Celephai shrugged. What exactly the shrug meant could have been a debate for the ages.
"What I'm looking for, I guess. Well, shall we be off, then?"
She looked between the two others, eyeing Ansel a little longer than comfortable. He didn't seem all that bad, but there was something odd she couldn't shake about him.
Ansel watches Cel, noting how her eyes lingered on him. Turning to Chaz as he address him, Ansel just smiles
"We believe so. We are confident that Zalgo shall see us through this, and the church could use the funds. You seem competent, so we doubt that the danger will be significant"
With that, Ansel takes off after Cel, letting her lead the way
Time and distance passed, almost uneventfully so as they headed toward their destination. Eventually the terrain changed from forest to hills, and they did, eventually, come to an area that should have been their destination.
"There... should be an obelisk here... I think."
There was no obelisk, nor any particular marker for this hilltop. It seemed to be in the proper location, but there was absolutely nothing in particular interesting about this hill.
"Uh... huh... Well, any ideas? Maybe it's just not here anymore..."
Chaz looked at the ground thoughtfully. He was still feeling wary about the whole thing, but with the hill as blank as it was, it looked like they would go home soon.
It's underground, maybe? If that map is as old as I think it is, there's been plenty of time for the hill to shift and bury it. He tapped it with his foot.
If it is, I'm not digging for it.
A good scientist is a person with original ideas. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible.
