Grayell had listened to their conversation, though his teasing, curious hands might have suggested otherwise to Kiko. He wiped his face with a wet hand though and then leaned back, allowing the water and dim light to keep her concealed rather than his arms.
So. What you're saying is this. A whole bunch of bad juju accumulates, builds up this residual crap energy... but that cesspool of crap has enough power to take on a form. A conscience, although single minded and rather base in nature.
Kiga wasn't much for such notions... but then he had no fear of the dark either. He looked at the water with an almost humored but disinterested look on his face.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
Mulling what Gray said in his mind over, Alec laughs. It's short, but it's genuine. "Yeah, I guess. Easiest way to say it, that. But see, the 'bad juju' accumulates in the residual energy, see?" Then he tilts his head and shrugs. "Maybe on it, actually. No one's really sure. But, you did get the gist about perfectly."
Then, looking to Kiga, Alec nods. "Sort of. But in a much more physical sense than your usual haunting."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Grayell looks to Kiga and then Alec... and smiles a little.
But a haunting can be a physical manifestation can it not? A haunting would be identified as an entity, spirit or otherwise 'ghost' that is attached to a person, place or thing if I am not mistaken... and it sounds like such a residual being would be anchored to that crux, that source of it's creation. It also wouldn't be 'evil' per se, not by it's actions or intent but rather it's very nature.
Grayell shrugged and folded his arms behind his head, he pouted as if refusing to think too hard on the matter.
I mean I'm no scholar and this is all speculation... but I think it would indeed be classified as a haunting; albeit a nasty one.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
Scratching at his jawline, Alec considers for a moment what Gray said. "I suppose so, yes." He shrugs. "But, it's hardly like there's a complex classification system to haunts. Or a system at all, for that matter." Pausing for a moment, he looks around. "I don't suppose anyone thought to bring refreshments to the party?" Hopeful, but doubting.
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Kiga only smirked for a moment but had nothing more to add to the conversation. He too settled back at the edge of the bath, stared at the water for a few moments.
Alcohol and hot water such as this would be unwise.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Oh, I'm sure there are books I'm yet to read. The library at the Academy was extensive, yes, but far from complete. Though, to ask for a library that contains everything written down is pure folly. And I never mentioned alcohol," Alec says, shooting Kiga a look, "just was wondering if anyone had brought something to drink."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Margrett poked her head over the fence that went around the hot springs, leaning on it idly. She was obviously tipsy, smiling widely.
But hey, look. I got some here. Funny how that works. She turned and knocked back a drink from a bottle of wine she had in her hand. She licked her lips rather dramatically and leaned on the fence again.
China doll bought it for me in Highover. Good stuff. Say. This...party...private? I'm here cause Serenity might be by later, but I wanted to meet Kiko without all the political debates and usual shouting matches me an' Gray have. Apologize, maybe. Any friend of Gray's is to be vetted, questioned, and given one chance to prove themselves to me before I completely disregard them.
Here she threw a playful yet condescending look at Kiga.
Grayell only chuckled as she made her grand entrance and shook his head. He wiped his nose with a dripping hand and waved her in with a roll of his eyes.
Well if we don't let you in I'll never hear the end of it. Alec wants your wine though.
Grayell lifted his gourd. Marg knew the power of the stuff he brewed, not to be messed with. Of course, it was full.
Kiga looked at Margrett as she shot him a look and immediately, his demeanor changed once more. She didn't like him, he knew that much and it mattered little. It was a little humorous to him actually... he felt Grayell had asked him to aid her due to his liking of the blue woman and yet, here he was with another woman entirely.
A very attractive woman. Kiga smiled a little now, Grayell had chosen the prettier of the two. And Kiga knew too well the differences between eastern women and the more barbaric nature of the women here...
But he remained silent. He gave Marg a courtesy nod but said nothing. He did shuffle a little closer to Alec though.
Kiko had gone quiet when they all started talking. In fact, she closed her eyes, stretched out just a little bit more, the water lapping around her body. It was really warm, and that warmth seeped into the muscles and bones. She didn't leave the Wolf's embrace, though, just settled back against him and listened to them.
Grayell seemed easy with them, even Margrett. Though, they did not part on all that good of terms a few days before.

Grayell smiled as she nuzzled against him and twisted a little to make himself more comfortable. His hands drew from the edge of the pool again and slid over the water, palms gently streaking across the water's uneasy surface. They came to rest in front of her, brushing the water in lazy circles. They were hers if she wanted them... well any time, but now more so.
He uttered a content growl for her reassurance, it said a great deal without words.
Her eyes drifted open, almost as if she had heard his thoughts. She reached for his hands wrapped them around the upper part of her body and let the growl linger in her mind. The images it created were not near as soothing as the water, no, they sparked other things. She rather wished the spring was still deserted with those images, too.
Kiga had moved. Her head turned to look at him again. He was quiet, but he didn't blend into the background all that well, not here. Still, she could well imagine him doing so, if he wished. She shook her head, there were too many new people for her.
