She dropped to her knees beside him. She had a terrible feeling that knot on his head was going to look horrible in the daylight. The laughter cut off and she brushed her hand across his forehead.

He flailed about wildly, that bloody well hurt! He groaned as he clambered his way to sitting at least, beside her in a puddle and looking truly forlorn. He looked a little ashamed at his carrying on and pinched the corner of mouth, twiddling his fingers. He was truly embarrassed now.
"I'm sorry... I look pretty stupid, huh?"

Ely smiled at him. He looked so... lost. A raptor without his wings.
"It's not your fault. I cheated. I'm sorry."
Her voice was actually contrite. She hadn't meant to send him stumbling away to get into his pants and she certainly had not wanted him to bash his head against a tree.
"Here, come on. Let me help. I've got something at the house that can cure the headache."

Kiga only nodded solemnly and got to his feet, fixing his shirt and then grabbing his other gear to trudge along beside her. His head was pounding but it was nothing much to worry about. He could shrug it off, in fact he'd had much worse and ignored it...
... but she just made him feel so... well vulnerable. The oddest thing about that was this. He was ok with that.
So he followed Ely to her home, not having much of anything to say and quite agreeable to having her mend his head.
