Welcome to The Menagerie!
This is the very short list of the many things you need to know - eventually. I want to start by saying this:
You do NOT have to read the whole game guide and go through character creation to join in.
The Menagerie is a play by post rpg (PVPRPG) that allows what is commonly referred to as 'free play'. This means there are very few rules and for the most part, the only limit to your role playing choices is your imagination. Rather than a complex rule set that dictates every action you take, our system has what we consider 'guidelines' and 'talents' that indicate what you and your character can and cannot do within the course of play. Playing is simple and fun, at a pace set by the players. If you are looking to stretch your role playing legs and do away with conventional rule sets that can fill a library, then this may well be the game for you.
So, who are we?

So what sets us apart?

- A cooperative atmosphere and sincere interest in player input.
- Learn-as-you-go adventuring without the harsh penalties.
- Challenges suited to your wants and/or character potential.
- PVE and PVP allowed.

Things you might want to know about our system.

- We don't have 'alignments'.
So, interested in playing?
We would much rather see you on the board and learning as you go, than trying to read everything up front. We have an extensive rule set for what is really, a very simple game. But to keep it simple, try the following:
Really, our staff will help you with the learning curve and you aren't expected to know everything. We really, sincerely would rather see you settling in, than worrying about what's allowed and what is not.
