Watching as Gray walks away, Alec looks straight up at the ceiling. Blowing air between his teeth, he shakes his head slowly. "Ugh," he scoffs. "Morals."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Well Orp, our new prison is almost 100% complete after a big communal effort and this is a bit of a party to thank the community in general. Can't always be work.
Take a seat, plenty of food to go around.
Orp Boon [M:83:616:][D3v:http://www.rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=406&page=1#374]"Is that family heirloom for sale?"[0:Gone fishing.][1:The store is open!]
Tallia looked around apprehensively, surprised at how many people had suddenly appeared in the tavern. She slinked away from the conversations, interesting as they may be, to make herself towards a quieter spot in the tavern. Spotting a fellow Cathian, she creeps towards him, happy that he's sharing the same meal. She lightly waves to him before making a seat nearby...
Chaz waved and then swallowed his mouthful of fish when he saw who it was. He waved back and beckoned her closer.
Oh geez! Sit closer, come on! I didn't know there were any other cats in this town! What's your name?

Seeing Rue, Alec walks over to her. "Hey there. Glad to see someone else I bloody know here." He looks around, and snags a tankard of ale and takes a short drink. "You want anything? It's all on Gray, but I could get it for you."

Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Grayell sat a while longer. The food didn't taste good anymore, the grog tasted like piss. He'd lost interest in the party far too quickly, but these were good people. No need to bring them down. He got up, made his goodbyes and left.
G'night everyone. Work in the morning, need some rest. Talia - a pleasure meeting you.

Kerag had been gorging himself full almost the entire time he was here, stuffing his face when the Commander was so kind to offer such a feast! The amount of food was enough to satiate his appetite and then some. He was still dirty from a long days work renovating the new prison, and he'd worked a monstrous hunger afterwards. Only now did he feel comfortably full, and perked up to finally make nice with everyone in attendance, though his eye often fixated on the food.
"It's good to finally kick back and relax a little everyone. It's been nonstop ever since I've arrived into town."
He looks at Chaz and smirks.
"Thanks again for your help Charles, I know we ended up doing the prison job most of the day but come back over whenever convenient and I'll compensate you for the safe and getting the door installed."
Kerag shifted his weight backward against the back of his chair, it creaked under the sheer weight but somehow didn't break. He nodded to Venom.
"How goes it brother? Feel like we haven't had a chance to get further acquainted since training started."
Tallia gave a meager wave to Grayell as he made his exit, a little sad to see him go. She thought to say good-bye, but the roaring voices of the tavern suggested that was not to happen. Tallia saw much of herself in him... Turning back to Chaz, she wasn't quite sure how to handle this one.
"Um... yeah..."
Slowly and shakily, she extended her arm toward his to return the gesture. She noticed how much more Cathian he was than her. She wondered for a bit what she would look like if she had been born down that line. Washing the thought from her mind, she reiterated Chaz's question in her head. Where did she come from, she thought. Metgrouhl was a home for a time, until... that happened, but that was certainly not a place she could truly call home... Out of options, it was really the only thing she could think of to move the conversation along.
"M... Metgrouhl... m... most don't really... hear of it, though..."
North, like I thought. Heard of it, never been. I'm from the outskirts of the Overwood, myself. S'why I'm a little more... He paused, pulling another plate of fish toward him.
Furry. What you doing in town?

Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Not quite wanting to spill why she had found herself here just yet, let alone to someone she just met, she went with her "default" answer.
"Um... I was... interested... in the guard... It seemed... fun... And... and... I wanted to help people, so..."
She found herself throwing in that last bit unconsciously as she drifted out of attention. Though she truly did want to aid others, the guard was not supposed to be an outlet for that. At least to her, anyway.
"I... I sought out Lady Margre... I... I mean, the Captain... to see if I may join her ranks..."
Diverting away from Chaz's look, she blushed a little when she thought about it that way. It wasn't completely true, but it was close enough to the truth to pass. Turning back to Chaz, she decides to move the conversation along this time.
"U...um... if you don't mind me asking... w... what are you doing here...? You seem be acquainted with everyone... You... you're not in the guard... are you...?
