Shen walked by the pair as they exchanged pleasantries. He hadn't formally met Ely but the pair knew of one another due to their dealing with House Galena. It was an easy assumption for the Cathian that he was headed that way right now.
He spied the peer through the sheen on his glasses and nodded in a perhaps half-hearted manner to Ely. There was a slight grunt in greeting, though his lack of enthusiasm was far more likely to do with his haste, rather than any intentional rudeness. That was his way after all, she had not seen him adopt pleasantries in the few fleeting moments they'd had anything to do with one another.

Ely smiled at Dani and subsequently gave Shen a wave as he went past. He was an odd duck and always smelled of tobacco and herbs Ely couldn't quite identify. But, Iona liked him. Ely reordered her thoughts and tried not to get distracted from the task at hand.
"I'm Ely, Dani. It is wonderful to meet you."
She hesitated for a few minutes as Shen turned the corner. Oh. In case I haven't mentioned it before? Cathians are often distracted by shiny things. Shen was kind of shiny and interesting. It goes without saying Cathians are inquisitive, too.
"Right. The House of Galena."
Ely stamped her feet a few times in the faint hope that the early morning would keep the dust in the street to a minimum. It was possible she was trying to knock some sense back into her brain, too.
"Galena's is a House of Healing Mister... I didn't catch your name?"
Did he tell her his name? Ely, quite frankly, could not remember.

So, they were heading to a healing place. It all sounded rather therapeutic. Maybe they had a spa or knew of a natural hot spring somewhere. He and Neko had only recently been talking about finding a place to relax.
"Yes, of course. Galena is also a place of worship, Tauer."
Ely glanced at Dani again. She often forgot that Galena was a deity. Did the elven woman worship Galena? It probably wasn't very polite to ask such things. But, Ely was definitely more curious now. The white haired man who declined the Mister title was quite interesting, too. Tauer, Ely. His name is Tauer.
My. Maybe she should venture into town more often. All sorts of new people about, new and shiny. Ely cleared her throat. Her ears twitched and the flare of her tail could be seen swirling about her knee; definite indication of her interest.
"Would you two fellows like to visit the House? It is truly a wonderful place to rest in."

"Could we? That would be great!" Tauer said, excitedly.
Hopefully, Nissa and Joff wouldn't be too impatient with the demonkin. Anyway, they knew how to fend for themselves. If they got too hungry they could always go out and grab something to eat.
Tauer was kind of wishing the two siblings had been here, as well. A trip to a healing house may have been an interesting experience for them. Now they were no longer living under the Cathian street rat Piper's rule, the prince of Broodenberg had been thinking about the kids' futures. Nissa could potentially make a good healer, and Joff...well, he was at that age where he's enthusiastic about everything.
Mental note for later. Tauer thought. Find a local school to send them to.
Ely turned to the colorful man who had not said a word for several minutes.
"How about you, Sir. Would you care to join us and visit the House of Galena?"
Ely's voice was softer this time. She wasn't very empathetic and she had no real kinship to speak of, but experience had taught her that a soft voice was less threatening. Even soothing, when you got right down to it, to people who had a hard time speaking up.

She liked the Cathian girl. Beyond any knowledge she had of the House of Galena, she seemed friendly and welcoming.
The other two gentlemen she was less sure about. They seemed to be overly energetic for her tastes. The one with the feathers came off as especially...flighty. For someone who was used to long stretches of time alone in the woods, sitting patiently as she waited for game, it just felt...weird.
She hoped that they were the exception, and not the rule, when it came to the people in this town.

(Elijah has not posted in this thread so I am going to assume he declined our invitation to Galena's out of shyness and continue. Elijah, if you still wish to participate you could follow us.)
Ely waved her hand toward the crosswalk a few meters past the building next to her. The sun was starting to peek over the low roof beams. It showered the street with a dozen sparkling rays and sent the few birds still resting beneath the eaves into the sky.
"Galena's House can be found on Healer's Row, one of the main streets here in town. There are a few alchemist shops, one chirgeon that hasn't come out of his house in years that I know of, and two other buildings that have long been abandoned. I wouldn't go into those."
Her cautionary words were for the other two. Ely probably would go into the abandoned buildings if for no other reason than to see what was in there. She had just never found the time to do so before.
"The street bends around at the last abandoned building and merges into the merchant district."
Ely had started walking, turning her head every so often to look at her companions when speaking.

With a spring in his step, Tauer followed the Cathian girl towards the House of Galena, listening carefully to everything she said and wondering why he had never noticed Healer's Row before. Had he been spending too much time alone in his tower or dealing with a pesky red-headed Cathian or investigating the many troubles outside of Wistvale? Possibly.
"You know a lot about the area. Have you lived here long, Ely?"
Ely [M:164:1653:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=394&page=1#14814]A soul on fire...[0:Snuffed][1:Flame On!]
"No, not really. I was here some years ago for several weeks. Then, a situation occurred that required me to return to Brindisi. I only came back to Wistvale some months ago. I found this wonderful old library with thousands upon thousands of abandoned books. I couldn't leave them. What with no one to care for them."
Ely's earnest expression turned somewhat sad when she thought of the state the books had been in.
"It's okay, though. I'm cleaning it up. The books especially. All that knowledge. it is very exciting."
Well, it had been exciting until three of those books she had found tried to possess her and cause her to attack Kiga. Ely gave a little shudder at the thought of those volumes.
"I did find this map of the town. It's not very helpful, though. Wistvale changed quite a bit when the earthquake brought the ocean in."

Dani had been walking along quietly behind as Ely and Tauer spoke. She was concentrating more on what streets led where and the people they were passing, then the conversation. She caught what Ely said about the abandoned buildings and was curious as to why there would be any empty buildings this close to the merchant and healing districts. Her limited experience with towns led her to believe that such areas were usually considered "Prime".
She went back to studying the things around her. It was not her place to wonder such things. It's not as though she planned on moving in. If accepted by the local House, she may live with them. Or she may continue to keep her camp in the woods, which is where she would be staying anyway, should they turn her down.
Once again she found herself pulled out of her thoughts by Ely's words.
"I'm sorry. Did you say earthquake?"
She hurried her steps for a few paces to catch up with the people in front of her in order to hear better.
