::The door flew open as Neko came rushing into the shop. She had seen the flier posted, but had had to go back home first to get her gear and was worried that she may have been too late to take on the job.
As she rushed through the door, she stumbled over some of the items strewn here and there by the entryway and was just able to keep herself and the stores wares from tumbling down onto the floor.
Whew!
Oblivious to the tension in the room she gave a cheery smile and a wave to all present to hopfully draw attention away from her hurried and almost disasterous entrance.
Tabitha just sat there as the cat girls and the black eyed man just bantered, giggling and muttering under her breath. Her gaze fell upon Ivy, she was just about to answer before she jumped nearly falling off of her step stool as her door came flying open.
"Well. I say this has been exciting, almost too exciting....can't tell if that's rude......."
She looked around the corner, shaking her head.
"I know i should have expected more, no need to remind me! I was aware of that fact when I put up the poster. I swear I question your common sense."
She paused then look back to the group. Trying to answer all questions at once, she replied
"As.for.danger.there.may.be.danger.yes.depends.really.on.what.kind.of.danger.there.is" She took in a sharp breath, then looked to Alec. " No I don't need that, already have that why would I need something I have already? I don't need assistance for something I already have!"
she said, giggling as she rambled on. She pulled out a small bag from behind the counter, and untied it. Pulling out small samples of several different types of plant and flower she began explaining each one.
"This, well, these are what I need more of, yes, Some of them are rare, some, well one, not so rare. I need Jade Vine, Parrot's Beak, Kadupul Flower, Ghost Orchid, and...."
She leaned over the counter, and looked around to see if anyone was listening.
"Wolfsbane....but I need several stalks of that an-"
She suddenly lurched back, craning her head to the right.
"NO! No the wolves are not here, that's why I said it......I know that, and it's the big one that get's the most bitter out of it"
She cackled loudly
"Doesn't like his tail pulled either."
She returned her gaze back to the would be adventurers.
Aegil [M:53:440:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?board=cs&action=display&thread=853]Everything Casts A Shadow...[0:In a rare occurance I am unavailable][1:As usual I am available]
Aegil slipped the book back in place and undid the twine of her own, flipping to a new page and jotting down the list of ingrediants in her encrypted writing. Retying it and throwing it over her shoulder, she leaned heavily on her staff and nodded her silent acceptance. She was here, and that alone meant she was committed. "I will agree to assist you Mal-mer" she spoke softly, her voice likely lost in the sea of others agreements, using her homelands honorific for an elder.
Revenge is a knife you point to your own heart It's a poisoned dish you wind up eating yourself...
Ivy grinned to herself. it would be dangerous. That was better then not dangerous at all. She nodded to the elderly woman. "Ill help. Danger or not" She smiled and walked over to the creepy looking female who already confirmed with the old woman. "Hi!" Ivy said brightly to the horribly dressed woman. "Im Ivy. Who are you?"
::Neko was busy studying the place where the odd woman had looked to see if she could see who she had been talking to.
She nodded her commitment without making eyecontact as she squinted to see if she could make anything out. Was this old woman actually talking to someone, or was she just crazy? ::
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
Looking at the more-of-a-catgirl-than-the-other-catgirl who'd just slammed her way into the shop, Alec raises an eyebrow and slowly turns to look at the assembled group. A young girl, a young CAT girl, a slightly older, more feline cat girl, a woman, presumably a mage of some sort, and myself. "This is a ragtag bunch, even for Wistvale," he murmurs under his breath, before cracking a wide smile. Clapping his hands together silently, he nods as Tabitha lists off the ingredients, jotting them down on a mental note-pad and tucking them away for later. "You can definitely count me in," he says, after turning, and before inclining his head to the old crone slightly.
If I know Wistvale, this is going to get very interesting, very fast.
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Ely [M:164:1653:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=394&page=1#14814]A soul on fire...[0:Snuffed][1:Flame On!]
Ely blinked and would have stumbled, were it not for the counter, when the latecomer buzzed past the entrance. She stared at her, too; especially the ears. The Cathian was well aware the Wistvale was home to a few of her kindred, but this one did not look at all familiar. Well, maybe she was new. But, the longer Ely looked at her the more she became convinced that the girl wasn't Cathian at all. Odd.
Ely rubbed a hand over her face and tried to pay attention to Tabitha. The proprietress was reciting the list of ingredient she was looking to obtain. Jade Vine, Parrot's Beak, Kadupul Flower, Ghost Orchid... she knew them all, though Kadupul Flower and Ghost Orchid she had only seen once in a shop just inside Jezebel's main gate a few years ago. Hopefully this trek wouldn't take them through the Southern Sands.
She was feeling pretty confidant, too. Then Tabitha mentioned Wolfsbane. Why would she need that? Aconite lykotonon or Wolfsbane was a deadly poison. It was often used by wolf hunters to tip their spears and arrows. Harvest enough of it and you could pour it into a well and poison a town's water supply.
Ely glanced at Tabitha again. There was another use for it. Wolfsbane was a remedy for someone bitten by a werewolf. Ely shuddered and wrapped her arms around her upper body. She wanted nothing to do with werewolves not if what Kiga had told her was true and she had no reason to doubt him.
Ely wished, with all her heart, that Kiga was here. He was so brave. Ely swallowed harshly and tried to recover the sense of confidence from earlier. She shook her head in the affirmative when Tabitha asked if they would go, too. Though, making her feet move when she was scared to death would definitely be a challenge.
(Neko. I know we were introduced in "Typical Men" but that thread never got off the ground and never ended and I'm not sure it ever will. So. I am going to assume we do not know each other.)
Tabitha switched her gaze from person to person, her head shaking about as she did so. She looked to the back again, her eye narrowing.
"Oh will you stop, I am aware only two have agreed you darned cat."
As she said that a cat jumped up on the counter, it was rather large for a standard house cat. It's coat was white, save for the tan mane....yes that would be the appropriate way to describe it if you looked at it. It sat on the counter licking it's paw, then just stared, it's bright yellow eyes observing with an unnatural intelligence.
"Oh, so now you want to come out, sitting there in the back just spectating an commenting. I swear I ever wonder why I put up with you."
Tabitha stated putting her hands on her hips, staring at the cat intently. It lazily looked her direction, blinked and narrowed it's eyes until they shut. As though it were a person it just looked up eyes still closed in a snooty manner. Tabitha's eyes widened.
"Well! I dare say! How rude!"
She stood there still glaring at the cat. She finally turned back to the group that had assembled into her shop.
"So, only two or are all of you agreeing to the task at hand huh?"
Aegil [M:53:440:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?board=cs&action=display&thread=853]Everything Casts A Shadow...[0:In a rare occurance I am unavailable][1:As usual I am available]
Aegils eyes flicked to Ivy with obvious annoyance. "Hm.." was all she said at first, then looking irked. Spectre nudged in her mind and she finally relented. "Aegil." she did not offer any other greeting or even acknowledge that she would remember the girls name. Her eyes moved to the cat with a vauge curious expression, and a slight respect. If there was one creature she respected it was felines, the calm collected stoic animals. She wasn't much of a dog person. Birds and snakes were also good animals in her books.
Revenge is a knife you point to your own heart It's a poisoned dish you wind up eating yourself...
::Neko's eye's went wide at the appearance of the cat. Her first thought was that this woman had found a Hatchling at some point, but she supposed there were other possibilities. She would have to keep an eye on this shop in the future...
Feeling as tho she may not have been understood, She snaps to attention, her hand going to her brow in salute followed by a quick smile.
Ivy nodded to Aegil, dissapointed the woman didnt want to talk more, but not letting it get her down. She looked around the room at everyone standing there, and wondered what their reasons were for coming here. She also wondered how crazy the old woman was, or if she could somehow hear what the cat was saying or thinking. "I dont know where to look for any of these plants. I dont even know anything about any plants." Ivy looked at the woman. "Can you tell me where to look?"
Ely [M:164:1653:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=394&page=1#14814]A soul on fire...[0:Snuffed][1:Flame On!]
Ely spoke up during the lull following Ivy's question just in case Tabitha had missed seeing her nod of assent.
"I apologize if I seemed rude, Ma'am. Of course, I'll be glad to help you find your ingredients. I'm curious, though, and if you don't mind me asking where did you find your... cat?"
Ely's voice hesitated before she said the word. The animal looked like a cat; for the most part. It definitely had the intense stare of many felines she had seen. It was awfully large, however. Plus, either the older woman was crazy or she was talking to the animal, and more to the point - the animal was talking back.
Could it be a familiar? Ely had seen a few of those in Brindisi's school of Air and Flame.
Once most of the rag tag group accepted she nodded her head, more so to her self than anyone else. She looked to the ones who inquired about her companion.
"Who? Him?"
The Halfling woman began to laugh. Once she regained her composure she looked to the feline sitting on her counter.
"He found me long ago...or maybe I did find him.....or we found each other at the same time......hmmmm"
She said as she placed a hand on her chin, pondering the possibilities of what she said, I mean it was interesting after all. The cat looked to Ely and Neko seeing as they were staring at it and....wait....was that...a...no...it could not have been.....but....it had to be a small smile....was it?

Ely [M:164:1653:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=394&page=1#14814]A soul on fire...[0:Snuffed][1:Flame On!]
(Fair enough. I was trying to give Alec a chance to post.)
Ely's eyes went wide. She was familiar with familiars. Haha. Wait. Hold on to your wits, miss. But, she had never heard a familiar talk and certainly not inside her head. Oh, no. Could he hear her talking to herself? That would be a bad. Had she been rude?
"Umm... well... I... "
The young Cathian girl tried to remember what she had been thinking about since walking into the store. Werewolves. Right. And Kiga. A flush went over her face and colored her cheekbones.
Ely took a step closer, or as close as the counter would allow. Oh look at that, she had managed to make her feet move. Shut up! What if he can hear your voice in here?
She stuttered just a little, her heartbeat was pounding like a wild metronome in her chest.
"I... um... I do apologize, Sir."
It never hurt to offer respect. Hush, silly girl! Stop talking in your head.
"But... I mean... I've never met anyone like you before."
Could he understand her? Maybe one was suppose to speak to him mind to mind? Oh golly. Confusion reigned in Ely's mind and unsure of what to say or do she went quiet.
