Kiko gave him an inquiring glance. His behavior was still somewhat... odd.
Wolf...
She started to ask him something, but stopped to take a sip of the tea. She had a feeling this conversation was going to be longer than she was really ready to endure without something to sooth her throat.
... the werewolf. He did not act the same as the ones who attacked is on the way North.

“Put some clothes on, you weird, yellow-eyed, table-dancing, werewolf-training, cryptic, stare-me-right-in-the-eyes-and-don't-even-blink wench.”
Grayell sighed a little as imagery of her serving teas in the buff were shattered.
No. he was too damn strong for starters. He spoke of age, he said a few things that made me think. And he should not have been up after the first time.
But he was not Garou. He reeked of corruption. I am not sure what to make of it.
Kiko nodded and rested against the stack of wood she had found.
...could he have been something other than corrupted? Something not Garou but other?
She wasn't sure what she thought about the fight the night before, or the werewolf. She was perhaps too sympathetic to him, but finding him in the cage, and seeing the trap they had built to capture him... it was bothering her.
Eternity
“Put some clothes on, you weird, yellow-eyed, table-dancing, werewolf-training, cryptic, stare-me-right-in-the-eyes-and-don't-even-blink wench.”
Grayell raised an eyebrow and a strange coldness lurked in his eyes. It wasn't for her, but the thoughts that accompanied that question weren't immediately pleasant.
No. Nothing will change that unless you want it to...
The thoughts that accompanied his own words were worse though and it made him feel a little... ill. He shook it off, sipped his tea and tried to ignore unpleasant thoughts.
Kiko dragged a hand through her hair. Without the braid she slipped into an old habit of hiding behind the curtain of it when nervous and unsure of what to say.
...He seemed to think he could. Unless it was just a taunt to enrage you. I ask... because we have not talked about it. And the elder at the camp... well, they were not so sure of me.
Kiko curled in, her shoulders coming up to either side of her face. It wouldn't be the first time she was not worthy.

Grayell lifted off the bed then, slowly and silently before settling to his knees between her own. His hands rested on her hands as he smiled up at her, then shifted to cup her cheeks. He lifted enough to press his forehead to hers and let out a pleasant whine. His voice was mellow, full of sincerity. His feelings were palpable and without doubt.
No. I love you beyond comprehension and nothing can change that unless you wish it to. Now listen to me.
Grayell smiled, dragged his face by hers, his nose against her cheek now.
You are my life. You are my everything. You are the one thing that I live for - life without you is hollow and empty. Meaningless. You are the kiss of life on my soul, you alone give me purpose. Reason.
Anything that tries to take that from me will have to kill me first. To lose you would only end me all the same.
His hands stroked her hair now and then settled behind her neck. His eyes opened and he looked up, his forehead on hers again.
But why mention the elder now? Have things not changed? Do you have questions?

Kiko put the tin cup down. She pushed her fingers into his hair on either side of his face when his forehead rested against her. She smiled at him, too, and took comfort in his voice and words, and while those did manage to sooth some of her fears, she could not help but feel unfit against his devotion.
Yes, things had changed.
She was happy.
Still, sometimes, when the dark thoughts held her for far too long she wondered if he would be better off without her.
...Questions... there are so many of those, Wolf. I feel... strange on days. Too close to the animal. Too willing to embrace the wild... too uncaring of human worlds.

Grayell only smiled... and then stole a kiss. It was soft and delicate, their mouths knew each other without sight now and such a simple thing was magical beyond measure each time. He rested back now, brushed the hair from her cheek.
I have such days too. But you must promise me one thing.
Kiko gave a relieved sigh. What she had said didn't bother him, he claimed to have the same days. She had his memories, knew the wolf inside, her thoughts and desires were not nearly so easy to understand.
She'd maintained her shape as the wolf through the battle, mainly because she did not want to linger in more difficult thoughts. She did not want to wonder if the Garou had not told her the truth, she did not want to think that she might still carry some vestige of the creature he'd been fighting.
But, while he'd slept she did wonder, she brushed it away now. Her behavior was normal, at least as much as she would ever be normal. She was not tainted with any part of the werewolf.
Alright, Wolf.
Her smile was back and she waved a hand over the map.
What do you want to do about that?

She was packing things up. The sun was starting to warm the air, and it was becoming uncomfortable. It wouldn't take long for the swampy surroundings to eat away at the dead flesh of the poachers, or the werewolf. She had no desire to see or smell that.

Grayell only tossed the gold into their possessions but looked at the ring. Odd. He gave the map another look over to see what he could learn from it though, it may be immediately useful.
He'd much rather be in a meadow, rolling on his back and her licking his face... but they had to figure out if there was a threat that needed their immediate attention.
Kiko had finished getting the rest of the gear ready and got her bearings. She headed out of the swamp back the way they had come, they could find another way around this place, certainly.
The ring, within closer proximity to the map and in the daylight, warped and twisted faintly in Grayell's hand.
