Since Quick was sweet enough to leave the last one for her, she couldn't help but smile brilliantly. Brandishing her sword and clutching it in her hands, she swung along the tree branch using her legs to hold her in place, and drove the hilt of her sword into the bandit's face. Then, she released her legs to drop upon the bandit, crossing them, and hoped to drag him straight into the ground. Before she hit the ground, she stuck her sword into it first, using it for balance as she kicked off of his shoulders, twirling around the sword as she did so.
Quick whistled as Tallia showed off her limberness as well as combat prowess. He did have an eye for people after all.
The last bandit fell with ease and the party was good to go.
"Not bad, maybe I should've left them all for you." he tipped his hat to her.
Not bothering with the bandits any longer, Quick returned to pick up their camp. When he finished returning the goods to his sack, he slung it over his shoulders ready to move out.
"We should get going before more hill folk decide to see us."
Before he set off, he turned to Tallia, "That was some fancy foot work you got there, did your mother teach you that too?"
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
"Well I wasn't about to leave you behind, especially after all we gone through already," he winked at her, "Now let's get moving, don't want to be late."
The two traveled out of the woods and unto a road for a while before moving into the wilderness again. Quick and Tallia eventually climbed some elevated terrain and came through a mountain pass that overlooked a road far below. The whole trip took a little over three hours.
They found some suitable ground to make camp and Quick began to unload his sack again, this time laying out some flat mats for bedding. Their camp was near a ledge that overlooked some rapids aside from the road they would be stalking.
"We made pretty good time I think, especially since we had to deal with those fool men back then." Quick said.
The sun was setting over the bright orange horizon, and the sound of crickets could be heard in the distance.
"Fray and his boys probably made camp far on the other side of the road by now." Quick said as he fetched out a heavy blanket from his bag, tossing it over to Tallia's mat.
"We can't build a fire here, merchant train will probably have their own people scouting ahead to make sure it's safe to travel. Fray expects the train should be passing by here early morning, before the sun reaches it's highest."
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
She gave a nod to Quick to show her comprehension. Walking over to and arranging the mat Quick set out for her nicely, she sat down to give her feet some rest.
"Do... does that mean... one of us... s-should be... a lookout...?"
Glancing over at the chains around Quick, she tilted her head a bit.
"...and... you... aren't going to sleep... w-with those... are you...?"
"Well, I did want to go further ahead and see how far along our boys are, but I guess we walked enough for one day."
He was looking over the ledge when Tallia brought up his chains, he turned around to see her gaze following them.
"Ah, these beauties? I got a leather underneath them, no skin off my bones. Besides I feel a bit naked without em', know what I mean?" he finished with a chuckle.
The mercenary returned to looking over the ledge, possibly deciding a plan of action for tomorrow, when he returned his gaze over to Tallia.
"Don't suppose you're hungry again? If you are I can get something before the sun completely sets. Otherwise I don't think we'll get much a chance tomorrow less you think we could make time before the job. I wouldn't mind personally, but every second counts when we get up in the morning."
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Quick raised an eyebrow at her question, not entirely sure what she meant by it, but he supposed that curiosity was getting the better of this cat. He grinned at the idea.
Taking off his hat, revealing a combed back head, he tossed the big rim over to Tallia where it landed at her feet. Quick then stepped closer to the edge, turned to give Tallia a salute, and fell backwards from the great height towards the rapids below.
From where she stood, Tallia only saw Quick fall over and not to where he fell exactly.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Her mind was filled with panic as she scrambled onto her feet, messing up her bedding in the process, and ran over to the cliff, nearly leaping off herself. She looked down, despite a nasty feeling in her stomach telling her not to...
He picked up his hat from the ground and dusted it a bit before putting it back on. Then Quick proceeded to walk up behind Tallia and look down as she was.
"You ain't gonna find me down there, unless you were lookin to catch a salmon in those rapids, I hear it's their spawning season."
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Quick shook the chains around his waist, "More than just an accessory." he winked.
He stretched out his right arm till it was fully extended, then a little rattle could be heard under the coat. Tallia could see something moving under the coat sleeves, like a snake sneaking it's way out before it's noticed. Then she saw the tip of it, shining in the remaining light of the sun.
A spear head of sorts slowly came out of Quick's sleeve, as if alive on it's own, attached to the chain. The spear head then pointed at Tallia, as if it discovered a snack and rose above her, pointed downward directly at her skull.
Another spear head came from the back of Quick's coat, also attached to the chain, it slithered out to join it's brother as if curious to see what the commotion was about, then like the other it pointed it's tip at Tallia.
Suddenly, both ends of the chain slowly arced around the cat from opposite sides in a wide arc, as if tempting the idea to just squeeze her alive.
"More than just an accessory," Quick repeated almost grimly.
Suddenly both snakes pulled back into Quick's coat as the chain around his waist began to reel them back in.

Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia sat staring at the two metal snakes as they slithered around her, wondering what they were doing. When they retracted suddenly, she felt herself jump a little. Was it magic...? Was he a puppeteer? She wasn't even sure of what to ask first about those things... Moving closer to Quick, she circled him, trying to trace any movement in his coat.
"Um... ho... how do you... d-do you even... do that...?"
Almost tempted to poke the chains with her finger, she kept it hovering around Quick, as though she was ready to strike them at any moment.
Quick stood in place as Tallia walked around him, amused at her trying to figure him out, his eyes followed her as she passed in front of him.
"You never seen metal magic? That's how I do it, darlin', simple as that."
Quick stretched out his arms and rolled his neck. Though he showed Tallia his 'secret' ability, he seemed a little reluctant to go into more detail beyond that.
"We should be getting ready for bed, or you should, I'll be staying up for first watch. But before that..."
He went to take a seat at his bed roll and invited Tallia to do the same on hers.
"We need to talk about what's going to happen tomorrow so you can think about it on the way there. I'll probably be doing the same while I keep watch tonight."
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Taking up the invitation, she promptly went back to her roll, fixing up the disaster she had created earlier before resting upon it. With her hands in her lap, she gave him her undivided attention.
