One minute he was lying in a warm bed next to a warm, welcome body, and the next he was being thrown out, half-nude, with an old man poking him in the back with a fire poker. Talk about bad mornings... The young dwarf rubbed his head, stalking away from the house with a grumble in his throat. It was rather chilly out and from some of the stares he was receiving, most didn't appreciate seeing a shirtless dwarf tromping around, not that he cared much about what they thought. It wasn't his fault the girl's father had come home early. Ah well, he'd enjoyed it while it had lasted, and so had she. He had to bring a hand to his chest to verify that the small vial of water was still hanging there. Losing that would send him into a frenzy like no other.

Vanidus continued to walk, scratching at his chest and kicking a rock as he passed it, in a way taking out his anger on the unsuspecting pebble. His head was throbbing and his stomach was rumbling something crazy. His gazd happened down, catching the glint of something yellow in his path. His eyes narrowed, head tilting to the left. He was naturally curious, but also suspicious. A trap? He wasn't sure, but his curiosity took over and he reached down, snatching the object off the ground.
He'd almost had it, but just as he'd thought he had it, the little coin skipped away from him. He frowned. What sorcery was this? What kind of coin ran away from its beholder? He wasn't one to be tricked easily by such a thing. He tumbled after it clumsily, determination on his face. "Get back here, coin!" He gruffed. This was why he hated magic.

::For every step or grab the dwarf made for the coin, it jumped further and further away. His attention so focused on his prize, and still bleary headed from the night before, he missed that he was now off the street and down a side alley.
That was until coins journey ended at a pair of boots before lifting up into the air...
"You just fell for the oldest trick inna book, mate."
::Said the owner of the boots, a young cathian with black and orange hair in a dirty cloak. A metal leg brace on one knee, he dangled the coin from a thin string before him.::
"Rough 'im up boys!"
::From behind crates stacked at the sides of the alley two young men, barely old enough to shave emerge and rush at you...::
Vanidus was getting gradually angrier and more frustrated with every wisp away from his grubby hands the coin took. Surely it was enchanted by some sorcerer who thought themselves smart. Soon enough though, he realized just what had happened. He'd been tricked. He looked around quickly at his surroundings in confusion. He swore he' been on the road, but now he was suddenly cornered in any alley. He grit his teeth, but it wasn't like he was given much time to decide on whether to run or fight. He'd left his weapons at home for some stupid reason, but thankfully he was much more useful without them then with. The dwarf shrank down into a battle position and given his short size, managed to roll forward and away from his attackers just as they'd rushed him.
::The Dwarf's forward roll did indeed take him away from the rushing boys, and straight into the Cathian...
Vanidus came out of his roll just in time to receive a stout kick to the face that sent him stumbling back into the boys, who tried to grapple with him to grab and pin his arms...::
