No...no. We'd have roughed them up by now. We don't have nay leads, except for the other team from Highever. If we accuse them of anything, we won't be able to play away games, so we're stuck.

"If I promise to investigate the incident surrounding Johnnyboy will you all promise to do me a favor? I need a Flarb-Ball team to compete against the Red Herrings in a tournament."
We're willing to play with them if they realize we didn't do anything. Which they will, if you prove we were innocent. The Reds aren't bad guys....rowdy and a little violent, but they have an honor to them.

The woman looked around at some of the other players.
Probably some of us. I didn't think that was a sport, though.

A few of them nodded and laughed at that. The woman's frown nearly lifted.
We'll discuss that if and when you find out what happened to Johnnyboy. But it looks like the guys are willing. Maybe some of the Reds, too.

Outside town, near the old well to the north. The woman paused, looking at Orp.
Hey...find out what happened, okay? I don't like fighting with the Reds.

Orp leaves and heads towards the council headquarters. He starts looking for any criminal records of the Reds or the Sharks, specifically if there was any record of the Johnnyboy incident. He looked to see if there was any specific investigator who looked into the matter.
The council records were slim; this must have happened one of the times that Margrett or Grayell were away and no one else was able to pick up the slack. It was documented that Johnnyboy had been killed, but whoever had written it down had thought it was the Sharks as well. There was no mention of a Highever plot, but information was so slim that anything could have been missed in the investigation. It wasn't that long ago, actually; maybe not all the evidence at the scene of the crime had been destroyed.
The Reds and Sharks weren't very tough gangs; mostly they had a few disturbing the peace and petty theft violations. It was noted that they had mainly been informal social clubs for young Flarb Ball enthusiasts....until the incident with Johnnyboy had cemented the Reds/Sharks rivalry.

The area was muddy, almost swampy, being in a very low place. Orp could see the footprints and tracks from carriages, almost washed away. The records said his body had been found slumped against the well itself, a rundown, broken thing in the middle of the muddy field.
