Oh c'mon now, if he can sell everyone the world, surely I can sell you on my boyish charm wrapped in my rugged exterior... right?
He was damn near giggling. Grayell wasn't taking himself too seriously. Getting this people suspicious or having them refuse to talk wouldn't work. He had done his rounds with the ladies and found that some self aware humor often got them to relax. Or upstairs. He'd settle for relaxed with this one though.
Zane stands there politely, but coughs a bit and looks at the girl
"I hate to rush you ma'am, but I can't help but notice that you have yet to answer my question. If you are unable or unwilling, then I would be more then happy to talk to your superior, or the doctor himself."
"So, you kill anybody who doesn't agree with you? Well, that's just not very nice now is it? In fact, I'd have to say that killing is rather, well, illegal. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, you've just admitted that your organization is premeditating the murder of several civilians. Isn't that grounds for arrest, Grayell?"
Zane looks to Grayell, though he makes sure to keep the receptionist in the corner of his eye
Citizens? No. She folded her hands and looked up at Zane blankly.
You said yourself people that "only find fun in the torture and murder of others." Then you change the subject to citizens. Unless your government harbors psychopaths. That's not true, I'll assume.
Zane looks shocked and shakes his head at the lady
"Harbor criminals? Never! These two were completely separate arguments! It's not just those who only take pleasure in murdering people who will not wish to join you. I mean, look at my friend here. He obviously disagrees with you, yet is not a criminal nor a psychopath, and according to your words, he would be eliminated! That's just horrendous!"
Zane puts his hand on Grayell shoulders and acts like he is crying and sad
"Oh, cruel fate! To sign his death warrant at such an early stage in life!"
He then becomes more serious and looks back to the lady
"Get my point? Killing others who you don't agree with makes YOU all the criminals here. If it was just a peaceful movement, then there'd be nothing wrong, but we have it straight from you that you plan to eliminate people. Such a shame, such a shame. I wonder how the populace would react if they knew that you planned to kill them unless they joined you..."
You're assuming I said we would kill people who disagreed with us. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Normal, rational people who aren't harming anyone would be left to their own devices. The ones we're killing are the ones who would be opposed to us violently. She smiled.
"That's not how you said it before. I asked what would happen to those who opposed and you said they'd be eliminated. But I'll be willing to believe it's just a simple slip of the tongue, so long as it doesn't prove prophetic."
"Well, I know sarcasm when I hear it, but if you do ever want to look me up, I'm not that hard to find. Just ask about the blond fellow who likes to heal people."
He follows Grayell and listens to him, replying in the same tone
"Well, it is a bit of an issue. Not sure honestly... We could try and join up with him, and see for ourselves what he's plotting..."
