Orp agreed and moved in front of the armoire, the largest piece of furniture in the room and one of the most likely places for Tauer to have hidden behind.
"Look around wherever you like officer. Sorry about the mess but I didn't get to clean up this morning."
Tauer [M:150:160:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=540&page=1#18960]While the Light's away, the Shadows will play.
The trick in these situations was not to sneeze or step on a twig or squeaky floor board. So Tauer remained as still as possible and kept his breathing to the bare minimum. Thankfully, the tall stranger appeared to be keeping his word and going along with their plan. Now, if only this pesky guard was just be on his way.
::The surly guard only took a few steps into the room before his eyes narrowed again in suspicion at the mess he found. The place looked like it had been ransacked. He was just about to step in further when the owner gathered her courage and stepped to the doorway...::
"Mr. Boon! I swear, I spend more time cleaning this room then I do picking up after all those men in the attic! I may need to raise your rent if this keeps up. Honestly!"
::The guard turns to look at her, then to Orp. Luckily he had not stepped in far enough to see Tauer hiding behind the wardrobe.::
"Ma'am. Are you saying he regularly keeps his place like this?"
"Oh yes! I have to clean it every day. You'ld think he'd learn to pick up after himself one of these days."
::The guard was still looking at Orp with barely masked distaste.::
"Yes, well. A dream you say?"
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...

Consider this a warning then, the both of you. The Sentinels do not have time to make house calls for false alarms and untidy...renters."
::He actually looked like he was going to call Orp something else, but bit it back at the last moment. With that he turns and heads for the door. Not bothering to avoid any items strewn in his path, his boot hits a book and sends it sliding across the floor and under the wardrobe to strike Tauer's foot. He also steps on several papers Orp had yet to grab up as he walks. ::
"Evening to you, Ma'am."
"Evening, Officer."
::And with that they both leave, closing the door behind them.::

Tauer exhaled sharply as the book knocked right into his little toe. LITTLE TOE, goshdarnit!

((Going to let you two take it from here for a bit, if you decide to talk it out since I'm not sure how one would GM a conversation between two other PCs lol. I'll hop in if I feel i need to interject something...))

I didn't turn you in because you seem way more competent than those silly guards. Poorly trained muscle is all they are. A new facility stocked with well trained mercenaries. That would improve this town.
"I'll wait to accept your apology until you've proven you're telling the truth."
Orp shakes the hand.
"Name's Boon. Orp Boon. I sell things."
Orp chewed the inside of his mouth, trying to feel out what the intruder truly wanted.
"All right. Where are you leading me?"

The note said to return to my tower. My friends, Nissa and Joff, should be waiting there.
Tauer shifted, nervously.
But I suspect we'll be followed by Piper's rats and birds. They're not going to be happy that I brought company.

Orp pulled open a drawer a pulled out a coiled piece of wire about 60 ft long. He wrapped it around his left wrist, tight enough to stay on but loose enough to fly off with some magic.
"I'll be ready for a fight then."
He pulled his sleeve down over the wire on his wrist and pulled a dagger out of the drawer. He slipped the dagger into a sheath in his boot.

Tauer felt a little bit more confident about the possible confrontation with Piper. This time he would be ready. And watching Orp Boon prepping gave Tauer the impression that the cyclops was no novice to conflict. As long as Nissa and Joff didn't get caught up in the middle of it all. He would have to make sure that didn't happen.
Look out for a red-headed cathian. That'll be Piper.
The demon prince poked his head out of the front door, checking the coast was clear of any obvious foes, before leaving the premises.
