The beasties saw Ivy coming and scampered like mice fleeing from a big, mean mouse...laughing all the way. As they ran, the dagger was thrown back and forth between them, adding to the girl's torment.
Then they split up; one hopped up a stack of boxes and vanished over a fence, one disappeared behind a barrel and vanished, and the last - the one holding her dagger - shimmied through a gap in fence at the end of the alley. Otherwise, it was a dead end.
The hole might be large enough for Ivy to crawl through...
Ivy glared at the creatures as they ran, trying to catch her dagger without cutting herself, but they did a good job keeping it away from her. When she saw the one with her dagger crawl through a gap in the fence, she didnt hesitate to drop to her knees and crawl towards it, pushing it aside as much as she could so she could slip though, which she managed to do, mad at herself for not keping an eye on her weapon as she should have.

As she was crawling through the gap in the fence, Ivy got a nice view of the dagger-stealing critter regrouping with it's pals as they ran over to a cellar door, opened it and vanished inside. But not before giving a cheeky wave to the half-mer.
Ivys jaw dropped. They were doing this on purpose, and they were making her mad. Huffing and glaring at everything, Ivy squirmed the rest of the way through the hole and stood up, stomping towards the cellar door and followed them.

Descending the steps, Ivy soon realized that she was not going down into an actual cellar but instead was lead to a candle-lit passageway. Continuing forward brought her to another set of stairs which lead to another passageway. This one was different than the last in that there were three doors; one to the right, one on the left and another straight ahead.
Ivy scowled at the doors, not sure where the things went with her dagger. Hoping it wouldnt matter which door she went through, she continued to the door in front of her and went to open it

The room was dimly lit and Ivy had only taken a few steps when something pushed her from behind. The door slammed shut and maniacal laughter echoed off the walls.
"AHAHAHAHA! Welcome to my lair, said the pumpkin to the girl. AHAHAHA!"
The axe-wielding pumpkin-headed psycho approached Ivy with his weapon raised high, standing in between her and the door.
Ivy looked at the pumpkin and grinned, taking her bow and an arrow off her back. "Why thank you for the warm welcome." She said, nocking an arrow. "Now you better get out of my way so I can go find the things that stole my dagger." Thank goodness it had been her dagger and not her bow that was stolen. She backed up a few steps so she would have more room to hit it.

Ivy smiled. She wouldnt use her weapons on the little theifs, but this guy was different. She nocked her arrow and aimed for the head, letting her arrow fly. As soon as she let the arrow go, she reached behind her and got another one, nocked it and aimed once again for the head, letting her arrow go.

The arrow soared through the pumpkin head, caught on fire from the candle inside and struck the door behind him. The light inside it's head flickered a little, casting eerie shadows about the room, and the crazed figure swooned before...
*Ting!*
The axeman blocked the second arrow with his weapon of choice.
"AHAHAHAHA! Hold still, little girl. Don't you want a haircut? AHAHAHA!"
Ivy curled her lip up at him. "Dont call me a little girl." She snapped, taking another arrow from her behind her and nocked it, this time aiming for its throat. She let the arrow fly and looked around for good amount of water, moving to the side to get away from the pumpkin.

There was nothing else in the room other than the two of them. But there was a thin metal pipe running down one corner of the room but there was no way of knowing just by looking at it if there was water in it.
"Stop wriggling! Uncle Preston wants a piece of cherry pie. AHAHAHA!"
The arrow missed its mark, burying itself in the wall. The pumpkin fiend swung his axe nonchalantly demonstrating his desire for pie. Haha!
Pie? And cherry pie? This pumpkin was crazy, and Ivy didnt want to be around it anymore, considering she DID want to get her dagger back before she lost it completely. "I think he would rather pumpkin." She shot back, smiling at the pipe. If there was no water in it, she could always try and beat the pumpkin up with it. Without wasting any time, she ran over to the corner and attempted to pull the pipe apart.

The entire pipe broke off and snapped in two. It must have been really old. Luckily for Ivy, about a cup's worth of water sloshed onto the floor, albeit rather smelly, stagnant water.
Uncle 'Pumpkin-head' Preston closed in on the girl, who was now cornered, and grabbed her shoulder; digging in with his sharp, pincer-like fingers.
"AHAHAHAHA! Look Ma, I got me some pie! AHAHAHAHA!"
