Margrett showed up on Serenity's doorstep one bright morning, a pack slung over her arm. She knocked at the door and smiled cheerfully when she answered.
Serenity opened the door, looking much better than when she first arrived to Wistvale after her long journey. Her smile was bright, clothes were clean and she had a light spirit about her.
"Yes! I didn't pack much, just a few extra clothes."
Said the lazy councilwoman, lord knows there isn't a town to govern.
Good. We shouldn't be gone long. Travistown's just a day away.
They'd already gone over the plans, she knew that much. We'll just assume a lot of councilperson stuff had been taken care of, and that the town would last a day or two without them. She nodded and started to walk to the stables, waiting for Serenity to follow.
You sure we can't buy that magical thingy you wanted anywhere else?
Serenity felt silly, surely she'd remember what MacGuffin they were seeking. After all this whole trip was planned around it.
She smacked her head, "Right, a text of healing magic, or a scroll. I've wanted to learn a little healing magic. I don't have much gold but hopefully we'll in the least be able to find something."
Right. Scroll thingy. Shouldn't be too difficult. They made it to the stables, where they had arranged for a wagon to take them to Travistown. It was departing immediately, and Marg climbed in, offering Serenity a hand.
She leaned back against the corner of the carraige, half-facing Serenity. She leaned her head on one hand, and the other hand rested along the back of the seat. She smiled faintly.
I would love to see you angry, Serenity. She took in a deep breath, throwing a look to the passing countryside.
"Oh I'm sure if we let some men have their way you'll see me upset yet." she muffled a laugh.
The mage sighed and looked out her side window, then Margrett's to see what she was looking at if anything. It was indeed going to be a long trip, and with that in mind Serenity looked down at her friend's armor.
"Margrett, wouldn't it be better if you didn't wear that for such a long trip, you have something under don't you?"
She blushed a little, waving a hand and sitting up straight.
Oh, no, no no. I didn't mean it like that. Yeah...it'll probably be uncomfortable. In truth, she could wear it all day. She felt naked without it on sometimes, but if Serenity wanted her to, well...she felt inclined. She started to take off her gauntlets, and turned a bit away from Serenity, pointing to the buckles that held her breastplate on.
Serenity was a bit speechless, and began to feel guilty. Regardless she reached for the buckle, "Are you really sure? You don't have to remove it if you don't want to..."
The Mage couldn't seem unfasten the device and tugged a little against it. She looked a bit nervous, having never done this sort of thing before.
