any threatening moves or gestures. In fact, he was fairly still apart from his hand moving from his sword hilt.
