"Hm. I'm much more interested in it's regenerative abilities. I believe I'll need to intervene, if I am to procure a sample."
Shen only looked at Alex for a moment as he finished his morning beverage and then placed the cup down in a rather determined manner. As he walked out of the bistro and toward the street, he took the time to pack, place and light his pipe. His timing was quite practiced and it was apparent, his first puff of smoke came just as he stopped in the center of the street and turned to face the monster. To all around him, Shen seemed quite confident. Shen was thinking, that this had best work. Contain the beast.
Shen slapped his palms together, then rubbed his hands in a brisk manner. His eyes were on the monster as it dealt with the Sentinels, other patrons joining the fray with their half-hearted attacks. The rubbing of his palms stopped and his fingers laced through one another, then gently pried apart. As they did so, a silvery, glowing twine could be seen weaving through his digits, like children at play with string. His hands pulled, then crashed together once more and again, he would pull them apart, further then, the strings multiplying.
On the third time, Shen pulled his hands wide apart and the technique was sound, his light web was ready. His hands bounced and the magical fiber bounced and then finally, he flung his hands forward and cast it out. Providing nothing interrupted his magic, the web should stretch from wall to wall across the street and prove quite the painful deterrent to anything wanting to crash it's way further into Wistvale.
Shen stood behind the barricade and plucked the pipe from his mouth, waiting to see what might happen next.
