Ah well. Kiga was actually going to see someone else who had almost died recently and without someone saying anything, he had no reason to stop. Two way, mental conversations will do that. Flipping an errant wave over his shoulder as he made it out the door, he looked up and them as quick as you like, leaped straight up and out of sight and was gone.
Shen shrugged as he settled back in his chair, leaving the arm to continue weeping in that rather unsavory manner as the impurities worked their way from the wound. He took a very long moment to enjoy his pipe and remained in silence for a time before answering.
"Yes. Agreeable. Nothing will work as well as your original arm did. Nothing will work quite as well as a newly acquired, real arm. You could compensate with other attributes, but your manual dexterity and tactile sensation would be hampered.
I will look into finding a replacement. It will take some coin, I will likely contact someone else to see to such a matter. When I have a suitable arm, then I will see to bonding it with your body. As you can imagine, that's much more complex than removing one tends to be."
Shen thought it futile to suggest he pay for an arm in the House of Galena. And presently, there weren't a great many people on death's door elsewhere in town. Regardless of where they were, those people suffered some terrible affliction or where elderly. No, he would need a suitable, strong, healthy limb to replace Alex's own.
::He flinched at the pain in his stump as the foul mess continued to ooze from it. He kept his eyes closed and tried to focus on the smell coming from Shen's pipe to help block the odor coming from the mess.::
Very well. Were I healed enough I would go out in search of some fool of a criminal or other such unsavory type... One armed or not. Alas that does not seem to be something I shall be doing soon.
My first thought was, he lied in every word, That hoary cripple, with malicious eye Askance to watch the workings of his lie On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford Suppression of the glee, that pursed and scored Its edge, at one more victim gained thereby.
::She turned back away from the exit Kiga had taken and looked to the floor. She had missed her chance once again to thank him and promised herself it would not happen again.
She looked back up at Tauer and smiled, enjoying the presence of his friendship.
-I'm fine, Tauer. I'm just worried about Father. I hope He gets better soon. It feels so strange to see Him in a sickbed like that. It just feels...unnatural...- ::
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...
Tauer [M:150:160:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=540&page=1#18960]While the Light's away, the Shadows will play.
"Do you think your Father will like living here in Wistvale? Or..." And this was where Tauer began airing his unspoken worries. "Or does He plan on attempting to get back home?"
::She lowered her head to hide the sadness in her eyes.
-I don't know what He wants. I'm know there are ways back, but whether He wants to or not...
There really isn't much to go back to...
Most everyone left.-
She thought then of D'Poe and his crew and the offer he had made to take her with him back home with the Eggs. She wondered if he had made it back safely, and with Father here then who would be left to care for them? Tilik. Tilik would do it, she knew. She sighed as memories of her lost friend came back once more. She would give most anything to see him once more...
gurgle
Her face flushes as her hands go to her stomache in a vain hope to muffle the sound that had just come from it and she looks up at Tauer through a mass of tangled bright purple hair with a sheepish grin. Tilik may not be here, but she had found a friend just as close and dear to her here. And she had her other family. That was enough for her, for now...
-Ok...So maybe I do need to eat after all... ::

Tauer smiled, almost laughing at the noises coming from Neko's stomach. How long had it been since she'd eaten? The demon prince couldn't have his favorite feline friend forgetting her own nutritional needs, so he offered her his hand.
"Come on, let's grab something to eat. I know just the place. We can bring your Father back a little something, too, if you'd like."
::She glanced at the door to Father's room, looking hesitant at first as she thought it over.
-I think they are going to be awhile...and I do need to eat...-
She took his hand in hers with a timid smile. The warmth of his hand comforting her as she walked with him to the door. ::

Tauer could sense Neko's hesitancy before she took his hand. It must be difficult for her, being reunited with her father after all this time and then have that worry that if she let him out of her sight, he may be gone again. But the demon prince knew differently. Mister Ravenhurst wasn't going anywhere...at least not without Neko.
Tauer gently squeezed his feline friend's hand, taking equal comfort in her touch. Only time would tell what was going to happen in both of their lives, so for now the prince was going to enjoy their time together, however short or long it may be.
Upon reaching the entrance, Tauer went ahead and held open the door for Neko, with a smile.
Shen was examining Alex's arm once more rather than listening to his hypothetical 'would dos'. He seemed content with the effects of the linament thus far and therefore, began cleaning it up and dressing it. He used the more common medicinal items that were on hand (I shall have to get a medic's kit) and then produced another interesting vial from his own collection. It had no pungent aroma, like the last; but spilled out in silvery strands of silk and clung immediately to the wound. Shen was very careful with it's application and as he completed winding the silk about the torn limb, it bound and sealed quite tightly.
"Your arm will need far less care now and both the swelling and the ache should subside. I suggest you stop being so insistent with trying to help, your magic is of little use and quite frankly, you need the rest.
I shall be going. I'll be looking into what I can do about procuring an arm for you."
Shen got up from his chair and made for the door, but then halted and looked over his shoulder.
"Once I have some coin of course. It's not going to come for free and I'm simply not good natured enough to front the funds myself."
::He hated this weakness. Hated more that others were seeing it. But there was nothing he could do about it now. What's done is done, and all he could do now was make the best of it, and perhaps some damage control...::
Very well, Healer. I shall rest here until you return.
::Already his stump was feeling better, not great, but when compared to how it had felt before it was a great improvement. He took note of the items Shen used in his work and made a note to ask him about them sometime in the future. Once he was whole again. With his good hand he gestured to a small desk with his clothes laid atop it in neat order. Neko had done that, he was sure, and he smiled inwardly at her kindness. It had been good to see her once more. Something he always went back to when he dwelled to heavily on the cost he had paid. For her, it was worth it.::
In the drawer you will find what little gold I have. Take it all and see what it can buy you. Perhaps it is enough to get things moving. Maybe it can buy some silence as well, if need be...

Shen took the gold and slipped into his coat. Without further comment, he simply walked out. He had work to do and well, a stiff drink might just ply him for the task at hand.
::Alexander watched the man leave then laid his head back on his pillows and allowed himself to finally feel and react to the pain. It was considerably less now after Shen's treatments, but still it lingered. He had heard tales of "phantom limbs" in his studies over the years, but had never experienced it first hand until now. There had been several moments as the Healer had done his work when he was positive the BOTH hands had clentched at the sheets. And there seemed to be a perculiar itching sensation in the palm of his missing hand which was driving him nuts for tha fact that there was nothing there.
So he tried to focus his mind on other things. Memories or the night of his rescue, fractured as they were by his exhaustion, came to mind and he found himself thinking of Grayell. The man had behaved strangely, even for him. Almost as if he did not recognize the man he had helped pull from the Keep. Was it simply the state Alexander had been in when he was found? Some...disbelief at him being here? Or was there more to it? He would have to speak with Neko once she returned about the matter. Something did not add up.
Speaking of his daughter, or more specificly her "friend"... There was something naggingly familiar about him...::
