With the new icons on the board and the myriad of trick and fine touches that took, the board is almost done in terms of it's looks. I will be sorting out the 'newbie' buttons soon enough.
Turns out I can add them as board categories and have them work like buttons to whichever link I like. That will remove any chance of it cluttering up other areas on the board and keep things simple.
That does also mean I have NO clue what to post under the chat and the changing art there. Hah!
So, got some more things figured out earlier this evening. I will be updating the 'new peoples'thread with some more useful info and will add some links under the chat and image such as our staff members and credits and so on.
I also need to remember to reinstate the nav tree in a manner that works with the layout.
If you have any input, now would be a great time.
Also, if you look in my mini profile, you will see a test award there. The image was a rush job but shows in the mini profile and the full version shows in my normal profile.
I will be creating awards for multiple things in game and these will be used for recognition of things we don't necessarily gain from otherwise.
If you have any ideas for awards, please post them here.
The obvious ones would be for Member of the Month. Faction Membership and possibly rank. Outstanding RP/posts. Contributions to the site as far as helping out with new ideas and such.
Head's up, this is also being rolled into the upcoming work. I have to re-familiarize myself with the code for some things, but that shouldn't be too hard.
Geez, not having a nav tree is a right pain in the ass.
Well, I don't really have much to report. Life is work and gaming for the most part, but I do intend to slowly wade back into the deep end of the site (currently in the kiddy pool).
There are some things I am looking forward to updating and others that are a chore, but I am getting a grip on what's to be done and will get to it shortly.
If anyone has a knack for BBCode, feel free to dabble with the bio/inventory templates as they no longer work very well.
I like it. There was a bit of a learning curve when the change first happened for those of us that were here before. But I'm good now. Maybe it was just me.
Other than I navtree, which we had a bit of one on Saturday that worked fine, I dont see any issues.
My first thought was, he lied in every word, That hoary cripple, with malicious eye Askance to watch the workings of his lie On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford Suppression of the glee, that pursed and scored Its edge, at one more victim gained thereby.
You may have noticed that when in a thread now, the side bar vanishes and gives you the full page to both read and write. Signatures also don't take up so much room (for people like Alex, lol).
I hope you like it. I am still working on refining the layout.
To clarify, it looks ok when I go to write, but viewing a thread everything is shifted to one side and seems to be set to fit in the sapce normally occupied by the sidebar. Maybe its just because I'm forced to use IE as my browser.
cant possibly be an inconvenience when somebody sacrifices his time to optimize everything. I didn't know the site before, but i really like it this way. the new wider thread reading possibilities are amazing, nice move.
She started dancin' real slow, like she was puttin' on a show.
Wet sweat was pourin' off her skin, her body made me wanna sin.
Right then my buzz was kickin' in, she had a devil's grin.
She looked me in the eye and said: You give me the urge!
To do a little day drinkin'
A little bit of love makin'
A whole lot of world shakin'
'Cause it's never too late to get low down dirty!

Glad to hear its working for others.
Alex, which version of IE are you using? I have checked with the latest IE, as has the gentleman who helped with the code and neither of us have this issue. It's hard to fix what's wrong when we can't see the problem :/
Can you: - Get your IT guys to update your browser? - Failing that, get us a screen shot of the problem?
