Ok guys, I have little doubt you missed the new section on the side bar.
The staff are in the process of hashing out a new 'feature' so to speak, in that I would like to try our hand at overarching plots. By that I mean a happening, or story that is affecting the world at large and should impact all characters, unless they opt out of the campaign.
The first one is obviously, something to do with trolls. That would mean somewhere and somehow, trolls were in the mix and the staff, as a group, would make them a part of our world. Different stories that are all related to the campaign from the discovery of the story to it's completion would, I think; help with the sense of community and the interaction between characters.
This doesn't mean all other stories come to a halt. This would mean those were same as always, but as a community, there would be something going on.
When we roll this out, the nasty Troll pic will link to the introduction and what you need to know, as a player. Of course, your character would not be privy to such information. We would also keep a log, or journal of what had been discovered and accomplished so far, so that all players were in the loop.
I think this idea is a great one and can work well. We might even reward buttons, or badges to participants.
Make sure you lave your feedback
Staff, please continue to use the GM lounge post for the specifics.

Though, my only concern is how you intend to make it relevant to each of us. Forcing it in at a few points likely wouldn't work out that well. Or, perhaps it could. My concern isn't so much seeing it as much as it is caring about it. Roleplaying exists in it's own realm, yes. but alot of it still stems from decisions made beyond the fourth wall. If a person doesn't actually care about something, odds are they won't be interested in it even if their character 'would' be.
I have faith in the staff though. I hope you all make something impressive out of it!
Investing the player means having to have good writing and an interesting plot.
Investing the character could vary. Some will want to protect the town and or the people in it. Some will do it for duty or maybe their faction/reward. Some will want to protect their home. Perhaps vengence for the destruction caused.
And if nothing else works, a large angry troll bearing down on you with nothing but your destruction in mind can go a long way towards a character wanting to fight back, lol.
This has been known to be true. I have seen plenty of people who role play a character halfheartedly with no enthusiasm, but face the player with a character death and they can sometimes turn into a novelist.
I am canning the campaign idea, it won't show when the site is complete. The reason why: It's more to manage and worry about as GMs and really, it's simpler and less to follow for newer players especially.
Please continue those troll threads, as you would with any other.
