Marble seemed completely oblivious to what they were saying, watching a butterfly float by. They could see maybe the faintest of smiles on her stony mouth and she stopped her stride for a fraction of a second before catching up and following them again. It was a few days travel before they reached Highever. Everything they'd heard about it, if anything, had seemed true. The city was alight with lights even in the early morning hours they'd reached it at, inviting and imposing at the same time. Marble seemed a tiny bit more...energetic, looking to Highever if at all possible as they neared it.

Kerag's eye widened, speechless as he gazed upon the spectacle that was Highever. If the golem proved useless, at least the trip was worth it if but for the view alone. He smiled as he looked to his companions, observing their reactions as well before continuing on the path into the mage city. He hoped his raw physical prowess was sufficient if any 'obstacles' came in their way, dreadfully recalling the last two times he was hit with magic. It really hurt. Kerag cleared his throat, arms spread.
Just as his brother, Venom was pretty amazed at how big and beautiful the city was. It was nothing like he had expected. After noticing Marble's change of energy, he was certain they had reached Highever.
Oh I will brother. Trust me, I will. Marble seems excited to be back home.
He continued to make his way to the city, hopefully find a place to rest as well after the long journey.
They entered town just as the gates rose. They could see that the town was set up in "tiers," and the merchant's tier was the lowest. The shops around them were just setting up and opening, with a few early-morning shopping already on the streets. They were in the right area, at least.
Kerag took what Venom said of Marble into consideration, watchful for subtle signs of excitement. He smirked, directing his attention back to the merchant's tier of the town. He looked for shops associated with the golem trade.
"If anyone looks like they have taken an interest to our golem, don't hesitate to question them Venom, we need a lead."
The orc's glowing eye maintained it's pursuit, intently observing the shops as they walked.
Marble seemed to know where she was, looking up and down the streets, barely moving otherwise. She didn't seem to want to head in any particular direction though. The crowd around them was getting thicker, but it was still early morning so there weren't as many people as there could have been. A few people took interest in it, but it seemed it was only a mildly interesting sight. Maybe enough people had golem servants that it was sort of a common sight.
As they walked, a little boy came up to them and wordlessly stared at Marble, walking around her. Marble stopped and allowed him to look, watching him without emotion.
Kerag chuckled softly to himself, watching the small boy take an interest in Marble. He diplomatically removed his helmet, the glow in his eye dulling back to green. The orc looked around, getting the general vibe that they were indeed in the right place. Enough people were interested in the golem that it shouldn't be too difficult finding someone who'd know something, and there wasn't a commotion surrounding Marble's presence, so golems were not entirely uncommon here in Highever. Kerag smiled. It was only a matter of time.
However in the mean time he gestured to Marble, attempting to converse with the boy.
"It's called Marble."
He grumbled, trying his best to smile, but dreading these kinds of interactions with children and women. Something about being a big ugly, battle scared orc never seemed to work out for him socially.
Venom noticed the orc trying to converse with the child and smiled. He knew he was about to laugh with the outcome of that intent. Kerag was not very good with people, much less with a child. It was about to get interesting. He waited to see the child's reaction.
Kerag's curiosity peaked. He supposed the child was used to sights and wonders most of the world was unaccustomed to. He thanked the old war gods for their luck, spotting the golem shop further down the street. The orc thanked the boy for his help, motioning for Venom and Marble to follow after handing the boy a few gold coins.
"Thanks for the help."
Kerag walked quickly, excitement putting an extra pep in his step.
Venom thanked the kid as they walked over to the golem shop down the street. They were going well for them right away. Marble's quest may end sooner than Venom had originally have thought.
Well Marble, it seems we may have some answers soon enough.
The shop they entered looked, at first, like a store that told only statues. It was large, filled with statues of various sizes and degrees of detail, even the most humble with exorbitant price tags. There was also a wall of scrolls and books, as well as carving tools. There was a man reading a book at the desk, and he looked up cheerfully as they entered.
Ah, hello sirs. He noticed Marble and his eyes lit up.
Ooh. That's a very nice custom model you have there. Looking to get it serviced, or are you selling?
Venom entered the store behind Kerag and Marble. Kerag had control of things and he decided to take a look at the statues in the store. Taking his time to study each one of them carefully.
Sir, did you build these on your own? They're very detailed. Great art work you have here.
