Grayell would have helped her into the bed but he knew she'd refuse. He hadn't figured if she was pissed at him or just pissed in general. He slumped into the chair she'd occupied and sighed, rested his head in his hands.
So yeah. Working on the prison in what, 2 hours from now? I think maybe you should take a day off Margrett.
Grayell nodded and rubbed his shoulder, but was doing much better. He watched Zane as he worked, studied his hands. Looking at Marg in her under garments wasn't half bad either and whilst he appreciated her pretty, he was more admiring her physique. She was toned, defined and quite strong. He was impressed but said nothing of it.
He rolled his neck and cracked it with a grunt and then leaned forward in his chair.
Well I could tell you you had to, but you wouldn't listen regardless. I do wonder how you're stubborness is going to work out now that you're captain.
Good. Zaedus will share your rank, but his duties will be somewhat different from your own. You'll be responsible for recruitment and training until you have an officer beneath you. You will organize patrols and uphold the law, establishing a firm, visible presence in town. Zaedus, as my advisor; will aid you in your duties but like myself will not be able to devote all his time to these tasks. Council work will keep us both busy at times. As my advisor, I also expect him to keep me up to speed on any and all covert operations within town whether by us or another faction.
You'll report directly to me of course - but I'll be joining you on many patrols. I don't want to sit behind a bloody desk. No one can make a decision without being in the mix.
He gave her a wink and stood from his seat, furs still wrapped about him and preventing his nudity from being overtly apparent.
You've earned it tonight. You could do to lighten up a little, but I am very proud of you Margrett. You saved my life. I am also very sorry. I didn't expect what happened...
At any rate, Zane here is the only other person to know something of my troubles. I would ask that the events of this evening and anything you witnessed not leave this room. I am sure you can understand why.
As for me, I'm going to help you get your residence in order and then see to my. I am moving outside of town. My being here is obviously a danger to Wistvale, it's better that I be alone and away from others.
Zane finishes his work, healing magic and needle having done their work, and then straightens up and wipes his brow
"Well that's that, Margrett was it?"
Hearing Grayell's words, Zane crosses the room and slaps him across the face.
"Really? You're a councilman, Grayell, so stop feeling so pitiful and act like one. The people need to be able to see you, and you need to be here in case something happens. So you're not moving anywhere."
Grayell holds his head to the side, still recoiled from the slap. He shifts his jaw, it pops near his ear and he grunts. Not entirely happy.
I only have to sleep there Zane. But tell me, what happens when more come? You think they'll just swing by my house and ignore the rest of the town? You're patching up Margrett, who's next?
Grayell looked around now, to the both of him. His eyes were frustrated, his face in disbelief.
Really? That's the answer? Shit happens? Maybe I should just advertise where I'm at, have a rally. Ask the whole town to attend. Yep, sounds like a solid plan to me...
His tone was angered now. He stared at them both, entirely disagreeing with what was said.
