Littlegate street is a narrow street winding up from the Merchant's Alley towards the upper class residential section of Wistvale. 12 S. Littlegate St. is a currently unoccupied building put up for sale by a Mr. Y. Undifer judging by the sign posted in the window. Almost all buildings on this street have a store on the bottom floor and a small living area on the two floors above it.
The door to 12 S. Littlegate St. is locked but there are alleys on both sides.
::Neko arrived at the address a few minutes prior to the appointed time. She used the extra time to take a slow approach to watch the building as she walked towards it. It appeared to be empty, and no one entered or exited from the front door while she was watching.
Walking past the first alley, she glances down it to see what it looked like on her way to the second alley on the other side. She wanted to be sure there weren't people waiting in ambush, or watching for her before she tried to find a way up to the rooftop. ::

The back of the building, accessible through the alleys has a small garden with some small plants and an old lattice nailed to the wall. Some dead vines still cling to it. There is a small unlocked shed with standard gardening supplies. ((ie anything you want within reason)) The windows on the building, spaced every 7 feet vertically have wrought iron bars covering them. The alleys are 3 ft wide.
Neko can hear something in the next lot over. A middle aged woman wearing a colorful wide brimmed hat pokes her head over the fence.
"Oh, hello! Are you looking to buy the house? The garden's very nice. A little unkept recently since Martha had to sell the place."
::She nodded in agreement to the woman, hoping she'd go back about her business without rousing her suspicions. She walked over to the latice, and glancing back over her shoulder to see if the woman was watching still, gave it a bit of a shake that she hoped appeared as if she was appraising the structure in case she was still watching her. Really she was trying to check how supportive it was. ::

"Oh that poor old lattice will need replacing. Martha's little boy, James, just about your size he was, tried climbing it and nearly got to the third floor before the whole thing peeled back. Good thing I was right around the corner planing tulips. I caught him right in my arms, I did.
Op, I think that's the kettle upstairs. I'll be right back in a few minutes."
The woman's head disappears behind the fence and Neko can hear a door close.
::Neko sighed with relief and took the opportunity to round the corner to put something between herself and the nosy neighbor. The woman had been good for one thing tho...she knew not to take the latice to the rooftop. Moving down the alley, she scanned the walls on either side of her for a way up. Hoping for a ladder, she'd take anything that would provide a good handhold. She didn't think she could make the vertical leap to go from window to window. Perhaps small ledges in the construction. Molding or gaps in the stone... ::

As Neko looks closely she sees that there are small ledges between the windows on the back wall and placed every three and a half feet on the alley-side walls. The ledges stick out three inches and are about two and a half feet wide.
::Smiling confidently to herself, she begins to use the windows and ledges as hand and foot holds to try and climb safely, but quickly to the rooftop. Keeping her body as close to the wall as possible to better blend in, she keeps an eye out for people, just in case. It would not do well to be spotted scaling the building. She did not want to bring unwanted attention to her meeting with her employer. ::

As Neko climbs to the top of the building she sees a few people pass the alley.
The roof is flat planks covered in some dried chemical to protect it from the elements. It sticks to the planks and gives it the texture of fine sand paper. A chimney sticks up from the center of the building. Neko can hear some laundry blowing in the slight breeze as it hangs over the street. Orp is not on the roof.
::She hopes the people below did not see her. Surely if they had, there would be yelling right? Enough worrying about that...
Noticing Orp's absence, she gave a huff, blowing a lock of hair out of her face. Perhaps she was earlier than she thought... She decides to make a quick circuit of the rooftop while she gives the one-eyed man a few more minutes to show up. She careful to stay back from the edges to prevent being seen from the streets below. She even takes time to check out the chimney. Looking over its sides and pulling herself up to look down the shaft... ::

The chimney looks sooty and not well cleaned. The roof has a low lip around the edge, raised about five inches from the surface of the roof.
Neko hears something clatter onto the roof. A stone she didn't see before is sitting on the roof close to the front edge. Around it is wrapped a note. Comparing the note to the written address show very similar writing.
Greetings friend,
Thank you for taking this job. Your objective is a few buildings down. Sorry for the bad starting location but security is tight on the ground so the roofs are the only viable entrance. This building is the easiest to climb in secret. If you've gotten here on time there is about an hour before sun down. I suggest you get going before then or the trip will be more dangerous.
The address of the building is 21 Littlegate St. ((Marked as building J later)) In that building is a man who trains mercenaries. He's very secretive and I want some trustworthy data on how he's doing. Information on how many men he employs, how trained they are and what weapons he has stored is appreciated. You can pocket anything you can get away with from the building and I will give you a bonus for each bit of information you return to me.
We shall meet again in the same spot as before tomorrow at noon.
Thank you and good luck, O.
Neko can see the rooftops from this building and forms a mental map of the area.
((Now for some OOC gameplay changes.
You are currently on building A and want to get to building J.
Each grid on that map is a square foot. The black rectangles are buildings and the dark grey lines are laundry lines that look sturdy.
It takes 2 minutes to jump between buildings and 5 minutes to cross along a laundry line.
Alleys become more difficult to cross as they get wider. Your success in the jump is based on your agility and a little chance. Difficulty is the same as width in feet i.e. a 4 foot gap requires a 4 to cross. For each jump I will randomly generate either a -1, 0 or +1 with equal probability and add that to your agility. So jumping with just your agility could get you a 3, 4 or 5 because your base agility is 4.
If the alley is say 5 feet across and you jump. You have a 1/3 chance of getting a 5 and making it, a 1/3 chance of getting a 4 and failing and a 1/3 chance of getting a 3 and failing.
You can spend action points (AP) to increase your jumping skill for one jump. Spent 1 AP and your chances increase to 4, 5 and 6. Spend 2 AP on a jump and your chances increase to 5, 6 and 7. AP is covered more a little later.
If you fail, you catch the ledge with your hands and must pull yourself up. This costs 3 AP and takes 1 minute.
Crossing a laundry line costs 10 AP.
AP starts at your brawn + endurance which is 4 total.
You can get 1 AP for every 4 minutes rest.
After sundown, jumping difficulty doubles.
Things I will track each round. Your current location, current AP and time till sundown. You can automatically confirm pulling yourself up from a ledge, resting for any amount of time or crossing a laundry line. I will confirm each jump. Be sure to clearly describe what building you want to jump to on every round.
Try to be creative when you can but if you break the whole system by doing something like seducing your way in through the front door I'll be pissed >
))
AP: 4 Location: A Time till sundown: 60 min

::So he wanted her to check up on someone. That didn't sound to hard...
With a shrug, she tucks the note away, along with the rock and backs up close to the edge of the building furthest from Building B. Taking a moment to check her gear and set her feet, she ran towards the far edge of building A and made a leap for building B. Feeling confident in her abilities, she plans to tuck and roll to her feet when she lands to keep her forward momentum going on her way to building C. ::

::Rolling straight to her feet, she continues to run straight for the jump between buildings C and D. That last jump was a close one, and the next leap would be even more difficult. But to hesitate now would just make it worse. She closes out the world around her as she approaches the edge of the building, focusing only on the point where she'll launch herself into the air, and the spot where she hopes to land. Her muscles coil as she prepares to spring across the distance... ::

Neko's extra effort put into the jump seems like a bit of overkill as she lands easily a few feet past the edge of building D. The coverings on the roofs give good grip and the lip around the edge provides a strong place to push off.
((Cleared C->D with a 6))
If Neko were to look at the front door of building J she would see two men with armor and sheathed swords standing on either side of the heavy looking doors.
