Serenity snapped back to see the column of green flame, her back pressing against the shelves as if she no where else to go. When the eyes flickered out of the flame and stared back at her, her throat clenched up when she heard the word, "singer".
Weakly at first, she spoke up, "Ye...yes, I'm, I'm a singer."
Right afterward she realized this was a bad idea, considering what Egon had told them before about the missing performers; now thinking that this might be the culprit.
"Is, there something I can do for you?" she asked nervously.
With that, the smoke cleared, the eyes melted away, and the candles remained lit on the pedestal. MArgrett let out a breath and looked to Serenity nervously.
Serenity was stunned for a moment before she blinked her eyes. Looking over to Margrett she had a worried expression on her face,
"Well, I suppose...we should head back to the stage, although I don't remember how to get there."
Egon had already stopped her from doing the very thing the ghost suggested, the consequences being that she too would suffer the unknown fate of the other vocalists if she went through it. But perhaps there was something she could do in their predicament that they couldn't...
"Perhaps we should find Egon again before we do anything rash."
"I'm alright," she said with a sigh, "I just feel like I'm walking into something I'm not quite ready for. I'm usually prepared for the task ahead, but I don't know what I am to do for these spirits or if they're leading me to my doom."
She began to walk back the way they came hoping to catch Egon where they left him before.
The GM had completely forgotten the threads of where he was going with this, so he's making it up as he goes along now.
They made their way back to to Egon, where Serenity told him what happened. He explained that the theatre had things in the basement for a reason; the exact setup of the junk and some hidden mirrors, crystals, and matrices had created a magical vortex, pulling in and trapping the souls of those who were resonant with the theatre's background energy. Performers, actors, and especially singers.
We'll have to break the layout somehow...but the vortex is too strong now, it's self-sustaining. He thought for a moment.
Perhaps if we were to strengthen it, trigger the thaumatogical occurrences that traps the souls here, we could expose the underlying vertexes and cause it to collapse on itself...
