In order to have your character accepted, post a filled out character sheet template (below) here, along with your starting equipment, and one of the members of the game staff will either approve it or tell you that you need to fix something.
If you get approved, you may go a create a thread with your character's name for the subject. In that, your first post should be your character sheet, and the second your inventory.
Once approved, you character will also get a freebie, to help them in their adventures. Speak to staff for more information.
Your character sheet is you own thread, dedicated to your character. It is set up and managed by you as the player. Your character sheet is linked in your sig for ease of reference when playing and contains all relevant information needed in the course of adventuring. Our game has no true stats so managing your character sheet could hardly be simpler.
You character sheet is broken down into two posts:
Your character info: The first post contains background information for your character, their current talents and other pertinent information that you would like to keep there. A shiny picture of your character hardly hurts either.
Your character inventory: The second post in your thread is a log of all your character's possessions. If you have a a set if equipment that you favor and commonly use, feel free to record it here as equipped. This includes items you are carrying for use.
For examples of character information, click "Character Sheet" under my Avatar.
UPDATING YOUR CHARACTER INFORMATION
Whenever you update, edit or alter your character sheet, you are required to make a quick post in your thread stating what you changed. This prevents confusion and gives us a 'transaction record' which can help staff or yourself undo any mistakes that may be made. Your will need to update your information whenever the following happens:
Character Information:
You are granted acclaim. This should be posted to your thread by whomever rewards you, make sure you post your update and your new total.
You have sufficient acclaim to gain a new talent point. Please be sure to specify where you allocate that skill. You cannot change your skill choice later so choose wisely.
Character Inventory:
You spend or receive gold. Please be sure to state the sum, where it went to or came from and your new total.
You remove/use or receive an item. As with money, be sure to state where it came from and include full details of the item if it is new to your inventory.
CHARACTER SHEET TRANSACTION HISTORY
Please note, any time you are given acclaim, that GM or admin should post it in your character info thread. The relevant fields of your character sheet should be updated by yourself. If you believe you should have acclaim, contact admin or the GM and ask them about it.
Any time you gain or spend gold, the party involved should also post in your info thread. If you gain gold through a store you operate, YOU should post the details in your thread.
Any time your gold amount changes, you should update the field within your character sheet. Again, if you believe someone should have posted an update in your thread and has not, please contact them.
Name:Zane Delacroix Race: Human Age: 24 Physical Description: A tall, skinny man, Zane obviously has not had any training in the use of weaponry. He stands about 6'1", and has black hair that seems to fall randomly, yet not ever get messy, and has green eyes.
Oh one thing mr needle and thread.... since I am seeing a trend here, reserve weapons will only be used as weapons. It seems like a loophole and I don't care to see everyone exploit it with items.
Yes. Rules state equipment at games start. Labeling an item as a weapon when it actually isn't is a loophole, so we have to put a clamp on it.
Now that's not to say I couldn't see someone with a weapon, using it for other means. Leaning on a sword, juggling daggers, whatever. But the adverse has to be true. If it's a non-conventional weapon, the character had best use it as a weapon all the same. Sorry, but we have to put things in black and white.
