Alright, where to begin. Not having a lot of time or being in the shiniest mood, I'll get down to brass tacks. There has been discussion in the GM Lounge regarding having harder penalties for characters who neglect facets of play. These include less or no gold, less acclaim, more injuries and complications and even death.
Why? Because of a number of things which I don't wish to go into really, but suffice it to say that players should consider taking the game a little more seriously. You are, by default; an adventurer. The largest concern could be summed up as such: Being reckless and ignoring the most simple facets of your occupation should not net you rewards.
I am not going to mention instances or point fingers, but we like to provide a challenging, fun game. We like people to have freedom and to grow their characters. We do feel, just a little; that people are just pursuing their own agenda and counting on GMs to see them through to completion.
I have decided that rather than the GMs go ahead with plans to just simply make things harder - or rather - having things actually make more sense in terms of what you can and cannot get away with; that I would issue a warning.
You are an adventurer. Here's the two biggest pieces of advice I can give you in this regard, with current game trends considered.
1. Not thinking and being plain reckless is going to get you hurt.
2. Neglecting all forms of self preservation and simply saving your pennies for some elaborate custom item rather than addressing the simplest necessities, will be your downfall.
I will let you take that into consideration and act as you decide is appropriate.
I invite all staff to contribute to this thread. It is not my intention to sound harsh but rather, give all players a courteous heads up rather than see them suddenly failing and ergo, not enjoying their time here.
