(I...I honestly don't know. Should we just say no to continue functioning, yes for his fire?)
He thought for a moment. Although he was certain that the man, and by extension the Lantern, had gotten pretty far down, he may as well head to the entrance. Maybe there he could follow the man's trail or pick up any clues as to where the golem was, or how to kill it. He headed right.

Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.

Skul finds the other side of the blocked entrance. A few small tidbits of light break through the pile of boulders and reach the inside of the mine. It appears just as hard to move the rocks from the inside as from the outside. There are a few more signs laying about the floor.
Leave no stone unturned!
Your eyes are important to the mine. Report anyone you see pocketing diamonds.
Contaminating the spring with waste not only harms the mine, it harms everywhere the spring waters flow to. Buckets and holes are the only acceptable latrines.

Skul turned away from the entrance door, looking for any alternate paths or signs of the man or his golem. Probably not, considering this was a mine, and people would have been going through here. And the golem was, well, rock.

Assuming they would open, he opened the door for the explosives to see if there was anything stable he could use against the golem, making sure to dim his light first. Then he opened "Diamond Velvet" because he wasn't sure if that was an actual thing.

As Skul open the door marked Explosives he's taken aback by the shear amount of combustible materials. The small dugout room is filled to bursting with crates of what appear to be red sticks with wicks hanging out of them. The sticks and crates are covered in a wet material that has leaked out and somewhat crystallized around the crates. It has formed puddles on the floor and soaked through just about everywhere. Skul gets a feeling that any small spark could send this whole mine sky high.
The room marked Diamond Velvet is full of very soft clean red velvet stored in hinged boxes wooden boxes on shelves lining the walls.

Skul descends stairs into the mine until he hits a landing. He finds a sign that reads:
Level 1
A doorway leads the landing room into the main mining area. Stairs descend from the landing area further into the mine. The mining area through the rough hewn stone doorway looks like it was once well keep. Mine tracks lead into branching tunnels way off into the distance.
Skul seems to be tiring out and losing concentration as he continues to use his light.
At first Skul was a little anxious. Could it be gas? Making him dizzy? He stopped and leaned against a wall when he realized that not only would his fire set off the gas, he had no lungs to speak of. It had to have been his light. He'd forgotten how draining a little bit of fire would be. He snuffed it against his suit and looked around in the dark to see how well he could see.
