Due to the busy atmosphere, Tallia was getting a little mixed up. She didn't know who was who or what was what. Despite not having a way to have avoided the situation, she still cursed herself. His words rang through her head... What she wouldn't give to even have that chance to be with her mother again... Her face took a sour note.
"I... I'm sorry about that... I know... how that can be..."
As her eyes traveled towards the table, she took sight upon her disregarded meal. She slowly picked up her fish and nibbled a piece off.
"What... what is your trade...? I haven't... quite met anyone yet that has one... outside of battle, of course..."
Taking note of her expression, Chaz slowed, but stayed cheerful.
Oh, I fix things. And build things. Mostly useless things, but sometimes I can make something worthwhile. He cocked his head, his smile turning concerned.
Something up?

Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
She wasn't one to really garner for concern, even with the amount of things she's kept on her mind. She brightened her expression a little to brush off his worry.
"N...no, I'm... fine. I'd... I'd like to see that... sometime... It sounds... fun... I... I like to build things, too... Well... more like, create... stuff... B...but, it's like what you do... I think..."
She sighed. She's only dabbled a little in the creative arts. Making makeshift weapons and (semi-decent) medicinal solutions wasn't quite on the same level as designing machinery... or... whatever this guy made. Nonetheless, it still intrigued her, as they had (ever so slightly) something in common.
"Do you... do you plan on setting up... a shop...? Or... are you just really looking to work for someone...? I-I can understand if you're just looking for money, though... I'm quite broke myself..."
She gestures to herself, showing off her battered leather outfit. It didn't quite suit her anyway, though. She'd like to dress more in her element, but that would only lead to an easy death, she thought.
She considered the offer; things hadn't been so good in the past. He didn't seem bad, she thought. He also has a business, a family, and fur, so she could certainly bring herself to trust him. Truthfully, she wanted to stay closer to Margrett, but she figured that would not happen for a fair bit of time. Not until she had proven herself, at least.
"T-that sounds nice... I-I was only able to find an affordable inn b-by chance last time... The rest of my money w-went to f... food..."
As though on cue, her stomach growled wildly. She gave a hungry look at the fish, and began to feast on it yet again.
He smiled comfortingly, scooting his chair closer.
Look, I got a daughter. She's tiny now. But you remind me of her and I wouldn't leave you out in the cold. He pushed another fish towards her.
Look at you. You're tiny. Well, I'm tiny, but you're malnourished. I could throw you. And that's saying something. Eat up and we'll see if we can find someplace for you to stay. He grinned.
I do need help sorting out the shop. Maybe you could help with that as payment, eh?

Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
An opportunity to live a normal life, she thought. It tickled her imagination, but she knew this could not happen, unmindful of how much she desired it so. She smiled at the unexpected cheerfulness the former stranger had provided amongst her. Eyeing the fish presented in front of her, she couldn't help a nibble or twelve.
"I... I appreciate the offer... I really do... B-but... I... I have to be mindful of the Guard... It's of my highest priority... I have something I must do..."
Finishing the plate, she stands up suddenly.
"Um... thank you... for everything."
She politely bows to Chaz, staring at him for a moment before giving off a warm smile. She takes her exit from the tavern into the outside world, leaping out of sight.
Chaz blinked as she left suddenly, frowning. Then he shrugged and let out a breath. He worried about her a little bit, but she sounded like she could take care of herself. Then he saw Kerag and waved back.
Hey Kerag! Sorry, was talking to someone. We'll have to finish your house later.

Kerag would have responded if his mouth wasn't full, each hand holding a leg of meat. His eyebrow raised and the orc grunted his approval, eye darting back and forth at the feast and Chaz. He liked the cat's style and expertise and really needed his help with the necessary renovations. When he had a moment to speak, he cleared his throat and grinned.
"Ah yes Charles I saw! Good to see you've acquainted yourself with Wistvale's other resident cat. Not sure If she's guard material, but she seems nice enough."
Kerag grabbed the pint of ale on his left and chugged it, wiping his lips afterwards.
"I would be most appreciative of your help Charles."

Kerag tilted his head closer to Chaz, looking at the cat from the corner of his good eye. "Not you're type I'm guessing eh?" He laughed, nodding at the end. "Indeed people can surprise you when you least expect it." For a moment his hand reached up and touched his eyepatch, and he paused thinking.
Finally he cleared away his thoughts and gave the cat a gentle nudge.
"I'm sure you'll find a cat girl around somewhere more suitable to your tastes Charles." He chuckled, teasing him.

Kerag's eyebrow raised and he patted Chaz on the back. "But of course! Clever Charles! I should have known." He bellowed a hearty laugh, offering a thumbs up. "Good for you." He leaned back in the chair, giving the room a look around.
His smile faltered, and his fingers tapped the table nervously.
She's in the Overwood, where we're from. She's, uh....she's a Drow, and went home because her mother is sick. I can't follow her into the deep parts of the Overwood, because if they knew we were together, well... He ran a finger across his neck silently.
I'm just here in town to make some money to send back to them.
