::Her shoulders slump a bit. She had hoped that the Master-at-arms would have had weapons in his room, but she was apparently out of luck. Of course anything worth taking would probably be on his person anyway, but it was the thought that counted...
Keeping her ears pricked for noises coming from the hallway, she slips over to the collection of papers and the ledger and flips thru them quickly to see if there is anthing of note she should take back to her employer. ::

The ledger has an account of all the weapons kept in the armory. It is an extensive list that includes both mundane and exotic weapons. Some of the more exotic weapons have notes like 'bought at the request of Raphor' or 'needed by Peter, that pompous bastard'. The ledger has notes of how often weapons are repaired and a record of weapons loaned to mercenaries and fees for mercenaries who did not bring weapons back.
The ledger also has a section devoted to recording the history of the training given to each mercenary. Time at the facility, attendance at normal training and any private lessons are recorded. Most mercenaries seem to have started at the facility when they were as young as 10 or 14. Many have left with good marks to go off on their own. Some have been thrown out.
On the desk are some notes on the weeks training schedule. This week's main theme is disarming and different techniques to do so including the Liliputian Turnover and the Underarm Snatch.
::She smiles to herself. This is perfect! Visions of the bonus, and the things she could purchase with it, dancing in her head. She slips the notes into the pages of the ledger and picks it up to take with her. If it's small enough, she will tuck it away in her clothes, if not she'll tote it under one arm as she goes back to the door to listen before slipping back out to the hallway. ::

::That had to be the Master at arms and probably the well dressed man she saw enter earlier. Seems he is a potential client.
Reacting quickly, she slips back into the same room and taking the notes out of the ledger, tries to place everything back about where it was before she moved them.
It was a risk, she knew, but if this man was looking to hire some mercenaries, Orp would want to know the details.
Glancing around quickly for a place to hide, she tries to take advantage of her small size by slipping under the bed before they enter. If she makes it, she scoots as far back from the edge as she can and draws her small kunai, in case she's discovered. ::

Two pairs of shoes enter the room. The door is closed.
"Hm, that's funny... I thought I... eh whatever. So let's see here, Marcus and Harvey you've already seen. Fredaire is a strong feller. Nothing scares him. Yusif can get out of any situation you put him in. Antonio has been training here since he was twelve. Elcraven can skin a yakow with his-"
"Don't you have any women around here?"
"Course not. The big man forbids it. Old Greenoak still pulls his weight and-"
"What about that snake-man downstairs?"
"Lester? Oh, no no no. Lester's not really a man for rules and finesse. You don't want to hire him."
"Marcus, Yusif and Lester then. With two on his back he won't mess up."
"Um, well if that's who-"
"That's what I want."
"All right then. Let's go see Mr. Vursio for the books."
She slipped her kunai away as she gave the men a couple minutes to clear the hallway. Sliding out from under the bed, she again packed up the ledger and notes and walked over to the door to listen.
Once she doesn't hear anything, she'll slip out the door and staying low below the rail, look at any other door in her view to see if any more bear plaques like this one did. She was tempted to get out while she could with the information she had, but perhaps there was more here to be found. ::

There are two more doors as the hallway approaches the stairs. Both do not have plaques. After the turn of the hallway are five more doors. After the final turn of the hallway are five more doors. Neko can just make out the shine of a few plates on the farther away doors on the other side of the atrium. The duel in the atrium below seems to be finishing up. People are cheering.
::It would be a risk, she knew, but she should try to get to those other doors.
Staying low, she follows the hallway around, careful to keep an ear and eye out for any other people about. When she reaches the gap where the stairs are, she waits for a cheer to go up before darting across the gap as quickly as possible, hoping the fight will draw any attention away from her movements. ::

Neko sneaks past the stairs and turns the corner to the middle section of the hallway. The men below are lifting up one man on their shoulders. Neko reaches a door labelled Chief Recruiter Lucas.
A voice comes up from the stairs that sounds like one she heard in the previous room.
Recruiter? May not be worth checking. She had the ledger. But she needed a place to hide again. She glances at the other doors to read their plaques, if any, before listening at the door. If the men coming up the stairs get too close tho, she would just have to use this room and give up looking for a better option. ::

Neko has enough time to either listen to the recruiter's door or blindly enter the next two rooms. The next door has no plaque or features but the one after that has a sign tacked to the door labeling the occupant as Merc of the Month.
She decides to focus on the door before her, listening for any noise. Hoping for none.
She needed to hide... ::

::She didn't want to take the chance on waking whoever was sleeping inside, and it sounded like her theft was about to be disovered as there was no way to make it back to the room before the other men did...
Glancing quickly down the hallway, she slips down to the end and tries to find a shadow or something else to hide in. ::
