Have you wondered how a doctor is going to heal someone without some items? Or how someone climbs without even thinking about using gear? How a thief picks a lock with his bare hands?
So have I.
The staff and I have been working on an idea and after much deliberation, we've made some changes to the game. It involves a slight alteration to your 'items carried' in your inventory and the Brawn skill.
There are no more backpacks. There are no more haversacks and pouches that only work if attached to a belt and so on, cluttering up your equipment. Instead, when you carry an item; you just carry it wherever. If it's in a pouch, great. If you shove it in a pocket, wonderful.
That doesn't sound like much, now your potions rattle in your pocket. Not quite. We have introduced 'kits', small pouches that are packed with useful tools for adventurers. They are in the store now and each kit takes up one of your 'items carried' slots.
Loose items can also be carried, things you pick up along the way and so on. The rules for how much space they consume is in the FAQ. There are also some potion pouches and such and even an empty pouch you can wear to carry random stuff, rather than having to resort to your pockets.
You can also earn more than 3 'slots'. Rather than buying a bigger pack, the deciding factor has been decided to be your Brawn talent. It influences how heavy your armor is, so it also influences how much crap you can lug around.
Here's the in game edits basically:
In order to regulate your items carried in the simplest way possible, character's have an allowance of three items. This does not include equipped gear, of course. Characters with higher Brawn can carry more items, but everyone has at least three. These items are carried on your person in an applicable fashion such as in your pocket, or strapped to your belt and so on. Your carried items are recorded in your character sheet of course, below your equipment. Things you can put in these item 'slots' are as follows:
For specific information on how much inventory an item will take up, see our FAQ for inventory slots.
Kits can be seen in store, or by this link
The best part is that when a new character is approved, staff will ask them to choose one kit to help them along. Nifty!
How this influences you:
If you already have a pack, a pouch or anything directly affected by this change, post here. You can have your money back or we will swap it out for a kit or pouch and so on.
If your personal item for some reason is more than one actual item ie: a collection of items, or a full pouch; it has to go. You can replace it with the appropriate kit and choose an actual personal effect.
Also...
Potions have changed. Check the store. Some potions no longer exist. If you have any of these potions, post here for a refund.
Please note, all kits/pouches should be listed in your items carried.

- Any loose item you may not have room for elsewhere. Keep in mind, bigger items will demand more item capacity to be available.
