Orp lays his blueprint down on the desk. It shows a map of wistvale with a few new modifications and additions. The town square was replaced with a large arena-style sitting area and a track had been marked out in blue through main roads and a few backstreets. Some shortcuts had been marked in red.
A second sheet shows a loose schedule of events: Archery contest, arm wrestling, a race through town, a flarb-ball match and a heavy-thing-throwing competition.
The construction guild had been on his back for months about not having any large contracts and the roaming athletic gangs had been scaring children away for a while now as well. A bit of dipping into council funds would easily be repaid in ticket sales and some hiked up food prices.

He goes to the alleyway behind the harbormaster's near the docks. He can hear the rhythmic thwacking sound as he approaches, and some laughing and jeering.

Orp drops his stances lower as he rounds the corner towards the docks. crouches behind some barrels or crates or any similar rubbish and tries to get a good look at what was making the sounds.
A man was tied up and lying against the wall. Some of the gang members were taking turns kicking a ball against the wall, hitting the man over and over, toying with him.

A few of the men noticed Orp, and pointed to him, laughing. They stopped kicking the ball for a moment, and one of them spoke up.
What you gonna do about it, cyclops? He's on our turf, he knows what happens when he messes with us.
A couple of them dramatically cracked their knuckles and grinned at Orp.

True to their sporty nature, one of them caught the coin and examined it, biting it a little. He nodded and turned to the group. There was some murmuring.
We're listening.

So you pay us to play ball? Doesn't sound bad. Who we playing against?
