I went to see Les Mis on x-mas day. I recomend it to everyone, just take a box of tissues as there was not a dry eye in the house. Beautifully filmed but very raw as you are in the person's face as they are having a breakdown. A very good translation of the play to film.
If Anne Hathaway doesn't come away with the award for this I will have lost the last tiny bit of faith i had in the awards system.
Silent as a shadow on padded feet...

Haha! I went to see Les Mis on Xmas day too. The theatre was full and I had I sit very close to the screen. Other than that I thought the movie was great. I love Anne Hathaway as an actress but she was superb in this. "It is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!"
Also went to see The hobbit at IMAX. Was my first 3D movie and probably my last. I went in with low hopes - because I'm kind of annoyed they are dragging it out into three films since the book is so small - but I actually liked the movie. Can't wait to see it again in 2D on blu ray.
I saw that too a few weeks ago. Not in 3d tho. I have not seen many movies in 3d and in my opinion, unless its something where they intentionally made it to be in 3d like Avatar (where it was used to give depth to the set not just for stuff flying out of the screen, then its not much worth it.
I enjoyed it but there were some spots that i felt like were just there to fill out the time to make it fit into 3 movies instead of 2.
Thought about changing my signature to "Master of the House..." lol but it doesn't fit my characters... Maybe if i ever make a profile for Piper...
I have seen the Hobbit, and recently just seen Wreck-It Ralph.
I hadn't known that Bilbo was being played by Martin Freeman, who I just finished seeing in the Sherlock mini series, and so I couldn't help but chuckle when he first appeared on screen with that boyish expression of his.
The movie was great I thought, and I didn't feel the length of it like many of it's viewers as I had fun throughout. I'm looking forward to the next two films.
Wreck-It Ralph was lots of fun, especially just to count the many video game references they managed to pack into the movie. I'll probably have to watch it again just to catch all the easter eggs.
I've not seen Le Miz, yet, but I'm probably going to wait til it releases in the local dollar theater after hearing the same general opinion from my colleagues in the orchestra. Nothing scathing, but not entirely favorable either.
