This was her chance! They were all alone, no one could interfere or eavesdrop. Well, at least she hoped they wouldn't. But... she couldn't stop shaking. She looked to Margrett nervously. It was hard to say she wasn't beautiful... No, no... she couldn't think like that... not here, at least... wait, what was she talking about...? She shook her head and cleared her throat as she started to speak...
"U...uh...um...I...uh..."
OK, she didn't think about this part not going too well... she needed to come up with something shorter so she wouldn't mess it up. Let's just start with something simple, she thought. She cleared her throat again and puffed up her chest, ready to let it out.
"I...I....I love you...!"
Uh-oh. That didn't come out right... Her face grew so red you would think steam would come out of her ears. She looked around nervously. Had anyone heard her say that? She kinda yelled it out... She had to think quick! She didn't want this to be weird for the both of them... Reaching her neck up to Margrett's face, she gave her a peck on the cheek.
"Ah...!"
Wait... she didn't mean it like that, either! Not sure of what else to do, she covered her face and ran outside of the garrison, her embarrassment level at an all-time high.
Margrett was happy at first that Tallia was opening up a little, but confused when she heard what she had to say, and then even more confused when Tallia...kissed her. As she left she stared after her, putting a hand to her cheek.
She barely knew the kitten. And she...maybe she was confused. Or infatuated. Which was flattering, in its own way, but...a little...strange.
She took a deep breath, knocked back the contents of the bottle, and decided to give her time. She made sure the doors locked properly, and put the key on her belt. That would be good enough for now. They would come back and finish the building later. She left, thinking about Tallia.
